My second stay here having stayed in 2018 but wow how Como has changed! It is indeed very touristy now. I asked for the same room as I had last time but after a second night or poor nights sleep from the loud music on the square and the rubbish bottle bins being collected during the night it became unbearable. I was moved to the loft room which was far better however, there was a strong “drain smell” in the rooms, I wished I had brought my pillow spray! The receptionist desk was often unmanned and at times I felt I was treated more like a nuisance than a guest. Given the reception is not manned during the night you just have a spy hole on the doors of the bedrooms for the comfort of travellers, especially solo ones. The staff were usually quite kind and it was great to see a few familiar faces from my last visit. This hotel was amazing last time however standards seemed to have dropped. The luggage storage area didn’t seem particularly safe just a cupboard off the kitchen where I could go and collect my bag without anyone challenging me on where I was going and what I was doing. The area outside was costly for breakfast which I enjoyed and to have drinks in the evening.

Great location and service, the room was very original and right at the front of the building, however was surprisingly quiet. The hotel were able to fit us in for an additional night at late notice which was great. The bed was very comfy and a great breakfast buffet

We visited Como to celebrate a birthday in this magical place.
Disgusting service when there was a mistake made at check in … it was an understandable mistake made by the lady checking me in (we are all human after all). I had accepted there was nothing that could be done at the time and as I had booked through trip.com I was referred back to them to arrange a refund for the difference between my booking and the room provided. Unfortunately the hotel then lied to the booking provider about the events that took place and as a result I ended up paying $900 a night to stay in a standard $600 odd room for 2 nights. After receiving the telephone transcript from trip.com I confronted them about the lie the front desk lady said because she wasn’t the person that checked me in she just went on what she thought must have taken place.
Thanks to Marcel for doing his best to help out on the last night. Very much appreciated.
General manager unavailable to see me to resolve. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere

The location was great but it was a strange hotel. We were in room 901 but it was on the ground floor. We opened the door and were hit by a heavy perfume aroma. This never went away even when we opened a window. The fly screen had holes in it. The room was an odd shop with the bathroom door touching the bed. It was difficult to stand at the sink as the toilet was in the way. The bed was lumpy so we didn’t sleep well. However the breakfast was excellent and the lady was welcoming. Disappointed to be honest.

Brilliant hotel! All staff very friendly and helpful cannot do enough for you! Rooms basic but spotless (no kettle but they will make you a tea or coffee just go to reception and ask) location next to a bus stop, supermarket you can see from hotel and its 24/7 and very reasonable! Town is 10 minutes down the road as is the lake! Literally cannot praise this hotel enough! Breakfast is continental.

PPengguna TetamuThe studio was located in the old town, 9 mins away by feet from the Saint Mary Assunta Cathedral and 12 mins away by feet from the ferries' piers. Self check in was possible (though I was offline, so opted for standard check in). Great staff. The studio was spacious, clean, with all the amenities I needed. Bed and pillows were very compfy. Wifi was available for free. Self check out was simple.

SStephanieCheck in was easy and seamless. You get your personal code to access the room. I was in an 8-bed mixed dorm. Great vibes all round. Everyone was very friendly. Oh and a complimentary welcome drink too. There's a 24hour supermarket right next door which wsas very handy to have for late arrivals.
Bathroom was clean and easy. plenty of space for storage despite being in a 8-bed room. highly recommended.

Ssamanthab20192019Location is perfect In the main square after a 5 min walk from rail station (incoming from Milan). This lovely en-suite room is perfect for a few days. Yaiza our host was amazing, and so helpful with top tips on things to do, how to get there … even giving us the bus number and location as to where to get on, and of course restaurant recommendations. Only a small point, that the mattress was a bit soft for our liking and could have had extra pillows for bed. Would highly recommend:)

The staff are friendly and the location is relatively ideal except for the church which the hotel backs onto. The breakfast was good and the room was a pretty good size, but the AC was rattly and the beds were uncomfortable with flat pillows. There were no additional pillows in the room, instead we had to ask at the desk. We didn't get fresh towels until we asked for additional ones either and the walls were pretty thin. The elevator was also very small And then there was the bathroom. Very little thought had gone into the bathroom. The configuration was all wrong and seemed to have been designed in a hurry with accessibility (fortunately not a priority for us) an afterthought. There were two showers, one in the back where there was not even a light, a tiny shower head, half unusable shower rack and the bidet right in front of the shower door. The ”accessible” shower with seat was right in front of the door with no screen, nothing to protect the door or the rest of the bathroom. The positioning of this shower and the rails didn't seem to be cohesive for actual accessible use that would allow a disabled person dignity and independence. The toilet and the sink were both huge which again didn't make it seem very disability friendly. There were also two toilet roll holders for some reason. As me and my friend could also only just fit into the elevator, I have my doubts about a wheelchair being able to fit in there Como was beautiful, I hope to go again, but not at this hotel!

The best possible location, right on the square, two minutes from the lakes edge. Clean, plenty of white cotton sheets and towels, spacious shower with nice smellies provided etc. Moustach (apologies for spelling!) on reception was lovely, quick check in (early too!) and must also recommend the €15 per person breakfast. I am coeliac and they were very good catering for Gluten Free. My only pointer would be that Italy often follows a rule that aircon can’t be below 22. So it did feel that our aircon wasn’t quite adequate. Reception did provide a fan which helped and we slept well mid August. I went with a friend as part of a wider trip but do intend to return to Como with my husband, I will be rebooking at the Alberto Firenze. You couldn’t ask for more!

PPengguna TetamuPosizione ottima, in pieno centro (è un plus ma anche un malus per il baccano giù in strada fino a tarda notte, specialmente nei weekend). Bisogna però essere onesti, sulla struttura c'è tanto da lavorare...Camera venduta come superior ma le superior sono ben lontane. Niente TV in camera e questo è per me grave se vendi una 'superior' a quasi €100 a notte. Insonorizzazione pessima, si sentiva anche il russare delle camere accanto...Molto scomodo il fatto che sia ad un terzo piano senza ascensore quindi solo scale, e a fine giornata è davvero dura, impossibile per famiglie con carrozzine o per portatori di handicap. Portone d'ingresso su strada poco curato, confina con la porta di servizio di un ristorante/bar che emana odori forti a tutte le ore. Apprezzata la macchinetta del caffè in camera e l'acqua, ma ciò non esalta la struttura in se. Il bidet perdeva acqua, un condizionatore montato sulla cappa della cucina con tubo di scolo nel lavandino della stessa. Per una camera venduta come Superior a quasi €100 a notte direi proprio no...Ok la pulizia e cortesia telefonica dello staff (dico telefonica poiché non abbiamo mai incontrato i proprietari per ovvie ragioni personali, nè esiste una reception).C'è da dire che son stati molto cortesi nel lasciarci la camera anche dopo l'orario del check out senza supplemento, davvero una comodità per chi visita e poi torna prima di partire.

Highly recommend DO NOT BOOK that horrible hotel! There are much better accommodations around. 03.09- 04.09 Me & my boyfriend paid 230 euros for one night's stay in that hotel (COMO) The receptionist (Cristian) said the policy of the hotel obliges us to pay the whole amount for accommodation while check-in. So we did. I paid the whole amount in cash. The next day 04.09 hotel charged me again the same whole price for my stay by using my card details. I called reception, and Claudia told me that she will call me back, but she never did, she left home without telling any colleagues about my problem. I called reception again the next day and Claudia when she heard that it's me she said that I have to wait for an answer. I asked her how long because I need my money and I want to know when will I have it back, but she dropped the phone! DROPPED THE PHONE! So I don't even know what to do, it is super humiliating to face such an attitude, should I bag the hotel to get my money back?! They do not reply to the emails, do not call me back, or hang the phone if I call. I don't want to go to the police, but what else can I do?! The hotel in Como and the hotel in Milan have two different owners, so even in Milan, they said that they can not do anything to help me. It's the first time in all my travel experience I face such rudeness and unprofessionalism. Apart from that, we did the checkout at 11.15, so we were 15 min late. The receptionist (Claudia) charged us 15 euros (1 euro per minute) for the late checkout. More of that, she insisted that I should pay as well for the late checkout for the other guests, that Im not related to! Because we booked our rooms at the same time for her it means that we are friends and I will pay for them as well! I couldn't do anything since she had my card, I was obliged to pay. The other guests, paid for their rooms separately, with another card, but Claudia still charged me those 40 euro! That is unacceptable! I was very mad, so I told Claudia the trough ”That is the worst hotel I had ever stayed” and Claudia replied, ”YOU ARE THE WORST CUSTOMER EVER”. Apart from all that, the rooms are very poor, the view is horrible! For many years there are the construction works in front, so that will be the view from your balcony! The walls are so thin that you can literally hear all the conversations of the other guests. I stayed with my sisters in a triple room , 2 singles and a put you up bed , the room was nice , two balconies but no views, the room was cleaned daily , the position of the hotel is great , just outside the wall of como so a 10 minute walk to the lake. The pool was cold but we had a swim, the staff were helpful all the time, extra pool towels provided.

PPengguna TetamuThis hotel is well located (although initially difficult to find), being only a short walk away from the centre of Como. The rooms are small but perfectly fine if you’re doing a little break at the lake. Breakfast is simple but does the job. The room that we stayed in was right on the main road, had an air conditioning control which didn’t work meaning we were left with either leaving the windows open to stay cool, but hear all of the traffic in the main road next to the room, or shut them, be hot and have it more quiet. Staff are helpful and will look after bags etc on your final day. Only actual main complaint came right at the end of our stay where one of the staff members got overly annoyed that we didn’t have cash to pay for 2 bottles of water, despite paying everything else on card. He raised his voice at us, we were happy to pay or figure it out but he was almost too angry to work it out. I would recommend staying here, just make sure you’ve got cash for water!
