This hotel is in a good location in Evanston and would be nice if it were accessible. There are two sets of stairs to get inside, and the lift was out of order. There was merely a sign that stated “Out of order. We apologize for the inconvenience.” My friend is a wheelchair-user and could only gain access to the hotel by going up and down an incredibly steep ramp in the parking garage meant for cars — not people. We informed the front desk and asked for another entrance and exit and were told the unsafe parking garage ramp for cars is the only way in and out that avoids stairs besides the lift. They told us the lift has been out of order for “a few days” and they only called an engineer once we told them about it. This is unacceptable — completely inaccessible hotel and fixing the lift clearly was not their priority. Also, one of the hotel staff was not helpful when we asked for assistance with our bags (we are both disabled and cannot carry them). She simply brushed us off and told us to ask security (there was no security person to help). This hotel really needs to improve their accessibility and disability practices as they are excluding a large percentage of the population and as a result, losing customers.

Nice cold frio weather for our trip. But nice and warm on the inside. Plenty of food and snacks on hand. Beverage machines on the floor need to be refilled, but other than that, very nice, customer service is very good.

Our stay at Hyatt House Chicago/Evanston was an absolute delight. The heartwarming smiles of the staff greeting us upon arrival set the tone for a splendid stay. From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us with beaming smiles that genuinely made us feel at home. The general manager, Jazmine Lee, and the assistant general manager Ray Mata stood out with their graciousness and cordial demeanor, making us feel appreciated and valued. We were also surprised by the housekeeping team's professionalism, especially their supervisor, Dalia, who demonstrated impeccable service and genuine warmth. We love that she greets us with a warm and friendly smile. The attention to detail and dedication to cleanliness were apparent, and they served us with kindness and respect. We were particularly impressed with the front desk personnel, who were professional and went above and beyond to cater to our every need. Harvey Penn from the front desk always greeted us with a smile that exuded genuine warmth and friendliness. The positivity of the entire team made our stay truly enjoyable—especially Rob, Olivia, Adna, Hibba, and Leylani. We highly recommend Hyatt House Chicago/Evanston to anyone looking for a friendly, goes beyond-expectations and heartwarming experience. -AF
