Stylish hotel with thoughtful details (how they present the history of Tainan and its old trades), water dispenser on the 8th floor was great and so was the bidet in the room toilet. Room also ccame with local sweets, tea and coffee. Bonus was casting from your device onto room’s TV. Breakfast was a spread with a comforting range.

If I could give more than 5 stars to XiuXi Anping, I absolutely would. From the moment I arrived, everything felt intentional and thoughtfully curated. The location in Anping is perfect—tucked away just enough to feel peaceful, yet still incredibly convenient for exploring the old streets, historical spots, and local food scene. It struck that rare balance between tranquility and accessibility. The space itself is stunning. Every detail—from the minimalist design to the warm lighting and carefully chosen decor—creates an atmosphere that feels both modern and deeply comforting. It’s the kind of place where you walk in and instantly feel at ease. Cleanliness was impeccable, and you can tell the hosts take real pride in maintaining such a high standard. What truly elevated the experience, though, was the hospitality. The hosts were exceptionally responsive, kind, and genuinely invested in making sure the stay was perfect. They didn’t just provide a place to stay—they created an experience. Thoughtful touches throughout the space made it feel personal rather than transactional. Waking up there was a highlight in itself. The calm ambiance, soft natural light, and quiet surroundings made it the perfect reset from a busy travel schedule. It felt less like accommodation and more like a carefully designed retreat. Honestly, XiuXi Anping set a new standard for what I look for when traveling. If you’re heading to Tainan and want somewhere that combines aesthetic, comfort, and heartfelt hospitality, this is it. I would return in a heartbeat.

We enjoyed our stay at this family friendly hotel. The room was a bit smaller than expected but had all the amenities we could wish for. We enjoyed a separate room for our preschool aged children. The hotel provided an ice cream bar, drinks including beer and juice, late night snacks and of course breakfast. The kids enjoyed the traffic playground a 5 min walk from the hotel.

Overall, I had a very good stay and think this hotel deserves a higher rating, especially compared with some higher-star hotels I stayed at in Taiwan. The room was very clean and housekeeping was thorough. I also really appreciated the free coffee (black coffee) and water dispenser. The shared kitchen and dining area are very useful, as you do not have to eat inside your room. Having the garbage disposal downstairs is also great, especially as you do not have to keep food waste in the room. The air conditioning was strong, the fridge worked well, and there was also a large shared fridge/freezer and dishes available on the ground floor. The washing machine was excellent: 40 TWD for a roughly 50-minute wash and 10 TWD for detergent. Unlike many other hotels, it also had warm-water programs, and my clothes actually smelled fresh afterwards. The receptionist was very helpful, and being able to contact reception through LINE while outside the hotel was extremely convenient. They responded quickly and were always helpful. The elevator and stairs were also good. I especially appreciated that there is a guest toilet available even after check-out. Also, a hairdryer and slippers were also provided, which was convenient. A few negatives: the walls are very thin, the bed was too short for me (1.73m), hand soap was missing, and I found it unusual that toilet paper cannot be flushed. Check-in only starts at 4 p.m., which is quite late. One additional thing to note for taller guests: the bathroom ceiling is quite low. The biggest issue was noise from other guests. There was a lot of loud noise after 11 p.m. and late into the night. It would be very helpful if the hotel introduced clear quiet-hour rules and reminded guests at check-in to keep noise down after around 10 p.m. Regardless of where people come from, being considerate of other hotel guests should be basic courtesy, especially late at night. Apart from the noise, this was a very good hotel with excellent facilities (see pictures) and helpful staff.

Had a pleasant time in this hotel. Provided snacks and drinks daily. The male staff that was at the reception at night was very helpful in helping us call local shops and finding things. The breakfast was also delicious! Would return next time!

The location of this hotel is perfect. All the major cultural sites and shopping malls are within walking distance. I highly recommend the guests to buy the locally brewed Tainan beers (in bottles) from the reception. It is going to be an unforgettable experience. These local Tainan beers have a wide range of tastes, and the texture of each one is bolder and better than the conventional Taiwan beer and the imported ones. The hotel also has a neat and cozy common area on the 8/F., and it is comfortable to relax there. I wish the hotel had its own restaurant, but one can always find cafes for breakfast nearby.

1. Centralized Aircon, aka if neighbour just happened to be smoking, the room might temporarily get some second hand smoke.There's window but I'm not sure how to open this kind, until I went to the next hotel haha. 2. Bedroom is big & spacious. Bed and quilt are fine. Slight sensitive skin irritation on day 1 then my skin has adapted to the bed. Has extra pillows that might be cleaner but I didn't use them. 3. Location is ok. Within 1km walking distance from many good local foods that are cheap and tasty. Free bicycle rental which can save some walking. 4. Bathroom is fine, quite big too. Mandatory to stand in the bathtub in order to use the shower head. Couldn't stick the pipe to only use shower head so did some temporary workaround. 5. Soundproof is not good, but didn't impact much except when a kid screamed and ran outside for God knows why. 6. An insect (or is it tw-cockroach version?) crawled out from a corner on my last day... I scared it then it ran back into hiding. 7. There's a water dispenser at the lobby (stage area), free snacks and tea bags. 8. Didn't want to keep towels in the wardrobe space with hanger or on the towel rack above toilet bowl, so can air dry in bathroom, as long it's not toooo heavy. 9. Door has double lock but no chain, so can use a hanger as workaround. Overall: there are a lot of workarounds that I can do, hence the stay was pretty pleasant. The price is definitely worth the stay.

Near to eateries. All walking distance. And also Guanziling Tourist Center just beside the hotel. Famous roasted chicken also just within walking distance. However breakfast is just so so.

The room was spacious with places to put our luggages. The bed was oddly off centered but that created space for the luggage :) There were international electrical sockets so I didnt have to use my adaptor. The toilet has an odd configuration. Instead of a shower curtain, u get a ”toilet seat curtain” that u are supposed to pull to keep it dry when showering (water still gets splashed on it if it is not pulled well). The most inconvenient part of the room was the lack of a dry area to wear clothes after showering. Water pressure and temperature are great. Location wise, the hotel is very near the western market, shen nong street. We were also able to walk back from the Tainan TRA station when the buses had ended at night. There is a free shuttle bus to the THSR Tainan station which stops about 3mins walk from the hotel. We only discovered this on check out, so good to enquire with the hotel before checking in. The staff were generally friendly, when asked, they gave some suggestions about where to eat nearby. They look slightly unsure, possibly because it was ***** new year period. They were also helpful in booking taxi, massage and sending up additional clothes hangers. I did converse in mandarin though. We can get bedroom slippers and bottled water for free at the lobby, so that was very nice.

The hotel room was clean and basic for the most part and a few small bugs in the bathroom, but nothing major. 4 bottles of water are included and slippers. Beds are firm and comfortable and pillows are ok. However, if you are allergic to napthelene (moth balls), then stay away as the place is strong smelling of moth balls though the room doesn't have a closet or wardrobe. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The bathroom is very basic without a door rack to hang your clothes and the shower partition is only enough to shield the toilet from splashes and without any sliding doors. Toilet doesn't accept toilet paper, so you'll need to put into the provided waste basket. The young lady at the counter was generally helpful, but in a basic kind of way. The hotel is conveniently located right across from the Taiwan railway station in ”downtown” kind of area. The lobby looked big, clean, and decent with a ”putting green” off to the side. The room is quiet, though there are people talking loudly as they check in late at night. The lobby “free wifi” connects, but has no internet service. Room wifi is unsecured, so make sure you have a vpn or use it for unimportant things. They also provide a free luggage storage service before you check in so you can sightsee without lugging your luggage around town. Overall, it’s a good choice for a basic short stay at a very convenient location. The price is also very good. Recommended choice for your next Tainan trip.
