Conveniently located about 100m from the main street in the ancient city and the South gate tower. The room was beautifully appointed in a traditional manner with lovely Chinese objet d’art, and matched their online pictures. We were picked up and dropped off from the train station, and our daily breakfast bento box was interesting, generous and delicious. There was also wontons or noodles, coffee, juice and yoghurt. The staff looked after us well.

Great experience, It Is a 200 years old Building inside the walls of Pingyao, few minutes from East gate. The owner and his family Is welcoming and kind, he contact me few days in advance and explained how to get there from train station and even waited for me at the East gate. He gave suggestions on what to see and where to eat. Room Is spacious and the bed Is comfortable, the house Is very charming. I really loved my stay there! 客棧位置非常好，鬧中取靜，步行2-3分鐘就能到達古城內最繁華核心地帶，市樓，南大街，平遙最好的餐廳都在這條街上。客棧裝修非常有特色，雕樑畫柱，古樸大氣，一進去給人一種眼前一亮的感覺，客棧上下有三層，自己特意請了攝像師在客棧拍了好多照片，沒去過平遙古城的朋友看了照片都收藏了他家，準備去時住那裡。房間乾淨衞生，舒適，有各種房型，滿足不同需求的遊客，價格適中，服務更是沒得説，老闆是本地人，熱情，真誠，主動給客人介紹平遙古城歷史，旅遊景點，當地特色美食，產品，憑他家的卡還可以在最有名的幾家餐廳打折吃飯，至於平遙特產醋，平遙牛肉，酒等都由老闆替我們代勞了，貨真價實！應我們的要求老闆帶我們去漆器廠挑選精美漆器，價格美麗，物超所值。總之來平遙古城你衹管玩好，其它的交給老闆就行了，一次非常愉快的旅行，收穫滿滿，還會再來，也推薦給要去平遙古城的朋友，選他家絕對沒錯！

A highlight of our trip to China. This is a beautifully renovated courtyard hotel in the historic town of Pingyao. The family-run hotel was very welcoming, and the staff had good English, which helped us navigate things to do in and around the town. Pingyao itself, and the surrounding area, is well worth a couple of days. We went to Encore Pingyao, which was very enjoyable even with the language barrier. Another highlight was the SoReal / Huanzhen Pingyao Science and Technology Art Museum: 焕真·平遥科技艺术馆 or SoReal焕真·平遥科技艺术馆, located within the city walls. It was an immersive, high-tech experience, with the climax being a VR ride where you are strapped into moving chairs. Flying through mountains, with dragons coming at you and beautiful princes and princesses woven into the story, was very memorable. Overall, this was a wonderful place to stay and one of the standout experiences of our trip.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay! The hotel is constituted with two glorious classical residences from Ming/Qing Dynasties, with rich and gorgeous original architectural details to wow any visitor. The front desk manager, Ms. Ah Fen was very kind and helpful. My host and contact, Miss Juan Er, was brilliant at all front, and also an extremely impressive tour guide on the history and trivials of the houses and their original occupiants. Wonderful experience!

location is perfect. Hotel is located in a beautiful building. Room was ok. Please note that the beds are really hard, especially for European people. I knew we had original kan beds, and expected them to be hard, but they were really really hard. Our kids were to tired and we let them sleep out a bit, so we skipped breakfast which was until 09:30. People worlking at hotel could be a bit more helpfull. The hotel itself is bigger then expected. If you go for teh scenic adventure, you can choose to stay here as the location is perfect. You also only need to walk like 20 meters max from the drop off point where no shuttle busses are allowed.

The hotel is located in Pingyao's Old City, very close to the Ancient Government tourist landmark. I found the level of service outstanding. Even though there was a language barrier they were always eager to help. I liked the courtyard and in the room I felt like I was sleeping in one of the museums I visited in Pingyao. Additional perks include free laundry and free transport to the train station. As a drawback, the wifi connection didn't work well for me. To sum up excellent value for money.

I must highly recommend this wonderful hotel in the historic centre of Pingyao. The hotel is really authentic, well equipped, the room was beautiful and I didn't miss anything during my stay. The owner is very nice and helpful, he was able to help me with everything. The front desk is guarded by a small, beautiful dog who gives you a proper greeting. Everything is a short walk from the hotel yet it is in a quiet area where you won't be disturbed. Not choosing this hotel for my stay would be a big mistake. Hotel je opravdu autentický, dobře vybavený, pokoj byl krásný a během pobytu mi nic nechybělo. Majitel je velmi milý a ochotný, se vším mi dokázal pomoci. Recepci hlídá malý, krásný pejsek, který vás náležitě přivítá. Vše je kousek od hotelu a přitom je v klidné oblasti, kde vás nebude nikdo rušit. Nevybrat si tento hotel pro svůj pobyt by byla velká chyba. Moc děkuji

Fantastic stay. Staff provided impeccable service and advice. The tour suggestions were on point and proactive (e.g. informing us that light showers were forecasted and they had readied umbrellas if we needed them). Most of the staff was fluent in English. Rooms were clean and nicely appointed. Smart use of the different courtyards meant that rooms are very private and that, overall, it was very calm and serene. The property is located centrally near one of the major intersections within the old centre and most points of interests can be reached on foot in 20-30 min. If you are travelling with heavier luggage, then the hotel provides transport against an additional charge. The cost (150 RMB per way from/to the high speed train station) is well worth the money as you get dropped off just outside the pedestrian area (but within the city walls) a few hundred meters from the hotel and staff arranges for the luggage to be brought to the hotel. Taxis can’t drive that far into the old city.
