We stayed at this hotel for two nights and really enjoyed the experience. It’s designed as a traditional courtyard property, with large, spacious rooms built using high-quality materials. The breakfast is Chinese but very Western-friendly. The location is close to the main sites, though in a quieter area, so expect a 5–7 minute walk to reach the main temples. As is common, the staff don’t speak much English, but communication via phone translators worked smoothly and wasn’t an issue. The team was very kind, and overall this is a clearly upscale boutique hotel with a beautiful courtyard setting—we would definitely recommend it.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, the room was very clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect. Everything was well organised and made my stay relaxing and enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others. The pickup service from the train station was an excellent addition and they have excellent translation services.

The hotel staff provide outstanding customer service, and I especially want to highlight Ana — she is amazing. The hotel itself is beautiful, but my room felt old and was not as clean as it should have been. I was also very disappointed that a western breakfast was not provided. Since I was the only guest in the room, it would only require one portion, and I believe a western breakfast should be included free of charge. I hope the hotel can improve in these areas to better match the excellent service of the staff.

It was just an absolutely amazing experience from the very beginning and until the very end of our stay, not even just in the hotel, but in the city of Pingyao itself in general. Me and my friend are traveling very light and without guides, and in Pingyao we had only one day: from evening to evening of the next day. Huge huge thanks to everyone who made this day unforgettable and ultimately comfortable for tired us: Alice, Helen, Fenny, Hana, and all others who was there for us. The hotel service is simply excellent: as soon as they learned about our late arrival, they immediately offered to meet us at the railway station, which was absolutely the sweetest thing. They brought us to the city gate, met us there, and walked us to the hotel. There they gave us a map, on which they explained in great detail where everything is, what is worth paying attention to, how it is better to build the route, and what opening hours different sights have. They also helped us organize a private transfer to Shaolin Temple the next morning. It was just perfect: we got there in 15 minutes instead of one and a half hours by foot, and after our walk in the temple they met us and brought us back. Also on the evening of arrival they helped us immediately buy the ticket for visiting all attractions of the city, valid for three days. And also they advised us where to eat, and gave us a hotel discount in both places. We did not regret it even once, the food was amazingly delicious in both places! The hotel itself is just wonderful: it really looks exactly like in the photos. You want to photograph every corner and record how the sparrows are chirping on the roof, and how two wonderful cats are meowing. The room also matches and even exceeds expectations. A huge kang bed, very comfortable. Excellent shower with everything needed. Breakfast is included in the stay: the traditional Chinese one was very tasty! Unfortunately, we did not manage to eat the egg, it was freshly boiled and still hot, but we were hurrying to Shaolin Temple by opening time. Also the hotel has a laundry service, and special thanks for that too! Washing and drying were very fast, and we got our nicely smelling clothes back already after four hours, which was critical for us, because we were leaving the same day. We felt like we really were honored guests, and we really appreciated it, even if only for one day.

The location and room itself is quite nice, BUT the hotel also has a Hanfu rental. Meaning there are people all day taking pictures and unfortunately the photographers are quite loud and talkative. Meaning it feels like you stay at a train station on a busy day. The place needs to decide if they want to be a hotel or a photo spot but both doesn’t work. Especially for the price!

The hotel is located in Pingyao's Old City, very close to the Ancient Government tourist landmark. I found the level of service outstanding. Even though there was a language barrier they were always eager to help. I liked the courtyard and in the room I felt like I was sleeping in one of the museums I visited in Pingyao. Additional perks include free laundry and free transport to the train station. As a drawback, the wifi connection didn't work well for me. To sum up excellent value for money.

Dude, I'm gonna strongly recommend Yunjincheng Mansion! It's got an awesome location, right in the heart of Pingyao Ancient City. You can just take a stroll to major attractions like Rishengchang Draft Bank. It's super convenient to get around. The century - old courtyard has that classic and elegant charm, so peaceful and refined. You can totally immerse yourself in the style of the Shanxi merchant compound. The guest rooms are clean, tidy, and comfy. The toiletries are really good, and the stay was great. They even gave us a foot - soaking bucket. How sweet is that! The breakfast has a wide variety. There are freshly - made hand - cut noodles, pure Shanxi aged vinegar brewed on the spot, and freshly - ground coffee that smells amazing and tastes so rich. The staff are friendly and polite, and their service is so detailed. The turn - down service at night really shows they care. I felt so comfortable throughout the stay. I'll definitely choose this place next time I come!

Staying in Yundingxuan has been an awesome experience. Upon steppimg into the courtyard built according to ancient Chinese architectural style, one feels immediately transported into a world of rich culture. The room is big and. neat with a huge double bed and a kang style bed opposite it. Hanging from the ceiling are beautiful Chinese lanterns that when switched on lwnds the room a warm and elegant atmosphere. Staying in Yundingxuan is definitely worth the experience.

Posizione ottima. Personale molto gentile e disponibile a soddisfare tutte le nostre richieste. Ambientazione suggestiva. Purtroppo la stanza e pulizia lasciano desiderare. C’erano capelli sul letto, nel bagno e sui mobili. Per 4 persone con bagagli, lo spazio nella stanza è molto limitato. Il letto Kang è una bella esperienza, ma preparatevi a un letto molto duro. Gli asciugamani usa e getta forniti dalla struttura sono inutili, quindi consiglio di portare i propri. Se siete europei, non aspettavi una colazione occidentale.
