Cari Hotel 3-Star di Pingyao

To begin with, the hotel owner came out to greet us at the city gate and showed us the way to the hotel. She also offered to drive us to the train station when we were leaving at the end of the stay, which was very nice. All in all, Xuanxuan, the owner, was absolutely wonderful and has made her ancestral home a beautiful hotel. The rooms were spotlessly clean, with bedsheets, duvets and pillows being very comfortable. The bed mattress is a little harder than in other hotels, but I prefer this and for my back pain it was better. The bathroom feels luxurious and is also very clean! The room is spacious and has a little seating area as well which is nice. The hotel and the rooms have a security keypad, making it easy to get in an out, and it feels very safe. The room comes with all sorts of small things, like dental packs, a loofah, slippers etc. The hotel is 50m from the main street, which is fantastic because you're close to everything, yet still tucked away for peace and quiet when you need it. I cannot recommend the hotel enough. It is beautiful, lovely host and great location. 10/10

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in October, with my friends who booked separate rooms. We had a free transfer from and to the train station which was very handy. The room was clean and very modern looking, with a smart kettle platform (you need to tap twice on the kettle icon to activate it and boil water - it wasn't written anywhere). The receptionist gave us tips about shopping and also shared his own tea with us, so lovely! The only thing I would like to improve is a Wifi coverage, somehow inside the room it was always saying 'no data connection' despite showing the strongest signal. And the other Wifi they set up for me worked only outside of the room, so I would need to open the door each time I wanted a signal. But I had mobile internet as well so I survived. Just a warning: I think it's unprofessional to play video games without headphones when customers approach you, but maybe the staff's paycheque is low and the manners are not deeply rooted. It just looked unusual to me, because in my country you can lose your job if you behave this way.

The hotel is small and charming with a great location. The room was clean and exactly as shown in the picture. We enjoyed very much the hot shower and traditional decorations. They picked us up from the train station without additional charge. The host was very polite and happy to give us recommendations, tips for our tourist visits and a full map highlighting the main points and recommended visits. We will definitely recommend staying here, specially if you want to have the feeling of staying in a traditional Chinese ancient house beautifully restored.

This is a brand new hotel. Everything works well in the room, and the smart AI assistant is both amusing and practical in controlling room functions. The room furnishings are of good quality. The hotel is an amazing location, as it is just a short walk to the ancient city as well as the You Qian Ping Yao show, which is highly recommended. The hotel staff will book the tickets for you at a slight discount and it is not part of the hotel package, whichl makes it appear to be free. There are many eateries next to the hotel, and there is even a night food street just 100m away, but it was only open during the weekends during my stay in winter. There is also a big supermarket about 300m away, and many bakeries and bubble tea joints. There are plenty of food options.. Most importantly, the owner will fetch you to and fro from the train station. The hotel staff are also very warm and friendly, and will make you feel most welcome. The hotel owner also provided a humidifier, which really provided me much relief from the low humidity Overall, this hotel is highly recommended.

Very nice and quaint inn with a lot of Chinese characteristics. The courtyard is very peaceful and invites a moment of contemplation and stillness. While this is a 400 year old building that was restored, the inn had done a very nice job with it. There was a good balance of traditional vibe with modern facilities. Air Con was working well and the toilet was modern. I felt like I was staying a museum. Staff were very responsive on WeChat and were ready to advise if you need any help in navigation or recommendations for activities. I loved the local breakfast which gave a glimpse of how the locals ate day to day. You can also opt for Western breakfast. This was one of my best stays compared to the other hotels I have stayed in China. The building, staff and the cat made a difference. Thank you for a lovely time in Pingyao.

The location and room itself is quite nice, BUT the hotel also has a Hanfu rental. Meaning there are people all day taking pictures and unfortunately the photographers are quite loud and talkative. Meaning it feels like you stay at a train station on a busy day. The place needs to decide if they want to be a hotel or a photo spot but both doesn’t work. Especially for the price!

My stay at this hotel was wonderful. The room was absolutely beautiful and allowed me to experience the authentic atmosphere of traditional China. It was thoughtfully divided into a living area and a sleeping area, making it both spacious and comfortable. The elegant furniture, decorations, and sculptures added a unique charm to the room. The bathroom was excellent as well, featuring both a bathtub and a separate shower. The staff at the reception spoke English very well, making communication easy throughout my stay. The location is perfect, just a short walk from the main attractions of beautiful Pingyao. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and authentic stay in the heart of the city.

La estancia en el hotel está muy bien, ubicado justo detrás de West Street de Pingyao, está a dos minutos de la vida de Pingyao, visita totalmente recomendable. Una gran ventaja es que se encuentra muy cerca de la West Gate, de manera que caminado llegas en unos pocos minutos a pode salir del recinto amurallado sin necesidad de coger un carrito de golf del municipio. El edificio no tiene nada que envidiar a las casas museo a las que se entra en el pase de museos de Pingyao, así que es literalmente como transportarse al siglo XIX pero con las comodidades de hoy. De noche los farolillos del propio hotel son espectaculares.

We were initially hesitant as we're worried the hotel may be ”too old”. But we were pleasantly surprised it was renovated to retain the ancient city look and feel. Love the room and the courtyards. It's even better than the ancient city itself. This hotel stay is a must for those seeking a complete and fulfilling stay in an ancient city. Room is extremely clean. We were at other international chain hotels during our tour, but none is as great as this hotel. My friend who is very ”sensitive” to ”presence” could not sleep well in other hotels, but could sleep very well in this hotel. The location is just a couple of steps off the main street of the ancient city. Same row as the famous ”bank”. Family runned. Lady boss and family are very fluent in English. So communication is not a problem. They're super friendly and helpful and accommodating. Highly recommended. For those who would like to venture out of the ancient city, do get their assistance to book a reliable and affordable driver to take you around. They even offer free costumes for you to dress up like Qing Dynasty ladies. FREE. A very big thank you to the lady boss for making our stay memorable and fun.
