Hotel berhampiran Panorama vom Sprungbrett, Innsbruck

Located on the outskirts of Innsbruck the hostel is relatively easy to get to. From the central station you just walk around the corner and catch the number 3 tram (heading for Amras). After a few stops you get off at `Pilippine-welser strabe’ and then walk for about ten minutes. Incidentally, if your flight is a morning one, don’t turn up at the hostel in the hope of an early check-in as there is no receptionist until 14.00. So unless you want to sit outside and twiddle your thumbs you would be better off placing your bags in one of the rail station lockers and having a look around the city. Our room was small and basic (no television etc.) and our allocated bathroom was across the corridor. But it was all high spec and, in keeping with the rest of the hostel, spotlessly clean. The receptionists were polite, knowledgeable and helpful (don’t forget to ask for your welcome card which gives you free travel on the trams and buses within the city). Breakfast was more than sufficient to keep us going for most of the day, although some might feel that the choice on offer a bit limited. Should we ever return to Innsbruck we’d be happy to stay at the Marmota again.

This was the nicest hotel we stayed in, in a month's long trip of Europe in December. We stayed in a junior suite, and our daughter enjoyed the curtained off area her bed was in, providing her with her own private space. The hotel is modern and luxurious inside, while being in a perfect location next to the old town, and still retaining charm and character. The Christmas markets in Innsbruck are right across the road. The breakfast buffet was the best we encountered also and all of the staff were warm, welcoming, helpful and friendly. Our only regret was that we didn't stay here longer, and we would love to come back.

The hotel is beautiful, in a very good position, central but quiet with a public parking going directly to the hall and the rooms are super clean, the breakfast is good and with a lot of choice...so why only 3/5? Because the staff at the reception is completely useless and the wellness area had very restricted hours (from 5 to 9 p. m. only), they wrote due to the cost of energy, but if this is the reason, why the heating in the rooms was always so high? We had to turn it off and open the window during the day to breath, it should have been around 24-25 °C. If they kept it lower they could open the wellness area for more time, especially because there were a lot of people (60 rooms most or them booked) and it was difficult to use a 8 people jacuzzi and around 20 deck chairs if everybody go there at the same time. The problem with the reception staff totally useless happend twice: in the wellness area you shouldn't drink or eat (it's logical but I asked to be sure), I said there was a group of teenagers with beers and bottles in general (glass) but nobody came to check and say somehing: bringing glass near a swimming pool could be very dangerous if a bottle fall, but nobody cared. The other episode was with the restaurant: we asked at the reception for a reservation in any night of our stay (5 nights), but they say to ask directly to the restaurant without caring at all at our request. At the restaurant they were very rude and said they were fully booked any day any time without even checking, fortunately just around the corner there was another very good one and we went there twice, but usually if in the hotel there is a restaurant, the staff is much more helpful and there is always the possibility to try it if you are a guest of the hotel.

The Alphotel Innsbruck is probably the worst hotel we've ever stayed at! But we had no choice since we were on a tour package and this was the hotel that Gate1 chose for our itinerary. We weren't the only tour members who did not have a good stay at this hotel. Our tour group had a long day and we were scheduled to arrive late so we were all pretty tired when we arrived. Unfortunately the room we were assigned to didn't even look or feel exceptionally clean and I'm surprised I didn't take photos of the room! Comparing posted photos of the rooms on TA our room looked much older and didn't even have a real chair, but only one of those small round ottomans. And that ottoman was dirty and stained, so we didn't want to sit on that! The bedspread had that ”ick” factor, so we removed it but at least the sheets were clean. Carpet looked grungy so we made sure to wear our slippers and not walk barefoot on it. Regret not taking pictures of the room now. We've stayed at hotels with older or ”tired” decor but they were at least neat and clean, but not at this hotel! Now the ”fun” part was our bathroom door. I was getting ready to take a shower and went into the bathroom, but wanted to use my own soap and toiletries, so I went out of the bathroom and my husband (who was standing in front of the bathroom, looking at the closet or something right across from the bathroom) shut the opaque glass bathroom door. I went back to the bathroom and tried to open the door and it was locked! It was one of those simple privacy type locks where there's usually a pinhole that you can usually press and it'll pop open. Unfortunately, there was no pinhole but a screw so I tried twisting the screw but the door remained locked. Husband tried but it kept turning and he didn't have any tools so he called the front desk and they sent the maintenance guy up. The maintenance guy looked at the door and tried twisting the screw with the same results and said he needed to go get his tools. He returned with his small toolbox and tried several screwdrivers, with no luck. Then he tried using a small drill to remove the screw and still couldn't get the door unlocked. Meanwhile, we were sitting on the bed and watching tv since there was nothing else we could do. I texted our friends who were also traveling in the tour group and assigned to the room right next door to let them know what was happening. And to apologize to them for the loud racket, as the maintenance guy went and got his large power drill and was basically removing the entire door knob and panel. So the guy had to destroy the whole door knob panel because the door lock screw or nut inside the panel was probably stripped and couldn't unlock or open the door; so if I was on the other side of the door I would have been stuck in the bathroom! This is a lovely hotel with extremely helpful staff. They helped us book reservations, with directions, and anything we asked them for, and always with a smile. The rooms are large enough, but most importantly, they are efficient. There is plenty of space in the oversized closet with drawers. There are multiple places to put luggage, a desk, and even a couple of sitting chairs and a table. We were very impressed with their breakfast. Not only did they have a lot of choices, but also many options for gluten-free diners (since I’m GF, I notice that). We were also impressed with the number of staff monitoring the dining room and replacing items as soon as they ran out. This hotel is also well-situated. Just down the street from Congress (Hofburg) and a 10-minute walk to Old Town. We highly recommend this hotel. One example of staff going out of their way for us was the night we decided to eat dinner at the hotel after being out all day and coming back dog tired. It was cold and rainy which precipitated the decision to stay in and eat in the hotel. Unfortunately we found out the hotel does not serve food on Sunday and Monday nights. Melike Y. helped us order a meal online from the equivalent of Uber Eats. Not only did she help us translate the menu and input the order, but she also called the restaurant to ensure they got the special order correct. When we went down to get our dinner the bartender, Ashok G. had plates, napkins, and silverware set out for us to use when our meal arrived. We didn't ask for any of that, he just did it on his own. Now that’s service!! As mentioned, the hotel is very well situated. Just down the street from Congress and about a 10-minute walk to Old Town. It’s right across the street from the Nordkette up to Innsbruck mountain and to the Zoo. Finally, we obviously dropped some money on the floor in our room and it went under the bed. The housekeeping staff found the money and laid it on the nightstand. We never would’ve known if we didn’t see it on the nightstand. The staff at this hotel couldn’t be nicer. We felt like they were family by the end of our stay. We highly recommend this hotel for any type of stay.

We originally had our main hotel stay booked in Hintertux. We were paying a lot for the hotel and after considering our long journey from Australia, we figured it may make sense to stay close to the airport at Innsbruck for our first day to get some sleep and continue our journey to Hintertux the next morning. We saved quite a bit of money making this decision and made a great choice! We walked to Penz West from the airport with four suitcases and four back packs. It was five minutes on foot and that was in thick snow! The room was way beyond our expectations for a hotel so close to the airport. It was very spacious, beautifully decorated and included breakfast that was simply magnificent. The hotel also had a wellness area including sauna, steam room, cold plunge shower and a gym. The price was extremely reasonable given all it had to offer us. The staff were very helpful and gave us some local tips about the town of Innsbruck (beautiful Christmas markets) and some mountain trips. We were too tired to do the mountain trips but enjoyed Innsbruck. We could easily have spent more time in this beautiful place and would not hesitate to book Penz West again if we are travelling this route. Mr 11 and 12 year old loved this place!

Nous avons passé une nuit dans cet hôtel lors d’un roadtrip. L’hôtel est magnifique et complètement au calme. Les chambres sont très spacieuses, avec une jolie terrasse et une literie très confortable. L’unique petit bémol est l’absence de climatisation mais cela semble être le cas dans bon nombre d’hôtels à la montagne. Il faisait très chaud lors de notre séjour et la nuit n’a donc pas été très reposante … Il y a un grand spa accessible gratuitement ainsi qu’une piscine et il est très agréable de s’y reposer. Le petit déjeuner était tout simplement extraordinaire : une grande variété de produits frais et raffinés. Le restaurant était malheureusement fermé le soir de notre séjour et ce fut un problème pour nous car nous étions en moto et aucun restaurant n’était accessible à une distance de marche raisonnable. C’est alors que Monique, la réceptionniste nous a tout naturellement proposé de prendre sa voiture afin de pouvoir aller manger ! Nous n’en revenions pas d’une telle gentillesse ! Nous n’avons pas osé partir toute une soirée avec sa voiture et l’avons donc empruntée afin d’aller chercher des pizzas à emporter non loin de l’hôtel. Elle nous a ensuite apporté les couverts nécessaires ainsi qu’une bouteille de vin. Nous avons réellement été touchés d’une telle gentillesse et je profite de ce commentaire pour la remercier à nouveau !
