"The location are amazing and also the hotel have a lot of green area, room was so comfy even I choose the standard room however every morning some staff shouted so loudly it’s wake me up due to there is no sound proof of the hotel! If they inform staff to not shout in the morning that’s would be nice! Ah one more thing, hotel breakfast was good and yummy!"

"Лучшее, что с нами случилось в Тайланде - полная тишина, уединение от суеты, релакс! На празднование Дня Рождения снимали отдельно стоящую виллу с видом на море. Отель новый, открыт в 2025 году. Команда отеля делает все, чтобы сохранить этот отель в таком же состоянии. У нас сложилось ощущение, что здесь работают самые приветливые тайцы. Номера шикарные, большие, бесплатно предоставили кровать для ребенка, все новенькое, чистое. Душевая как отдельная комната очень большая. Ванная на веранде супер. Территория шикарная, вечером очень красиво подсвечена, играет приятная, тихая музыка на ресепшен. Питание хорошее, можно было бы добавить немного разнообразия на завтраке. Бассейны большие, один расположен почти всегда в тени, второй такое ощущение, что прям в море, очень круто. Команда отеля очень старается, видно что реагируют на отзывы (до заезда читал, что на завтраках мухи по еде ползают и жарко). Отель сделал закрывающиеся сетки на еду и установил вентиляторы, очень бы хотелось еще вентиляторы сверху. Из минусов для нас - расположение, рядом скудный выбор кафе (но есть отличный ресторан в пеший доступности, где проходит файер шоу) и отсутствие массажных салонов. Но данные минусы полностью компенсируются уединенностью, тишиной, спокойным морем (немного мутновато, ежей не встретили за 4 дня) и тук туком, который довезет в самый центр за 10 минут. Что нужно исправить - ОЧЕНЬ долгая подача блюд в ресторане, том ям, креветки и суп для ребенка несли более часа, но было все приготовлено ОЧЕНЬ вкусно и команда отеля извинилась в виде скидки за такое длительное ожидание. WiFi действительно в номере работает не очень."

Location & Beach Access The resort's prime beachfront location is undoubtedly its strongest asset. Situated directly by a beautiful stretch of shallow, crystal-blue waters, it offers safe and perfect conditions for family sea bathing. The convenience factor is excellent – you're just a two-minute walk from the famous Sai Kaew Beach, the iconic Mermaid Monument, and the bustling Silversand Resort area. Accommodation & Ambience While the resort building itself shows its age, the refurbished rooms create a lovely ambience with beautiful lighting that transforms the older structure into something quite charming. We stayed on the third floor, which offered peaceful mountain views overlooking the national park forest rather than beach views. The setting is genuinely calm and quiet – exactly what we wanted for a family retreat. Important consideration: There's no elevator, so reaching upper floors requires quite a climb. As we joked, shuttling between the room and outside areas four times daily provides a workout in itself! This makes the resort unsuitable for elderly guests or anyone with mobility issues. Dining Experience The breakfast experience is delightful, served in a beachside restaurant where you can enjoy your meal with sand between your toes. The selection impresses with a good range of both Western and Thai options, including fresh fruits. The resort's beach restaurant serves quality food with excellent value for money – we tried multiple dishes and enjoyed them all. However, there's no room service, and the restaurant closes early (around 9:30-10 PM). When late-night cravings struck, we found the nearby 7-Eleven (just 5-6 minutes' walk) convenient for snacks. Room Amenities & Issues Room amenities are adequate though not luxurious. The shower area is well-designed with a spacious dressing area. However, we encountered an unpleasant odor from the bathroom drainage system that required some management during our stay. Activities & Surroundings For water activities like parasailing, snorkeling, and jet skiing, you'll need to walk to Sai Kaew Beach to find service providers – fortunately, we found excellent options there. Final Verdict Avatara Resort succeeds as a family-friendly destination that balances beachfront access, peaceful ambience, and reasonable pricing. While it has some limitations (no elevator, early restaurant closure, minor maintenance issues), the overall experience was enjoyable and memorable. Recommended for: Families seeking a calm beach getaway who don't mind some stairs and prefer a quieter resort atmosphere. Consider alternatives if: You need elevator access, late-night dining options, or luxury amenities."

"We recently stayed at Samet Cabana Resort on Ao Wong Duean, and it was exactly the tropical escape we were looking for. We booked the Beach Cabana, and we cannot recommend it enough. The Room: Staying in the Beach Cabana meant waking up to the sound of the waves every morning. Stepping out onto the porch with a view of the ocean was the highlight of the trip. The room was clean, comfortable, and had that authentic island bungalow feel while still having modern amenities (the AC worked great!). Being just a few steps from the water made all the difference. The Location: Ao Wong Duean is a fantastic beach, it’s lively enough to have good restaurants and fire shows at night, but much more relaxed than the busy main pier area. The water was clear and great for swimming right in front of the resort. Service & Food: The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, from check-in to check-out. The breakfast buffet had a good mix of options to start the day. If you are coming to Koh Samet, do yourself a favour and splurge a little for the Beach Cabana. It transforms the trip from a standard hotel stay into a real beach holiday. We’ll definitely be back!"

"Newly renovated rooms; comfortable & cleaned. Beautiful private peaceful beach. All the hotel staff that we had contacted did excellent jobs. Enjoyed live music & a fire show in the evening. We gave 200 THB to the fire show men. Frankly speaking, their fire show skills are much better than Hawaii. (Except, no hip dance) It would be nice if the other hotel guests would have given them some tips, too. Everything was good, except the music at the restaurant by the beach was a bit too loud. I will return to stay at this hotel again if I go to Samed next time."

"### Review of Samed Grandview Resort We recently stayed at Samed Grandview Resort and had a wonderful experience overall. The resort's location is stunning, with beautiful views and a relaxing atmosphere that made our stay enjoyable. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring all our needs were met. However, we felt that the beach entertainment could use some improvement. While the idea of music on the beach is great, the selection and execution were somewhat lacking, making it a bit boring at times. As professionals in the entertainment industry, we believe there are ways to enhance the experience for guests, such as incorporating a more diverse music selection or live performances. We truly enjoyed our time here and would love to see the entertainment aspect elevated for an even better guest experience. Thank you for considering our feedback! 🙏🏻"

"Overall the hotel has certainly fallen over the past 3 years and it’s pretty sad to see this happen, if you’re a single traveler or a couple I would recommend but I couldn’t recommend the hotel to families in its current state. Management: Great management they listen to complaints, they are responsible and try to solve all issues. Sadly the management don’t have so much to work with these days. General staff: A large percentage of the staff are Cambodian and living in limbo with the current issues between both countries. With the exception of one or two Cambodian staff most are either depressed and miserable or damn right rude, unhelpful and disrespectful. (The floor manager explained this himself) Rooms: Nice and simple rooms the do the job but aging fast. The rooms look good but are not high quality materials and it shows the labor and material quality is low and cheap. Showers have virtually no pressure when the hotel is busy and the water won’t reach higher than luke-warm. Location: I have to say it’s one of the best locations on the island when considering location and facilities and I guess this is their main selling point. They have shops, bars, restaurants, coffee shop and more. Patrons: Most of the year the majority of visitors are going to be Tha and Asian, they are respectful, they have manners and they will be great to holiday alongside. During Christmas to New Year there were too many rude Europeans especially Swedish tourists, these tourists camped and took over large areas of the bar and restaurants, they moved around furniture, they were rude and disrespectful to other tourists leaving trash noise and mess wherever they visited. (Staff and management ignored) Note: This used to be a great hotel and I have continuously visited over the past several years. Unfortunately I have begun to see a degradation of the hotel, the attitude towards western tourists (due to poor behavior of westerners) as well as issues related to the diplomatic issues between Cambodia and Thailand. I due hope this improves in the future. With new staff or new immigration laws as well as new investment into the hotel it could easily thrive once more."
