Das Hotel The Crown Handwritten Collection in Krakau hat mich durch seine exzellente Lage, nur 10 Gehminuten von der Altstadt entfernt, beeindruckt. Es ist ein wundervolles Boutique-Hotel, das Charme und Eleganz ausstrahlt. Das Frühstück war eine wahre Meisterleistung, eine gelungene Mischung aus einer Etagere, einem Buffet und einem erstklassigen à la carte Service. Diese kulinarische Vielfalt machte den Morgen zu einem besonderen Erlebnis. Ein rundum gelungener Aufenthalt in einer bezaubernden Umgebung.

Nice quiet room really close to the old town. Really convenient with a shop next to the hotel. Recommended if visiting Krakow really happy with my stay there

A good sized and well located hotel, it’s just a short stroll from the main train station and a few minutes’ walk to the old town. Décor wise it feels quite dated, both in the reception area and the rooms, but everything was clean, tidy and in full working order. The room was just about an adequate size, we had requested a twin which came with one double bed and one single, and there was little or no room to the side of each bed with one being up against the wall and one against the windows. Two singles would have worked a little better perhaps. There was also a small sofa and a small round table. The beds were very comfy and our room was facing on to the internal courtyard so no noise from outside at all, although being adjacent to the lift we did get a bit of noise from that, but nothing too intrusive. The temperature in both the room and the rest of the hotel was far too warm, quite hot in fact. There was an air conditioning unit in the room, but using energy to both heat the room and then cool it seems ridiculous. The shower was on the small side, but hot and powerful. Other facilities included tea/coffee making facilities, complimentary bottles of water, TV and a safe. Breakfast was a help yourself buffet affair, with the only hot options being a frankfurter style sausage and scrambled egg. There was a good cold spread though, with meats, cheeses, tomato & mozzarella, hard boiled eggs and a few mixed up concoctions – presumably the Polish equivalents of coleslaw and potato salad, but whatever they were, they were quite pleasant, and also some cereals. What was very much lacking was any prepared fruit (just a few whole apples), yoghurts (none at all) and pastries (just bread and rolls). Overall, I thought this was a pretty good hotel given the price, it’s a very good location, staff were friendly enough and I’d have no problem with recommending it if you’re on a tight budget.

I arrived at the hotel around 10:00 pm after a long journey - I was greeted with information that the system was down and it was not possible to check me into the room I booked and that I had to wait in the bar area. Fortunately, the complications did not last long, otherwise it would be reasonable to offer at least a glass of water while waiting for the problem to be solved. However, this is a detail compared to the point: in the room I had no way to turn off the fan, which was so loud that I couldn't sleep. I reported the problem at the reception the next day and asked to turn off the fan - I received information that at the moment there is no such possibility, because the person responsible and able to do it is currently not at work. As a solution, I was offered earplugs, which are very uncomfortable for me to sleep in, but as they say ”better than nothing”. I was hoping for a shade of relaxation during my two-day stay, and as a result I left the hotel with a headache. Two nights of sleep deprivation, annoying ”humming” of the fan in the room and the inability to open the window = drama.

A lovely hotel very clean with friendly helpful staff that is only a short walk to the Jewish quarter. If you walk the short distance to the river you can follow it to the main castle that then leads you up into the main town and square. We took a short river cruise (approximately one hour) that was very enjoyable. My wife an I can recommend Starka restaurant which is only a short walk from the hotel. A trip to the salt mine approximately 45 minutes is well worth it.

We recently stopped at the AC Hotel by Marriot Krakow for a three-day city break. Let’s talk about the positives first… The hotel is in a great location, it is not too far from the city centre but is on the outskirts, a few minutes’ walk from a large green recreational ground which was lovely. A Bolt (Somewhat a European version of Uber) was almost instantly available at the hotel, and we never waited more than four minutes. A Bolt cab into the city was approximately £2.50 which was great too. The hotel is clearly very new, and this shows with its modern design and use of LED ***** lights which look amazing at night-time. The reception area is modern, has free coffee machines (for use between 1000 hours and 1600 hours) and has a bar within, which again, is very nice. The spa was lovely and is included within the price of the room. We visited at approximately 0900 hours, and it was very quiet which was nice, at one point, we were the only people within the spa. Though, don’t allow looks to deceive you. There were some annoyances with the AC Hotel by Marriot Krakow, and I think it is important to raise them. Firstly, the hotel is next to a building site, which is not evident from the pictures of the hotel’s website or online listings. We paid for an upgraded room with a balcony so you can imagine the disappointment when we learnt it was overlooking a very loud and dusty building site – so much so that the balcony was unusable. Secondly, the AC. (Not the name, the air conditioning!). This hotel uses the AC controls which link in with the windows and doors to prevent loss of energy, which is all well and good when it works. Ours seemed to glitch out constantly and as such locked the AC in the off position. We rung reception after spending a few hours in unbearable heat to be told that there was nobody who could help in the evenings and that they’d send someone in the morning. Fine, so we went to bed only to be woken by someone an hour later who said that they had come to look at the AC. We got up whilst the lady, what can only be described as “faffed” with the AC and then shrugged her shoulders and left – without resolving the issue. Now, if we could have opened the window, or the balcony door, to solve the issue then it wouldn’t have been as much as a big deal, yet it was a trade off between unbearable heat or construction site noise and dust. Another annoyance is when we ordered room service. We telephoned down to the bar and asked if they sold “Sauvignon Blanc”. We were told that they did and that it was however much. I asked for two bottles, and they said that they’d send someone up with it. 45-minutes later, the first waitress arrived with a trolley, an ice bucket, two wine glasses and two bottles of Chardonnay. We explained that we had ordered Sauvignon Blanc and that we would be grateful if she wouldn’t mind swapping it for the correct wine. Very nice very clean very comfy hotel The price was very good, room maintained everyday fresh sheets fresh towels Very big rooms very happy with my stay here Only thing I would suggest is asking for a room which doesn’t face the road side, there’s a crossing with a little ticking noise that you can hear from very early morning

Excellent hotel in the heart of the Jewish Quarter, close to many quality bars and restaurants. Rooms are compact, but spotless and most importantly, a good shower and bathroom. Breakfast was typically European, plentiful and good quality. Good coffee, tea and jucies etc. Bed was extremely comfortable, only noise I heard was the refuse trucks, but nothing the hotel can do about that, it wasn't really early though. Krakow Grzegorzki railway station 10 min walk, trains to Wieliczka Salt Mine & Auschwitz from here, you pay conductor on train, very cheap & easy. Stradom Tram stop 10 mins opposite direction, buy tickets at the machine at the stop. Tourist tickets available, up to 72 hrs, minimum is 20 mins. The tickets work on buses as well, they can be one zone or 3 zone. Lots of museums, galleries, churches and exhibitions very close by, and others easily accessible by public transport or taxi. Plac Nowy, 2 mins away has a rotunda with varied street food stalls, and different types of market during the day Staff are extremely helpful and courteous, any problems resolved immediately. Rooms were cleaned every day to a high standard. Lift worked all the time and WiFi was good. This was my second visit to Krakow, and a return stay here would be no problem.

Hotel lovely and clean, the rooms are basic but cleaned well every day, coffee and tea and bottled water in your room every day, our children stay in the room next door, i paid for a 3 bedroom but it only had a sofa bed in that was a bit small. Breakfast was lovely, lots to choose from. bar staff friendly and help full reception very helpful the hotel is about 3 miles from the main town and we got a taxi that was about £4.00 each way but more in busier times!

Hotel was nice, friendly reception staff who were helpful. Outside of city centre had to get tram 4, which on initial arrival was very difficult to locate. Luckily a lovely polish man took us to the tram stop, god bless him. Trams very cheap indeed. Went on 2 tours - Auschwitz & Salt mines, downside being had to get a taxi to a pick up hotel closer to the city centre. But cost approx £6. Both tours were well worth it. Breakfast in hotel was good. No water available in rooms just coffee. Found the bathroom was very hot powerful shower but room slightly cold. Turned up thermostat but didn’t seem to get any warmer. Slept well, little noise. Lift available.
