Das Hotel liegt zentral in Neuhaus am Rennweg. Für uns war es der Ausgangspunkt unserer Wanderung auf dem Rennsteig. Der Empfang war sachlich ok. Wir erhielten ein Zimmer im 1. OG. Das Zimmer war mit reichlich Deko ganz nett hergerichtet, aber der alte „Charme“ ist nicht ganz zu verbergen. Für unseren Hund wartete eine Decke sowie Näpfe im Zimmer. Sehr gut! Das Restaurant besuchten wir nicht, dafür aber später die Bar, die mit einer stattlichen Auswahl verschiedener Gins aufwartet. Der Service war nebenbei mit dem Vorbereiten des Frühstücksbüffets beschäftigt, weshalb wir immer wieder mal auf uns aufmerksam machen mussten. Das Frühstück, das uns am nächsten Morgen erwartete, war sehr gut. Allein die halben Kiwis in der Obstschale fanden wir etwas sonderbar, zumal diese bereits am Abend zuvor da lagen.
