Hotel di Mafuri

Just left after a 9 night stay,without exception all staff were excellent-if honest after booking and seeing some of the poorer reviews I was quite worried that we may have selected the wrong hotel,which would spoil what was a ‘bucket list ‘ holiday from the UK,but all our expectations were met. We wished to visit an authentic,traditional location rather than a modern hotel on an Island, hence why we chose Medhufushi. We would recommend use of the seaplane transfer,it is 2.5 hours by speedboat which I would envisage could be quite uncomfortable after travelling over 12 hours from Europe. Food was good and varied,European food very British orientated plus many curries-do try the nann bread which is baked in front of you-exceptional! My wife tells me the Spa was excellent,highly recommended. There is a nice relaxed feel to the resort and it grows on you ! ,comments made about the beach do seem harsh for what is a natural environment and conditions are what nature creates….! We stayed in a beach villa-it was rustic and of traditional design and interior which we expected - believe me I have spent many a soulless stay in immaculate 5 Star ‘sterile’ hotel rooms and suites ,which is not what we wanted for this holiday . Special thanks to Dinesh who looked after our room,Sheriff who served us in the restaurant,all Villu Bar staff and everyone around the pool-really we could find little to fault. The most magical place on earth. There is so much to do and see, you will not be disappointed. The staff are absolutely amazing, they’re friendly, approachable and take care of you so much! They have definitely made our holiday extra special! We would love to say a special thank you to Pallabi, Naudaua, Kamithe and Shaktui for making this the best experience ever! And thank you to all the other staff on the island. Hopefully we will see you all very soon!
