"Excellent Family Experience at Parkroyal Penang Resort
Our recent stay at Parkroyal Penang Resort was truly enjoyable and memorable. From the moment we arrived, every staff member — from the parking guards and bellmen to the café, restaurant, pool, and housekeeping teams — was genuinely friendly, helpful, and welcoming.
Special thanks to Ms. Elita and Ms. Hema for their warm hospitality during check-in and clear explanation about the resort facilities. Appreciation also to Ku Irham, who patiently showed us several room options and helped us choose the most suitable one for our family. The view from our room was lovely — I could watch my child playing in the pool below and still enjoy a nice beach view.
Grateful to Mr. Alfizan, the bellman, for his kind help with our luggage, and to the Chinese housekeeping lady (Level 2 near the kids’ pool) for her thoughtful reminder to keep our balcony door closed when monkeys were around — such great attention to detail!
We also truly appreciated the complimentary birthday cake for my wife. It was a wonderful gesture that made our stay extra special.
Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices, room was clean and cool, and the atmosphere throughout the resort was relaxing and family-friendly.
Highly recommended for families looking for a warm and welcoming beach resort in Penang. We’ll definitely come back again!"

"I recently stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Penang, Batu Ferringhi, and honestly, I’ve never been so disappointed with a Hilton property.
The room we were given was dusty and had plaster bagworms (household casebearers) almost everywhere; on the curtains, the ceiling, and even one crawling on the bed. When we called reception to report it, they offered to change our room but said they couldn’t give us the same setup (we needed two single beds since I was traveling with a friend).
We then asked for housekeeping to at least clean the room. When the staff member arrived, even he was shocked by the number of insects and said he had never seen them before. He called the reception himself to report how serious the issue was. and only then did they suddenly manage to find a similar room available on another floor.
Since it was already close to midnight, we agreed to move. Unfortunately, the new room was smaller, still dusty, and although there were fewer bagworms, we still saw some near the curtains.
Overall, the whole experience left a bad impression. The location is good, and breakfast was excellent, but the cleanliness and response to the issue were unacceptable, especially for a Hilton brand.
I truly hope the management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the pest and housekeeping issues because the potential of this hotel is there; but the current state doesn’t justify the price at all."

"Arrived around 6pm and checked in was smooth. Not much people at the lobby. Staff were professional and work fast. Room cleanliness was acceptable. Aircond and wifi works well. Overall it was a good stay."

"I had a delightful two-night stay at Shangri-La Penang! The lush greenery and big old trees provided lovely shade, creating a relaxing atmosphere while I sit near the pool or beach. The beach offered nice sunset view, but I am unsure if it’s swimmable
We stayed in the Rasa Wing room, which came with lounge access and complimentary cocktails in the evening. The staff were warm and friendly, making us feel right at home.
While the hotel shows some age, it’s clear they’re working hard to maintain everything. Overall, it was a wonderful getaway, and recommend 👍🏻
Our Rasa Garden room had some water flow / plumbing noises (from the ceiling), even when we are not using the bathroom. Not sure if it’s because of old age building / old building design."

"The apartment is nice and spacy and reasonably priced. Could stay there again. The check in procedure is quite complicated as the complex is run by a number of agents and individual owners. We eventually figured it out and the rest of the stay was good."

JJacq SFor our trip to Escape Theme Park, this accommodation was perfect! (Location wise)
The host thoughtfully switched on the air conditioner and lights before our arrival, making us feel comfortable and welcomed.
The spacious layout more than enough for our group of 3 families (10 people in total). The photos shown accurately reflect the unit.
Cleanliness was spot-on, and the most impressive part was the bed comfort, it was of excellent quality. All the pillows smelled fresh, and everything was well-prepared.
The only minor was the RM500 deposit, which is only returned 3 to 5 days after checkout, and I had to send a reminder to the host on the 6th day. I'm used to receiving the deposit back the day after checking out.
However, this did not affect our stay at all, overall, it was a great experience with the unit!
Most importantly, thanks to the Trip platform for the worthwhile promo price!

KKartinaThe room is very spacious and clean. Comfy bed but lack of necessity furniture such as dressing table with mirror, closet to hang clothes and towels. Customer service assistance is very prompt. Since there is no hangers provided, we request some hangers and do got it the same day. Tqvm. Things to be improved :-

It's hygienic and clean, the environment is very good, the handsome guy at the counter has a sincere attitude and can speak Chinese. Because I didn't do my homework well and didn't bring an adapter plug, the handsome guy even lent me one to use. Thank you so much! !

JJassie’s momOverall the stay was good. The hotel is very close to the sea. The room is spacious. But it overlooks the hallway so the curtains should be closed all the time. Breakfast was included but i got it only the first day. The next day they said they are out of it. When i arrived there was nobody at the reception and the door was locked so i couldn’t let my stuff there and had to carry with me.
