Hotel berhampiran Gare de Marseille St.Charles, Marseille

Had my second stay here, this time in a lovely top floor room with views out across the city towards Notre Dame. Huge LG TV, lovely Nuxe toiletries, monsoon shower, and excellent housekeeping - everything spotless. Good North-African themed tapas in the hotel restaurant, and the guy in charge there was particularly helpful/friendly, recommending which bits of the city had good street art when I mentioned that was one of the main reasons I came to M****ille (Cours Julien fyi, which also has some fab cafes and vintage shops). My only gripe was the handling of the bill (as follows). My debit card was pre-authorised on arrival (and in excess of the actual cost of the room, but I assumed this to be an additional security deposit or similar, do didn't really feel too concerned at the time). When it came to checkout, it was agreed that we would let the pre-authorised amount stand, and I would be refunded the difference between that and the actual, final bill. However, when I checked my bank balance 3 days later I was shocked to find that I'd been billed for the full amount again, and the pre-authorised amount had not been released - so essentially I'd been charged twice (or twice and a bit, when you allow for the fact the first billing was an over-estimate anyway). This follows on from a cancelled pre-paid booking the previous year (due to Covid restrictions) that was supposed to be fully refundable, which I also really struggled to get back (it was eventually repaid but quite belatedly). So, I'm not saying don't stay here, because it is a really nice hotel in a very vibrant area (lots of cafes with fab Oriental pastries, markets etc) but you will really need to be on top of the financial side of things to ensure you aren't left out of pocket.

Positiv: Zentral gelegenes und ruhiges Hotel (wenn auch etwas schwierig zu finden). Das kleine Zimmer war zweckmäßig eingerichtet, bequemes Bett. Negativ: Mondpreise für ein Budget Hotel! Da ich einen vermeintlich günstigeren Preis online bezahlt habe gab es keine Raumreinigung. Ich durfte also eigenhändig meinen Müll rausbringen. Auf meine Bitte nach einigen Tagen Aufenthalt doch wenigstens die Handtücher auszutauschen geschah gar nichts. Man vertröstete mich, dass am nächsten Tag das Zimmer gereinigt werde. Daraufhin habe ich meinen Aufenthalt verlängert. Es erfolgte keine Reinigung und außerdem wollte man mich böse abzocken in dem man einen 33% höheren Preis abverlangte. Preis-Leistung passt hier leider gar nicht. Unsympathisches unprofessionelles Personal.

Really nice! I loved how you can have your own space by closing the curtain. The beds didn't make any noise or movements when you climb into the upper bed. Maybe a small improvement: sign for where the reception/checkin is or some arrows. Overall had a nice stay, very cozy place and clean and good working services

Un hôtel qui ne mériterait même pas une seule étoile, et encore ! La climatisation pour le seul accueil, rien dans les chambres à part des odeurs insoutenables et inexpliquées, peut-être l’absence de ménage suivi, de propreté des murs et de la salle de bain, à moins qu’elles proviennent des rideaux du siècle dernier, doubles rideaux uniquement, pas de voilage pour la journée. L’exigüité de la chambre ne nous a pas permis d’étaler la valise au sol ! Une épaisseur de matelas pour lit de nouveau-né. Accueil sans chaleur, ni plaisir, une entrée constituée d’escaliers sans ascenseur jusqu’au premier étage, lieu du fameux accueil climatisé, un ascenseur d’une seule personne avec une valise, ce dernier fut vandalisé dès notre première soirée, ce qui nous contraint à descendre les 5 étages à pied avec nos valises ! Vandalisé par un client mécontent de ne pouvoir fermer l’œil à cause de la discothèque sous les fenêtres… excessif mais plutôt logique, non ? Je ne cautionne pas la violence, tout comme la publicité mensongère. Une adresse à exclure de tous les sites hôteliers, un établissement qui devrait être fermé pour insalubrité et le comble, le patron me réclama 114€ pour une nuit (pour deux personnes alors que le tarif derrière la porte annonçait 93€ en pleine saison !) au ventilateur de guingois dont la face avant trônait sur la moquette usée. Devrais-je vous parler du téléviseur grand comme un écran d’ordinateur de 14 pouces… non inutile, fuyez vers de vrais hôtels étoilés qui ne mentent pas sur les prestations. Méfiez-vous des commentaires truffés de fautes d’orthographes, ils sont fabriqués par la direction… Une honte pour la ville de la Bonne Mère, une honte et un parjure.

Excellent accueil, personnel des plus aimables, confort de la literie excellent , la propreté de la salle de bain peut mieux faire. Proximité des transports en commun et des centres commerciaux en fait un hôtel à recommander sans hésiter.

What makes this place special are the people. Yes, it is modern, tastefully designed and immaculate with great access to public transport and a couple of local treasures, the front desk with Tata, Tania and Sujata, complete with broad smiles and great local knowledge are a compliment to manager Emmanuel and Mr Fixit, Julian.

Super accueil, logement très propres, literie excellente, bien insonorisé, bien situé (prés du métro Chartreux), clim, serviette en nombre (5), torchon vaisselle et liquide vaisselle gel douche, cafetière à filtre, poêle et casserole, mug tasse assiette ciseau, saut ballai ....Rien ne manque!

Hôtel convenable pour un 3 étoiles situé près du métro Perrier, un carrefour City juste à côté 7/7. L’endroit est propre mais pas nickel ( les angles ne sont pas fait) petit coin cuisine avec vaisselles dépareillées bouilloire mais pas machine à café . L’hôtel est silencieux, les chambres sont bien chauffées. Personnels disponibles

On coming from the airport I didn’t find the hotel easy to locate. The entrance has steps in front of it and I had to lug my suitcase up them which wasn’t at all practical. Whether or not there was a ramp somewhere I have no idea, but I didn’t see one in the dark. After a frosty reception I found the room perfectly adequate and very quiet. The bed was comfortable. There was no water in the room which I found surprising and a small bottle would have been appreciated. The bathroom was very clean and modern and had very nice toiletries. The staff in the morning were very friendly and the breakfast was very good. The scrambled eggs were delicious. Overall the stay was okay but next time I will stay nearer the airport.
