I stayed here for one night ahead of a trip on the Bernina Express. Firstly, I’d have to comment on the fact that, despite its name suggesting otherwise, the hotel is not really that central. It may be reasonably central to what was the old town of Tirano, but it is quite a bit further from the railway station (the main attraction for most visitors, I’d imagine) than many of its competitors. If, like me, you’re trailing heavy luggage behind you, then be aware it’s a good 7-10 minute walk across uneven, cobbled streets with few pavements. All of that said, the hotel was quiet, very clean and generally well presented. Decorative finishes in the bedroom were somewhat dated but the bed itself was very comfortable. A hospitality tray with kettle, a well-stocked mini bar and a decent rain shower were good features. Breakfast was very pleasant but did not offer much in the way of choice of some items, with the bread offering and fresh fruit selections being somewhat limited. Like many hotels these days, a key card is required to operate the room’s powered services such as lighting and ventilation. In public areas, motion sensors do the job. The slightly annoying thing about this property is that the lights seemed to go out nano seconds after passing through a previously unlit area or removing the key card to exit the room. Whilst saving energy and keeping costs low is clearly important for everyone, this felt over zealous and somewhat stingy. Finally, my biggest criticism of the Hotel Centrale would be the exceptionally early checkout time of 10.00am. Bearing in mind that that this hotel rates itself as a 4-star property, this seems an unreasonably early hour to expect guests to have quit their accommodation. Even most budget hotels these days afford guests a checkout time of closer to mid day . Overall, a comfortable enough stay but with some issues which might make me less inclined to either return myself or recommend this hotel to others.

This was a great hotel to spend a night before catching the Bernia Express! Breakfast was great!!! Excellent staff who also recommended a great restaurant for dinner, made reservations and the food was amazing- Parravinici! We walked from the train station but preferred a taxi in the morning which they arranged for us. The walk is doable but we are 70 and in decent shape but preferred to start the day easy!😀 Highly recommend this very special hotel!!!

Camere non insonorizzate, nonostante non fossi direttamente affacciata sulla strada, si sentiva il traffico sostenuto sulla strada principale che attraversa Tirano, ho soggiornato con lammia cagnolina, camera costo 48 euro, supplemento cane 20. In 15 anni che viaggio con il cane, è il supplemento più caro in assoluto. Ho esternato il mio disappunto alla reception. Sono consapevole che alcuni htl applicano un supplemento ma sarebbe più corretto scriverlo sul sito . 20 euro è quasi il 40 per cento della tariffa. Non ci sono parcheggi gratuiti , se non vicino alla zona della stazione. Nota positiva la gentilezza della signora in sala colazione, molto disponibile. Se dovete soggiornare una notte, andate senza cane e con i tappi.

I visit family in Tirano every year and after staying at most hotels in town this is the hotel I now return to each time. Good location right in the heart of town with just a few steps to the train station. Excellent breakfast buffet with plenty to choose from. Pleasant staff at reception with a bar so you can sit out the front and watch the world go by. The rooms are functional quiet. You would do well to choose the superior rooms rather than the standard ones.

Ho soggiornato in questa struttura con un'amica nel mese di luglio. Abbiamo scelto questa struttura convinti dalle foto che la presentava molto bene, rivelatasi in realtà una delusione su tutti gli aspetti. Vi descrivo brevemente la nostra esperienza. La struttura per carità è nuova, a prima vista si presenta bene. Moderna...ma... Abbiamo prenotato una camera doppia con letto matrimoniale (check in effettuato con i documenti di entrambi come richiesto). A prima vista tutto molto bella ma da una più attenta valutazione sono usciti fuori tutte le anomalie. Nell'ordine: - pavimento della camera (non del bagno) pieno di peli e capelli spalmati per terra. Sicuramente con lo stesso straccio sporco utilizzato per il bagno sono stati puliti i pavimenti della camera. Oltre ai capelli vicino al letto erano presenti diverse macchie scure - frigorifero mini della camera sporco internamente - bagno: rotolo di carta igienica già cominciato...era a metà e mezzo sporco. Braccio doccia in equilibrio precario montato sulla parete di cartongesso sicuramente con tasselli non adatti. Camera prenotata per due mancavano gli asciugamani per entrambi. Un solo telo doccia. Uno solo per il bidet. Pessimo. Considerato il prezzo non proprio economico (110€) tutto molto pessimo...ah colazione non inclusa.
