Hotel di Monte Gordo

The hotel is very clean, friendly and staffs are very welcoming, pleasant and attentive to the need of each customers. Rooms very spacious, airy and bright. Breakfast buffet is well stocked up and with plenty of choices for various requirements of clients. Swimming pool is a bonus due to extreme heat outside, water very cold and would appreciate the water being bit warmer. Vast car park is a plus, busy parking around hotel perimeter. Esta ultima ha sido mi tercera vez en el hotel y sin duda la más decepcionante. Hemos ocupado dos habitaciones durante tres dias. Seis noches en total. El motivo de mi disgusto es que solo se nos ha arreglado la habitación en tres ocasiones de las seis contratadas. Nuestros horarios han sido dejar las habitaciones a las diez de la mañana, regresar a las tres y volver a salir a las seis de la tarde. En mi opinión tiempo mas que de sobra para tener las habitaciones listas. Lo comunicamos en recepción y la respuesta fue que había que esperar a las siete de la tarde que es la hora límite de la limpieza. Añadir también que una tarde sin avisar entraron en la habitación de mis hijos con ellos dentro y a nosotros nos despertaron llamando a la puerta. Como refiero es la tercera vez que nos alojábamos en el hotel y hasta ahora muy bien, pero esta vez no ha sido así. Pagamos muchísimo dinero en un hotel de cuatro estrellas para pasar tres dias, puedo entender que el hotel esté lleno, pero si hace falta más personal se le debe contratar.

Nice hotel in a great location on the fantastic beach. Rooms are ok - nothing special. We had a ”superior” room which had a larger entrance hall with a single bed in it pretending to be a sofa. Not really very superior!!! The restaurant, bar, and housekeeping staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The restaurant is 100% buffet and can be a bit of a bun fight. Sharp elbows would be helpful. Reception is in desperate need of refurbishment....very dated and dreary. The reception staff are not at all helpful nor are they very visible. Would we go again? Yes- because we know what to expect. We wouldn't bother with a superior room; we would be more canny about when to use the restaurant and we would avoid reception at all costs.

Is it a very comfy hotel and location is super convenient in the huge supermarket and centres everywhere just 15 min walk and go to islands ferry port is 20min u can buy tickets there for 4 4€ , the concept is new inside the mall is the hotel and have nice Decor model , just the breakfast can be improved

Por ser mais sossegado foi nos proposto um quarto no segundo andar o qual tem acesso pelo exterior e não se parece nada com as fotografias que constam no Site. Quando abri a cama deparei me com o lençol sujo, o qual foi trocado porque solicitamos. O colchão é muito mole e os lençóis muito curtos e demasiado usados, quando me mexia desprendia se e ficava a dormir direto no colchão. O lavatório está partido. A torneira do bidé quase não deita água e é tudo muito básico. Quando regressamos ao quarto ao fim do dia cheira a limpeza mas o meu conceito de limpeza passa por um pouco mais do que passar a esfregona no chão. Não voltarei e não posso recomendar.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay here very much. The room and bathroom were both very spacious. They did feel a bit outdated though, but that was part of the charm. The bed was quite hard though, so the sleep quality wasn't optimal. Our room had a small terrace with a lovely view: ideal to enjoy the warm summer evening and very practical to dry your swimsuit and towels. We really enjoyed the quiet location of the hotel and the beautiful views on the Spanish hills on the other side of the river Guadiana. The hotel staff was very friendly and although we arrived to early they let us into the room before check-in time. We booked a boat ride in the hotel, which was the highlight of our stay. The captain of the boat turned out to be a gentleman from the Netherlands and offered us the opportunity to steer the boat for a while. We really had a great time! The swimming pool is big enough to cool down after a hot day. We didn't succeed in conquering one of the sunbeds (we didn't mind, we only went there for a swim), so if you like relaxing by the pool, make sure to arrive at the moment the pool opens. The food and drinks in the bar are good. The dishes are simple, but tasty and the wine was poured very generously. I have to complement the cook the prepared the English breakfast. I loved every bit of it!

The week before Christmas was the perfect time to enjoy this lovely hotel. It's well designed and well equipped. The rooms are a good size. The roof terrace a sun trap ideal for sun bathing and reading in December. The food was delicious. The staff were really helpful and friendly and all just five minutes walk to the enormous and largely empty beach. Monte Gordo is a bit busy for my taste in the summer but for a sunny winters break this was heavenly.

Hotel was very close to the beach with bars and shops within easy distance. A lovely decorated foyer area with good helpful staff. Room was adequate but not large. A small balcony overlooked the road and a side view to the beach. beds were good and the only down side was there were no hot drink making faciklities. It had 2 lifts, one of which was out of action for our stay, this wasnt really an isue as the hotel didnt seem that busy, nut could be a bigger problem when it was. Room was attended to and beds made every day. I thought the restaurant was lovely well set out and not to busy, although it was just out of season. The restaurant staff were probably the most attentive I have yet to see in a hotel. always smiling and removing used plates and utensils quickly. Breakfast was a good a great choice of prepared fresh and tinned fruits, a small choice of hot food, yogurts, pastries, cooked meats etc. Fruit juice, tea and coffee machines. Evening meal always had a soup, choice of fish and meat, along with selection of vegetables. a huge array of salad items and probably the best display of chilled deserts ive seen in most hotels. The only down side to the food was.. I never had any food that was actually hot, it all seemed just luke warm to me. The roof area was quiet and the pool not large, but adequate for a little dip. A bar was open on the roof if you required a drink. All in all, a great 5 days away at an unbeleivable price for what we got. SHould I return to Monte Gordo, I wouldnt hessitate to stay again.

This was our first stay at the Hotel Apolo. It is located across from the market in Vila Real de Santo António. The rooms were clean, the staff was very friendly, and moderately priced. They do have a pool but it was too cold out ,so not sure it was even open. Check in, and check out was very easy. Would stay there again if we visit again.
