Hillview Farmstay

The welcome by the owners was very warm. The ingredients for the breakfast fresh off the farm were amazing! Feeding and learning more about the animals was a lovely treat. Great cottage with excellent amenities. Wish we could have stayed a bit longer and explored all the trails.

We stayed in one of the safari glamping tents and had a wonderful time. Great location, doesn't require any detours if you're driving between Sydney and Melbourne and it's a fun, different experience to a usual motel. Beautiful views, kids enjoyed feeding the animals in the morning and having others roaming the paddocks just outside our tent. Hosts were very friendly and plenty of things provided for breakfast, just remember to pre-order or bring your own supplies for other meals to cook on the provided BBQ.

The accommodation is great for couples and families. We went with friends and our young children who loved being able to ride their bikes around freely, feed the animals and enjoy being in nature. The buggy ride is an extra expense but well worth it, especially for the kids. We have been several times and always prioritise staying here when we travel between Melbourne and Sydney as it's a perfect half way point.

We were passing through on our way to Adelaide for business travelling. We stayed at Hillview Farmstay for one night but the atmosphere and view over here are fantastic, providing us with good relaxation after the long drive. The staffs are very friendly and welcome. Will be here and spend more time exploring next time!:)

We were allocated the Bird Nest Villa, which was great as it was further from the main Road - Hume Highway, which is noisy with constant traffic. Being constant was good, as we heard no sirens. Constant you do get used to somewhat. Villa is well set out, with lounge / dining/ full kitchen all in one room with large bedroom in a separate room. Good breakfast provided, with eggs, bacon, bread and lots of spreads. BBQ outside on a good sized deck. Close to the pool. Villas well set out on this large property, so people noise was nil. The bathroom looks new, and very nice Except for space. It should have been built with least another 20cm wider, as it is very hard to get in and our of the shower and we are not large people. Donna is the onsite manager, and very good to chat with about the animals. Enjoyed helping to feed the goats, calves, chickens, and collecting the eggs in the afternoon. Great experience. Donna is a dedicated worker, loves the animals, and loves living onsite. We were most unimpressed with the lack of communication though, from Ruth the owner. She was the one that sent information, but did not reply to any messages we sent or phone calls. This certainly needs to be improved. One message received was about the animal feeding times, 3.30pm & 4.30pm were mentioned, and after walking down to the area, and waiting for a while, was told by the cleaner that there was no feeding today. I repeat the communication was pretty poor from Ruth. Donna needs to be the allocated person to contact, being onsite. Not the owner who lives a long way away. We were in the area a little early, as only driving from Albury. We rang and sent a text, but no reply. It seems we could have certainly arrive a little earlier for our stay.

The feeling of camping but with the luxury and convenience of all the necessity. The added bonus able to bring your dog is a major plus. Definitely need to stay atleast 2 nights to get the full experience. Great amenities and the opportunity to be up close and feed the farm animals are great for the kids. Noise weren't noticeable coming from the Highway at all as some has mentioned.
