We were stranded in Quito for 3 nights after our flight was canceled and ended up at this hotel. It was great that many staff spoke English, all staff were very friendly and willing to assist. The gym facilities are great with lots of equipment. The outdoor heated pool was lovely and warm so I could do my laps then relax in the hot tub or sauna. It was walkable to Old town Quito, across the street from a lovely park, a block from a big local indigenous market, a block to the free national museum. Concierge arranged a wonderful taxi day trip to El crater, middle of the Earth and the monument on the hill with a great driver at a very reasonable price (I believe they have their own taxis - it looked like their name on cab). Concierge gave great instructions and recommendations for local activities within walking distance. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and huge with wide range of varieties, including an omelet station. I ate 2-3 meals a day there and all the food was delicious and nicely displayed on the plates. I especially liked their variety of fresh juices. They were very organized when 30 of us came to check in last minute at 1 am, they already had the paperwork with keys ready so all they asked was our name and we were all in our room within 10 minutes- impressive! They helped make a stressful situation a wonderful experience- thank you!

A great new hotel in Quito’s financial district, with plenty of great eateries around. The breakfast had something for everyone from cereal to toast, waffles to fruit. Staff were really attentive and always pleasant, polite and helpful. We chose this hotel as it had private underground parking, which was ideal and safe. My only criticism would be having to get the attention of someone to open the barriers to enter and leave. Thanks for a lovely stay, would highly recommend as an affordable stay in the city.

We stayed here in late June after our plans to stay in Old Town were scuttled by Quito general strike and demonstrations. We found the hotel to be closer to a regular Holiday Inn rather than a Holiday Inn Express. The room and bathroom were a comfortable size. Comfortable beds and nice bathroom layoutBreakfast spread was kept hot and fresh and featured egges etc and Ecuadorian items. For the early birds there was a cart with coffee and a few breakfast snacks to tide one over till breakfast area opened. The area has a few local restaurants and a couple of restaurants next door. Many things were closed due to the general strike. But the area is a generally pleasant area with Quito's Carolina Park and Artisinal market with an 20 minutes or so walk. The telefrico a short cab ride away. The gym is on a top floor and one could use the equipment while enjoying the skyline views of quito. A nice way to enjoy a workout. Perhaps the best reason to stay here, however, is the staff. Breakfast area staff went out of their way to be helpful and get our day started on a high note. Front desk staff answered questions about the limited options available to guests due to the situation in Quito with honesty and professionalism and helpful advice. Special recognition for Maria at the front desk and German of the concierge staff for their assistance with friendliness and courtesy and above all understanding of the situation in Quito with the requirements of thir tourist guest. Not necessarily an easy task to balance but they did the job and balanced the various things in a marvelously guest friendly way and not skipping a beat in being helpful and effectively communicating with great command of English. The courtesy of the staff really stood out to me. Everyone was friendly, helpful and pleasant. It was a refreshing place to stay on my return trip to the United States. From when the moment we got off the plane we were greeted at a holiday inn staff member and helped direct us to our shuttle. Getting off a plane in a foreign country is disorienting, and this was super helpful. The room had everything I needed for a comfortable nights stay, and coffee in the room was a nice way to wake up. I highly recommend this holiday inn.

I booked this hotel based on the great reviews . With all the cancellations my airline was having I decided to cancel my hotel reservation and just show up. Big mistake, they were full at 11:00 in the morning. I had been travelling for over 20 hours without sleep and was exhausted. The lovely women at reception tried to find me a hotel nearby which was a no go. I finally found one online and they called and got all my questions answered and were very helpful in translating. I had lunch in the hotel which was tasty and had excellent service. Based on my experience would recommend this hotel and suggest you reserve in advance.

High quality hotel with grand look to interior. Nice facilities; the indoor pool was decent size and warm. Cute little outside pool is joined to it for nice weather. Good size gym. Bar area is smart and comfortable. Enjoyable bar menu. Mega pizza. Restaurant nearby. Breakfast room smart and well laid out. Excellent selection of continental options alongside cooked food made to order at the kitchen. Lots to fill you up on a day out. Room was nice and big. Do miss a carpet in a room like this but it is well styled and has all you need. Bed massive with good solid mattress. Took me a while to workout the black out blind control as there are no traditional curtains. Clean big bathroom with two basins and good size walk in shower. Easy to use safe and quality coffee making facilities. Good location for a few restaurants and spotted a bar too. Supermarket up the road. Some rooms have nice views of the surrounding hills. Finally pleasant staff who are always there to help. Bar staff were great.

The Suites Metropoli may not be as stunning as some of the really fancy hotels one can find in Quito. It's a bit more quaint, much smaller. It is also far better - at least for anyone looking for a really great experience where you don't need to rely on tour groups, can get private (and amazingly knowledgeable and caring drivers - including the owner who is one of the kindest and most caring people you'll meet, so much so that it's hard to think of him as simply 'the owner'; he is someone very open-minded, intelligent, worldly and will take guests to amazing places in his car - a personal touch you'll find no where else. The rooms are quaint - they aren't these massive luxury rooms of some hotels - but they are what you actually want (you just don't know it yet!). It's a very 'authentic' experience - a place where you are made to feel at home, a place where you can learn and experience Quito and Ecuador at your own pace, and in a way that allows you really do things you want, with great guides you'll come to consider friends almost immediately. You won't get stuffed on tour busses and forced to experience things as a 'typical tourist' who isn't really immersing themselves in the country - a real shame for one of the most incredible places on Earth. The hotel is near the top of part of the upper city, close to Pinchincha, and you can see the entire city, Cotopaxi and other volcanoes from your windows - you'll really be on top of the world. If you are only staying a day or two, then this may not be the right place. If you want to actually experience Quito, Cotopaxi, Mindo, the Amazon, Guayaquil, etc. without being wrangled into tourist traps and with just those people you want with you, with incredible guides then this is where you have to stay. You can stay in grand hotels that try and keep you in, and not experience the city if you want - but if you are someone who isn't the 'tourist' that wants to just do the 'big hits' really quickly then you can't do better than Suites Metropoli. The owner, Santiago, also has some Air BNB's - and if you are looking for something a bit bigger, more private without feeling like you're in a hotel in Chicago - if you are visiting Ecuador from Europe, the US, Canada you can find fancy hotels that are designed to be ridiculously over the top anywhere - and if you are going to Ecuador for that experience, you aren't going for the right reasons. This is the diamond in the ruff, an incredible place that you'll love. It has served as a hotel for diplomats and foreign officials over the giant hotels for a reason. And I leave you with an anecdote to show you how great Santiago and his staff are: we wanted to go to a real touristy part of Quito. We asked him to get us a taxi - he refused! Now, why is that good? Because he refused due to a dramatic increase in crime against tourists in that part of Quito - he wasn't willing to help us go somewhere alone where he thought we could be in danger. Now that really is

A nice experience at the hotel, very efficient check-in and check-out, very friendly staff, beautiful, very comfortable rooms, the services offered here are of good quality, the hotel is in a very good location, very good value for money, we had very good interaction with the hotel staff. all its areas impeccable in its entirety, very nice gymnasium, In the restaurant, everything is great, a very varied and delicious menu, very good attention, the waiting time to be served and excellent, very efficient service.
