Just back from 12 days and here is my thoughts on our stay. Like others, after we had booked we started to see some reviews mentioning groups of school kids, poor food etc and were beginning to think we had made the wrong choice. However, as the months went by, we started to see more positive reviews and in the end, we were more than happy with our stay here. Location As others have stated, its on a hill. There are 3 ways you can get to/from P de La C. You can turn right out the hotel and either walk down the road, or down about 100+ steps to get to the shopping centre. Or for a few mins longer walk, but less steep, turn left out the hotel and then go right at the crossing at the top. This takes you down past 2 petrol stations into the middle of the resort, but its less steep, especially when coming back up. Otherwise its just 4 euros for a taxi back up. For a good selection of bars and restaurants, turn left out the hotel and keep left up the hill past the hotels other pool. Cross at the pedestrian crossing and take the next left. There is a large supermarket and umpteen cafes, bars, shops and restaurants if you wish to dine out or have a drink in a different place. There are a few gardens to visit and you get good views over P De La C as well. Hotel itself Was always clean, modern looking and bright, have no issues. We couldn't get a late checkout room, but you can leave your luggage and book the courtesy room for a shower and changing before you head back home if required. Lifts can take a while to come sometimes. Bedrooms Good size, all open so no drawers or wardrobe doors. Safe in the room, 2.70 euro per day but that covers you up to 3000 euros on the insurance. Usual small fridge but kept stuff cold enough. Aircon, I think it could do with an overhaul. It did cool the room, but it was on its lowest setting and it was never cold air coming out. Bathroom, again standard stuff, clean. Room cleaned every day and towels, sheets changed a few times during our stay as well. Bars We were half board so had to purchase our drinks. Large beer was 4 euros, glass of wine 3 euros and a cocktail was 7.5 euros, so competitive with the bars out and around the hotel. Measures of wine varied by whom you got served by though, some days they were larger glasses than others. Staff All staff were great. No issues with anybody, always happy to help. Teobaldi in the restaurant was always helpful, spoke to him a few times and practiced a little Spanish with him. Dining/Food The quality of the food itself was good, always tasty, decent choice and more than enough to have different dinners every night. As the usual, themed nights were here, Canarian, Italian, Indian, Asian etc, so it never got too repetitive. However, my bugbear of lukewarm food on hotel buffets still continues. Apart from the soup, which was always boiling hot, the rest of the food under the ”heat” lamps was more often than not, very cool. Maybe that's the way others have their meals, but Id
