"It was my daughter's birthday this weekend. On Thursday, I saw some snow still covering Cuihua Mountain in Xi'an, so I bought plane tickets from Xiamen to Xi'an on the spur of the moment, hoping to give my daughter a special birthday experience. That's why I chose this guesthouse near Cuihua Mountain, thinking that at around 1000 yuan during the off-season, it would be a decent experience. However, after checking in, I was quite disappointed!
1. The view outside the window didn't match the advertisement: When I called before checking in, the guesthouse staff said there was snow on the back mountain, but when I arrived at the room, there was practically no snow outside the window, and the view was very ordinary. Although the room size was suitable, the decoration and facilities were very basic. There was no underfloor heating, and the room was very cold, making it uncomfortable to stay in during winter.
2. Inconvenient room location: The room was on the second floor, requiring a climb up a spiral staircase after leaving the lobby. This was inconvenient for families with children.
3. Poor breakfast experience: Breakfast was served late, the menu was limited, and the taste was mediocre. There were few local specialties. As a southerner, I wasn't used to this combination, and overall, I felt it was very poor value for money. 4. Lack of Transportation and Scenic Area Services: Getting to Cuihua Mountain requires a shuttle bus, but the guesthouse couldn't provide direct transportation to the scenic area entrance, making travel very inconvenient. Furthermore, the guesthouse staff seemed unfamiliar with the routes to Cuihua Mountain, simply suggesting ”buy tickets online first,” offering no additional services.
5. Slow Service: Overall, the service was acceptable, but after leaving, I discovered I had left a charger at the guesthouse. After contacting them via WeChat, they replied ”we'll look for it,” but more than a day passed with no follow-up. In the end, I had to buy a new one myself, which felt very unreliable."
