Me and my family, booked here for my 40th Birthday and my mums 60th as she couldn’t celebrate it during lockdown. We booked to go in October but unfortunately I caught covid and was very very poorly with it, my mum then caught it and her partner, so unfortunately couldn’t attend. I contacted *********** who we booked with, in advance and the hotel to cancel our booking and asked if we could get a refund, *********** spoke to the manager at the hotel who confirmed we could get a refund to then turn round and say we couldn’t “even though I had evidence” I was so poorly with covid and was the last thing I needed. I sent them proof of my PCR test and explained the situation, as it wasn’t our fault and was absolutely gutted we couldn’t attend. They then said we could change the date and when I went to change the date, it took it completely off my booking for it to then show as a no show. Again I tried ringing the hotel, no answer, I emailed them explaining and asking for the date to be changed and no response. The staff at the hotel were absolutely disgraceful and so rude in their response. I finally contacted them, trying to resolve it in a reasonable manner and asked to speak with the manager who confirmed we could get the refund to start with, for them to just hang up on me, numerous times. I was so upset by this and was the last thing I needed, I have heard nothing since. I have never experienced anything like it “ever” and will certainly never ever book to go there again, they took £298 out of my account and had no remorse what so ever. I would think twice about going here because they are so rude and very unprofessional. What was meant to be a memorable time for my 40th and my mums 60th turned into an absolute nightmare.

On way home from work , thought I would try the Weaste vaults bar and kitchen as some friends had commented it was nice , popped in at 5.15pm and place was quiet , spoke to staff and told to sit down , and they would bring drinks over , ordered a pint San Miguel , came in branded glass as was perfect , lovely and smooth and chilled perfectly Ordered a super burger and again was not disappointed , 2 lovely fresh beef Pattie’s with cheese and a Smokey sauce and mayo and a lovely and fresh seeded bun , was only going into try and ended up ordering a 2nd pint as it was so nice

Good breakfast. Spacious room including a big bath room. Very quiet area, especially evening and night. Only a few restaurants nearby with almost no guests, so returned to take the dinner at hotel lobby restaurant.

Hotel staff are great, friendly, professional - with a smile to greet. Ella was on the desk when I arrived, she was already on a phone call but acknowledged me and also let me know that she could start to book me in as she was waiting for the other company to answer, but if necessary would have to pause if the organisation answered. I was perfectly happy with that as at every point she kept me informed and apologised for keeping me waiting - even so, I was booked in and card key issued within 3-4 minutes of my arrival. I was impressed. Paul at the bar is also good - he makes a great latte and engages in conversation when applicable. The rooms are always clean and quiet. Very happy to recommend.
