When Southwest Airlines cancelled our flight, we drove up to San Francisco and stopped at the Best Western Plus Royal Oak. What a pleasant surprise! The hotel was modern, clean and inviting. Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Despite its convenient location near US 101, it was quiet. The Best Western Plus Royal Oak also serves an above average breakfast and their staff was great. Moral to the story: The next time Southwest cancels your flight to the Bay Area, you should stay at the Best Western Plus Royal Oak in San Luis Obispo.

Nice place okay breakfast. The room had full kitchen and cookware.

I was traveling through here on business and was extremely tired and ended up pulling off into SLO for gas at around 8p and just decided to look for a place to rest up. I noticed the reviews at this location were not bad for the price range. I didn’t want to hunt around and just with a whim booked it. When I showed up the staff was super friendly, parking ample, the room clean as it could be, hot shower, little table and chairs along with a desk, cool view of a little 🏔 mountain (hill) and I was able to open the windows in the bathroom above the shower and in front and create a rather awesome cross breeze. I removed the comforter and top sheet and used my own pillows and blanket. I didnt like what was there. It was so comfortable that i laid down and within an hour I was fast asleep. Slept perfectly through the night. When I checked out, the staff was so friendly (couldn’t get over it..rare these days), left smilin. Great over all experience.

We had a nice stay at this hotel. There was a slight miscommunication because my group decided to extend our stay on the front side (arrive 1 day earlier). Unfortunately, this was not communicated effectively with other staff because the following morning after our first day the housekeeper knocked on the door after 12 noon and was surprised to find people in the room (after check out time). I explained that we have the room booked for another 2 days. Then about 10 minutes later, a front desk staff came knocking on our door. Once again, I explained we have the room booked for two more days. Do I need to go down to the front desk so we can settle this?, I asked. She said, not it's okay. Then I didn't hear back from them again. I figured, ah they communicated what happened. No biggie. Anyway, the room was clean. Shower was good. Bed was comfortable. The pool and jacuzzi were inviting and we would have definitely used them if we had time. The hotel is right off the highway so it was easy to get on and off it. There is a gas station across that is open 24/7 so that was nice. There are also many restaurants nearby, within walking distance if you are willing.

We are a family of 5 who stayed here for a night! It was a good stop over while travelling between SF and LA. The room was clean and no frills. There’s one shared toilet with a dressing area with a small mini bar area. There’s also 20% off for the Denny’s next door too. It’s also near to iHOP, Ralph’s and other restaurants. I would recommend!

1) my first room’s temp control didn’t wor. I had to repack and go to another room. 2)Room card kept erasing and had to go beck to the desk and get it reloaded 3)lamp on the desk didn’t work. 4) black around the tub caulking. 5)first morning only a couple of muffins. Desk said they expect another delivery soon. No juice. Second morning nothing for breakfast. No compensation. 5) very noisy. Walls are thin. Young adults screaming and yelling parting. 1 o’’’ clock in the morning men outside the room talking loudly we’re as I could here every thing being said. Didn’t want to get dressed and go in the hallway to tell them to shut up. No sleep.

This is a great place to stay in a beautiful city...I loved the view from all of our rooms. The employees were very friendly and my room was very clean. I used housekeeping just one day (you need to let the front desk know) and my room was freshened up very well. I will always use this hotel for further stays in SLO. I would like for them to have trays for folks to carry breakfast back to their rooms...it was hard to juggle everything!
