We were having a fantastic vacation along the North of Spain (Oviedo, Gijón, Llanes, Santander, Bilbao) until we got to the Mercure Monte Igueldo. We had a problem with a double booking that we were not aware of. And even it this was not the fault of the hotel in principle, the harsh, unfriendly managing of the situation with different points of views and versions from different managers and receptionists at finding the booking -- some promising to find out it they had received the money and let us know after the holiday period, then changing their decision to finally charge us again without informing us first (”the direction has decided to charge you” they told us on the phone after having left the hotel) gave us such stress that we left with great tension and sadness. Needless to say, they forgot to contact us as promised to confirm whether they had already received the money for the double reservation or not, as needless to say that we would like to forget to have chosen this hotel or do it again in business or privately.

My husband and I spent 3 nights in this lovely boutique hotel in San Sebastian. It is very centrally located - only a short walk from the old town and the beach. The reception staff are so friendly and helpful and gave us some really good restaurant recommendations. The rooms are lovely and very well serviced. The self service breakfast was very extensive and the servers were so friendly. I would really recommend this hotel as a place to stay in San Sebastion and we would certainly stay there again.

Hotel nuevo, bien ambientado y con habitaciones amplias y elementos de calidad. Como sugerencia, el poner unas almohadas más firmes. Si volvemos a Donosti, seguro que repetimos!

I stayed in this hotel from April 12th-16th 2023. The following day of my arrival, April 13th, I left my IWatch Ultra charging up in the room as I left the hotel in the morning. As it was raining, I came over to the hotel by 12:00 but my room still needed housekeeping. So, I stayed at the reception, the went out for lunch and as I came back, I stayed in the room until next morning, not needing to use the IWatch. Thursday morning, I noticed the IWatch was missing but I was in a hurry and only in the evening I had the chance to look all over the room and... the IWatch had disappeared! Immediately I used the IWatch app, and it noticed that the last location detected was in the ARRIZUL Hotel, Wednesday (the day before) and the watch had been disconnected that very same day by 14:11. So, I went down at the reception and complained about this “disappearance” and the reception employee told me she would speak with the cleaning lady and with the board directory. At this time, I told them there would be two options: either the IWatch would “reappear” in my room during Saturday, and I would “forget” the “incident” or, otherwise I would press a complaint in the hotel claiming book, press a charge at the police headquarters and post my experience in social media. As I arrived in late afternoon yesterday, April 15th, I was told at the reception that the cleaning lady didn’t see any watch and the directory of the hotel mentioned that all goods should be kept in the safe of the room, to which I replied…how can I place my IWatch during a charge in the safe? So, I filled up a claim in the claiming book and went to the police station to press charges. In almost 20 years of travelling around the world this was the first time I was robbed. So, even though the hotel has a good relative price quality, my stay at the Arrizul Hotel was a complete disappointing experience. I absolutely DO NOT recommend it based on the missing watch that I had and to the lack of proper response from the directory! AN ABSOLUTELY NO GO IN SAN SEBASTIAN.

This was a fantastic hotel 20 mins outside San Sebastián, There is a good bus service to connect you to the city centre but it is a great place to come back to and relax. The staff are very helpful and friendly, the spa is excellent and there is a well equipped gym. The location right beside the forest is so peaceful and there are a number of walks to take or you can just sit in one of the many seating areas and just look out at the greenery. The food is good and there are many choices. Very comfortable bedrooms. This hotel offers the perfect place to both explore the busy streets of San Sebastián as well as relax in a calm and tranquil atmosphere

The hotel is located about 15-20 min walk to the center of San Sebastian. Staff are kind and extremely helpful. Cleanliness was good. Restaurant was surprisingly very good in the lobby. stayed there for 5nights and 6 days was well worth it. The price was quite expensive for what i paid but it was during the film festival so was well worth it. would certainly stay here on my way back to San Sebastian Wonderful knowledgeable staff who are genuinely helpful

Nice new hotel just outside of the city centre of San Sebastian. Hotel is clean, modern and new, with good facilities. But inside a interior design crime. Rooms are small, and with a very weird layout (diagonal bed set up) causing the room to feel even smaller. The Minibar & wardrobe is in the bathroom, which is weird as well. I appreciate the try of the architect, but to me its not working. Breakfast is very good and very cheap (Eur 12,-) Overall a good stay, and I would recommend it.
