Myself and the family stayed at the Intercontinental late May 2023 and had a lovely time. The resort and grounds are in great condition and well maintained. We had a beach view room on the ground level which was wonderful as it came with a well sized outdoor patio. The beach is amazing, one of the best I have seen at Fiji, there was the option for some waves at one end of the resort while at the other end was much calmer and shallow for a long way which was great for a 5 year old to play around in. The pools were a bit cold but that was great as meant more time in the ocean. The day beds were great and could generally one someone along the beach. Food was not bad and of course the staff were amazingly friendly again.

We live at the moment in Sigatoka and wanted a weekend away from my husbands work. Our two night stay on Likuri was everything we were looking for. The Bure was all we needed, clean and outdoor bathroom ideal. The staff were fantastic, food was more than plentiful and varied for each meal. We have lived in Fiji for over a year and it was a joy to watch more than 100 day trippers come to the island and enjoy a fabulous cultural experience including food, activities and culminating in the amazing night show with all the staff participating in fire and cultural dancing. room was not ready till 4pm upon asking the front desk about it the Director of rooms threatened us that he can deny us check in. The air con in the room did not work. called 5 times for someone to come and after 1.5hrs engineering arrived. They came fixed it and left 30 min later it would stop working ,this continues to happens 2 to 3 times. it is now 10.30pm the air conditioning unit is still not working. DM decides to room move us for the night only to assure us that he will the issue fixed tomorrow or move us entirely to room category we booked. the following day the issue is not fixed it’s 3pm room is not service nor is the new room ready for the move. The new room only became ready at 5.30pm. With us checking out the next morning it is pointless to move. Engineering comes to room at 6.30pm and within and hour the air con is now fixed. No service recovery offered. refused acknowledge that they could have had engineering fix the issue during the day whilst we were away. the DOR welcome to hotel only to threaten us to deny checking in was the most unprofessional experience we have had in years of traveling. not worthy of the name shangri la. worst experience ever. stay at your own risk.
