Hotel was in a really good location in Mellieha - right next to the bus stop if you want to travel, plenty of really good restaurants around like Villager, and a decent enough spot if you like a bit of coastal hiking, as I do. One minor complaint is that the shower gel/shampoo is dreadful, just water with some green gloop - bring your own if you want to feel clean!

Myself and my fiancé visited this resort and it was an excellent hotel, in a lovely part of Malta. The hotel was very clean, with very nice and obliging staff who were extremely helpful. The breakfast offered a great choice of foods including continental style, cooked traditional English breakfast foods, as well as cold meats and cheeses with an array of pastries. The room was lovely, with a comfortable bed and lovely shower and bath facility, as well as a balcony to relax on. The resort has its own private beach area which is only a short walk away, as well as having 2 outdoor swimming pools. The housekeeping staff were extremely efficient, and always left the rooms looking fresh and new. The bar area is very welcoming and relaxing providing a good choice of cocktails at a fair price. I would 100% come back here, and although this is my first visit to Malta, so I do not have anything to compare it to in terms of other hotels in Malta, I would say that it has been a brilliant experience so far staying here and have enjoyed every minute of it

Well, what a great hotel. We arrived on the opening day after a name change from the last hotel name (same owners, different name) We was meant to go to Las Vegas but it didn't happen so we went to Malta. The Hotel was stll being refurbished but a lot of the rooms was open, We was given room 3124 a gorgeous room, with a really nice view. We was shown to our room by Vikky (Viktoria, the Guest Relations Manager) after being checked in by Natalia (i think) We also got a bottle of wine for our long awaited honeymoon as our honeymooon kept being cancelled including the Las Vegas one. As Hilton Diamond members we get breakfast included in our room rate, Breakfast is an expansive affair with far too much to choose from, i went for Salad, i know, crazy right. but topped it off with a nice omelette. The outdoor pool is small but very good, the indoor pool much larger but far too hot for us. Service is great and fast, they was always out taking orders and bringing drinks quickly so you could enjoy more outdoor time. After a few days of being there we asked if we could upgrade to All Inclusive which turned out to be very good, we'd done everything we wanted to do in St Paul's bay so wanted to hang in or near the hotel. All the food is delicious and drinks, although confusing of what was allowed for AI customers, i made the suggestion of having a drinks menu of what drinks ARE allowed as we got a lot of you 'can't have that' A few members of staff made our stay really fantastic and always took the time to say hi and have a great conversation. These include Vikki (GRM) Lorenzo (bar supervisor) Jason in the same bar, always happy, always friendly and Desislav Juniper bar and other staff that we just didn't get their names. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the main Square with a vast amount of shops, bars and restaurants. This used to be the old Dolmen Hotel and they have retained a lot of their staff, it's been nice seeing them adapt to a new system which can be challenging but they will get there in time. At the time of writing this review, there still are building works going on but getting less and less as its all getting finished. Magnifique hôtel . Tout était parfait . La chambre est très propre , la piscine à l'étage est superbe . La spa est très grand . Le personnel est attentionné . Le quartier est animé donc on entend de la musique mais cela ne dérange pas .

Unsurpassed at every turn, Palazzino Birgu is the most unique place I have ever stayed. Its unassuming facade hides a labyrinth of nooks and crannies, stairways leading to the heavens and an open interior which transports you back over half a millennium. Despite arriving in the early hours, great communication ensured my key was passed to the taxi driver, awaiting my airport arrival - ably arranged by the delightful host Chiara. With just 3 rooms, this is not your typical stay but offers as much as you wish to take and absorb. The rooftop terrace offers panoramic views of Valletta and out to the Mediterranean Sea. The breakfast area would befit a Tudor feast and a whiff of nostalgia could easily send you back to when the lower levels were occupied with equine guests. More of the same please.

Perfect location, we were on 5th floor and stayed from saturday to tuesday at last march weekend, if there were any street noises, we didn’t hear anything (our windows were located on main street), balcony was a great bonus to spend evening with pizza and wine. All shops and restaurants are in few minutes. Nice reception 24/7, delicious and various food at breakfast menu. All toiletries were included, towels and hairdryer. Additional warm blankets, but room was warm, used them for sitting outside. Huge free parking lot. Out stay I rate 10/10.

Staying in this hotel is a truly enchanting and reward experience. it brings together all what you would expect from a hotel to deliver to make one’s stay a perfect and memorable experience. The staff in all sectors of service are genuinely friendly helpful and accommodating, they truly go the extra for you without hesitation. In addition to that the building and facilities are very tastefully renovated and kept in excellent shape. It is one of these rare experiences that more than satisfies a frequent traveller creating a lasting magic memory. I will definitely be returning and can only but highly recommend staying in this jewel of a hotel.

We stayed here as part of a tour group for 3 nights and the positives certainly outweighed the negatives. So let's start with the positives. The hotel has a 24 hour reception, which certainly assisted our group, as we didn't arrive until after midnight - and the check-in and help from the staff was excellent. That excellence was maintained for our entire stay. The hotel is well located amongst dozens of restaurants and overlooked the harbour. We were fortunate enough to have a room overlooking the harbour and small beach, with the room being large and roomy, although the bathroom relatively small. We had a table and chairs, air con, hair dryer, fridge and tea and coffee facilities. The hotel's own amenities included a rooftop pool and large terrace area with banana lounges and umbrellas, plus an indoor bar on the rooftop. There was also a restaurant in the hotel (which we didn't use for dinner) and breakfast was good, with real orange juice, proper bread to toast (compared to a number of other hotels we had stayed at) and a wide selection of hot and cold dishes. The negatives were that the hotel is a bit dated and tired and in need of a spruce up, from top to bottom. Plus, unfortunately our shower/bath had a leak, which we did report to reception. Notwithstanding that, we were very happy with our stay and would recommend the hotel to anyone staying in the area.

Reception team is helpful It just to be nice, but rooms are very very dated. Air-conditioning didn't work at all. There is no sauna or fitness like it is advertised and ”jacuzzi” is sea temperature :) Breakfasts is very average and same everyday. Location is amazing, but you need a car.
