With a couple of friends, we stayed at the President Hotel in October for a total of 3 nights, the hotel in itself was a major success, despite being quite low key online. The neighborhood it's located in is very secure and calm, Zamalek overall is a nice part of the city, with many places to visit, and cute hidden gems. The room we stayed in was spacious, clean, and well-maintained; and the room-service was excellent. If there was one thing to be brought up as a downside, it would definitely be the Pyramids tour we had the misfortune of going through with the agency they work with. However, after having reported the horrendous experience we went through to the reception, our complaint was taken seriously immediately and the hotel managed a partial 45% refund of the money paid and apologized continuously for the inconvenience; kudos to Ahmad at the reception.

Ein sehr interessantes Hotel, da kann man sich noch die alten Zeiten vorstellen. Die Einrichtung ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber das gleicht das überaus freundliche und hilfsbereite Personal wieder aus. Relativ günstiges Angebot. Ich würde es wieder besuchen..

The New President hotel was a delight to stay at, tucked away on a leafy street that felt like home out of the chaotic bustle of Cairo. Mr Ahmed and his staff were wonderful and no request was too hard. The intimate bar downstairs was cosy and relaxing and the wood fire pizza , cooked there were delicious We stayed 5 nights , travelled to Aswan and returned for another night before leaving Cairo and it really felt like going home.

Вообще в Каире стоит селиться либо в центре (Даунтауне/острове Замалек), либо уже в Гизе рядом с пирамидами (если вас интересуют только они). Если выбирать центр, то район площади Талат Харб, где расположен Cairo Inn - один из лучших вариантов по соотношению цена-качество. Тут не так дорого, как в ”больших” отельных сетях, но уровень комфорта заметно выше, чем в дешевых отелях-хостелах, которые тут по разным углам в центре разбросаны. Тут достаточно приятная и комфортная (по каирским меркам) городская среда. До основных достопримечательностей центра можно дойти пешком. Отель расположен на 2-3 этаже красивого здания ”в парижском стиле”, которое на площадь выходит. Самые классные номера имеют небольшие балкончики со столиком, где можно завтракать (поднос с завтраком приносят в номер), сидеть вечерами и даже курить кальян (его за дополнительную плату принесут к вам). Но при этом нужно иметь в виду, что окна на площадь - это постоянный шум от машин, а вечное бибиканье каирских водителей поистине легендарно. Дизайн комнат сделан в стиле ”восточный шик”, хотя и не без мелких косяков (плохо закрывалась дверь на балкон, не хватало розеток и т п.), однако это скорее мелочи, в целом всё комфортно. В отеле на стойке работает совершенно прекрасный Джозеф, с которым мы практически подружились. Помогал решать любые вопросы и проблемы, например, поменял нам евро на египетские фунты по очень хорошему курсу, когда окрестные банкоматы нам с этим не помогли. В целом мы очень довольны, потом ещё раз останавливались именно в этом отеле (для знакомства с городом - идеальное место).

Located at the famous Champollion street, this hotel is 2 blocks away from the Cairo museum. We used the hotel sort of as transition during our trip. We paid one night so we can store our luggage and take a shower before heading to the airport for our trip to Luxor. The hotel doesn't start the first floor. It starts at the 6 floor. We got a little confused going up on the elevators. Got lost because we took the second elevator in the property which requires a key card to go up because there are actually apartments on the lower floors. After that it was straight forward. Rooms booked thorough *********** were reserved and paid; waiting for us. The rooms are very nice and clean; good size too. Bathrooms are also very clean although the shower is kind of small. The small shower seems to be a thing in Egypt. We walk from the hotel to the Cairo museum. Is only 5 minutes away. Staff was very helpful and nice. They help us call a taxi for the airport when we left that night.

Наше окно было в противоположную от улицы сторону, так что было достаточно тихо (хотя то место, куда выглядывали окна, двором назвать трудно). Приветливый персонал (хотя, как будто, немного сонный). Завтраки обычные (яичница, хлеб, масло, чай, кофе). Мебель старая, стены облезлые. состояние сантехники ужасное. Лифт не работает и своим видом вызывает легкий шок. За три дня в номере ни разу не убирались. Главное достоинство отеля - приветливые хозяева и балкончик из столовой, выходящий на улицу, с которого можно вечером наблюдать за шумной ночной жизнью египетской столицы.

Position side of this hotel is, it is situated on nice location -Tahrir Square. Building is very old and no one will like the entrance at the ground floor as area is not clean - dust, garbage. Elevator is very old. No lift man or any one to help to go up for the first time. So, I needed to climb up to 7th floor with stair case. They provided a big room. But, furniture of the room need maintenance. No complimentary drinking water. I booked the room with breakfast. but, they can only serve breakfast after 9 AM as they buy from local shops. We would not stay on this hotel in future.

Service of the hotel is absolutely excellent. But when the second time I stayed in this hotel, every furniture in my room just shaking....
