Wonderful place to stay. I don’t normally stay in hostels but this was perfect – the beds are comfortable, and the rooms are quiet despite in Cairo downtown, everything is a walking distance and local transportation. The owner and all employees were friendly, honest, and polite, especially Muthan at the front desk was exceptional. the hotel is not bad looking from the outside, but the inside is much different, also, you need to try the roof cafe with Cario around you. I had a great time meeting everyone and socializing, i really recommend this hotel.

Castle Hotel is the best place to discover Cairo! It felt like home to me. I was in 8 different hotels in Cairo on my tour: castle hotel is my family and my choice no1 now. I know where to go to on future trips. Castle Hotel :) The hotel is located in the 16th floor, so you have the best view you can find. You can see so far. You can the city, the Nile, a little bit of a pyramid. Best traffic connection because ramses street. Shops 1 minute walk. Abu tarek koshari 5 minute walk, river Nile 5 minute walk. The staff is amazing. Friendly, always willing to help, welcoming, discrete. It’s a very nice vibe up there. The sounds of the city far away. Very relaxing. Next time I book an extra night just to enjoy the view. It’s just vibrant there and you feel the energy of the city. Can’t wait to come back! Thank you for everything! See you!

Our booking information we were sent said that the Tourist Palace Hotel was on the first floor. When we arrived at an unattractive building we managed to see a sign in the building with an arrow on the first floor that took you to a building renovation. It was only later that we discovered the hotel was on the 5th floor of the building that had a less than appealing entrance. We paid for an early check in but were not told at the time that the water was not working - that meant no shower, flushing of the toilet or washing our hands. The following day the electricity was out. The room was clean and comfortable but due to what was mentioned above we relocated to another hotel and our friends that were to join us the following night cancelled their booking. The hotel should be clearer online and onsite with the location of the hotel.

Me and my girlfriend are travelling to Egypt and after being told by our originally booked hotel that out room was not available anymore (upon landing in Cairo) we have been given the lastminute choice to stay at Cecilia hotel by Booking.com. Luckily the destiny has done things right!! Attentive and very friendly people run this little hotel in Cairo downtown, close to centre, museums, shops, restaurants, cafe in a very safe area to go around in couple or solo. Free Wi-Fi, air conditioning and breakfast with a beautiful terrace where to spend the evening drinking something and meeting new people. Room was clean and good for 2 star hotel. Absolutely recommended and will come back!

Great location across the road from the Egyptian Museum and close to restaurants, the metro and shops. The staff were all friendly and helpful, in particular the manager Mostafa Kamal who assisted us with our travel arrangements, including internal Egypt flights and a Nile cruise, and followed up to make sure things were going well. Breakfast was good and plentiful (and it's possible to have it in your room if the small breakfast area is full). The hotel and our room were clean and comfortable and the price was good for the central location. As others have noted, there was some traffic noise audible from the room (but we found this to be normal throughout Egypt). Overall, we were very happy with the service and the price and would definitely stay again.

Sangat Baik

People working in this hostel is so kind to guests and always helping. Khalid is such polite, kind and smiley faces, guys with fluffy hairs also kind, helpful and nice. And girl from South Africa is such a beautiful as face and character like Egpytian God. Ladies cleaning the rooms they so kind. They are very nice. Since i had limited time in Cairo and visited the city all day, i couldn't spend more time as expected, i really could wish to spend more time with them. High recommmended.

PPengguna TetamuExcepcional estadía en Freedom Hostel. Totalmente recomendado. La limpieza del alojamiento y la atención de su dueño destacan por sobretodo. La ubicación es perfecta para moverse en El Cairo, puedes llegar al Museo Egipcio a pie y si prefieres Uber puedes obtener muy buenas tarifas a cualquier parte de la ciudad, incluso hacia al aeropuerto. Los mejores falafel del viaje los probamos en el desayuno!! Al entrar al edificio puedes asustarte un poco, pero no te preocupes que al llegar al piso del hostel, todo está muy limpio y en buen estado. Los baños son amplios y ventilados, buena presión de agua y siempre muy limpios. Finalmente, quisiera compartir mi experiencia contratando tour con Eslam, dueño del alojamiento. Planear este viaje por cuenta propia fue bastante complicado, ya que cotizar a distancia en agencia o por civitatis, no me daba garantías del servicio que esperaba recibir, y generalmente me enviaban cotizaciones absurdamente caras y ni siquiera estaban bien evaluados. Eslam desde el primer momento me ofreció el mejor valor dentro de lo que coticé, y decidí armar mi viaje junto a él, ya que conocerlo en el Hostel me daba la seguridad que necesitaba. Contraté las siguientes actividades: Crucero 3 noches, tour en templos de Aswan y Luxor, globo aerostatico en Luxor, Tour Dendera y abydos. Definitivamente fue la mejor decisión que pudimos tomar! Eslam nos armó un itinerario perfecto y a medida de nuestras necesidades. Estamos profundamente agradecidos de sus servicios. Fuimos muy afortunados de poder contar con él en todo momento y poder recibir un servicio de calidad y justo en relación a lo que pagamos. En cuanto al crucero, la estadia fue maravillosa, sus instalaciones y servicios superaron nuestras expectativas. En cuanto a los tours, un excelente servicio. El hecho de poder contar con Eslam y plantear nuestra observaciones nos daba garantías de un buen servicio. Un ejemplo de lo anterior. Durante el primer tour en Aswan la guía no nos llevó a la represa a pesar de estar esa actividad contemplada (dijo que estaba cerrada), por lo que se lo señalamos a Eslam e inmediatamente arregló con la agencia para que nos dieran una visita adicional a otra actividad en Luxor, en compensación visitamos Templo de Habu (el mejor templo de todos a nuestro juicio) dejándonos totalmente satisfechos su gestión y seguros que ante cualquier eventualidad podiamos contar con él. Durante nuestro viaje conocimos a muchas personas que la pasaron muy mal por haber contratado con agencias que daban pésimo servicio o los dejaban abandonados (de tripadvisor, guetyourguide, etc) y también a personas que pagaron incluso más que nosotros por el Crucero y éste estaba en mal estado... por todo ello, valoramos y agradecemos enormemente la honestidad, el profesionalismo y el compromiso de Eslam para con sus huéspedes, definitivamente lo recomiendo a ojos cerrados y para nuestra próxima visita sin dudarlo lo volveremos a contactar. PPengguna TetamuZentral, nahe Tahrir Square im fünften Stock, direkt an der Hauptstraße. Schlafraum war eine Etage höher. 2 kleine Bäder. Zimmer mit 6 Betten etwas eng und dunkel, aber mit A/C. Sehr zuvorkommende, hilfsbereite Crew. Alles recht sauber. Küche ist aber nur bedingt zum selbst Kochen geeignet. Kleiner, gemütlicher Aufenthaltsraum mit Fernseher. Mini-Balkon mit Blick auf die Hauptstraße, am Rande eines lebhaften Viertel mit vielen Imbissen und Läden. Dennoch nach hinten raus ruhig. Frühstück von 8:30 - 11 Uhr. Direkt vor der Tür ist ein Liqour-Store :) Uriger, klappriger Aufzug im Haus. Metrostation ist auch nicht weit.

This is a good basic budget friendly hotel in the middle of the bustling streets of Cairo BUT as it is located on the top floor it is quiet which is great. Lovely roof terrace and super warm welcoming staff! It is 2 star so dont expect extras such as tea making facilities in the room but you are only sleeping there so who cares. We were a couple but there were actually 2 beds which was heaven and they were very comfortable. Great sleeps! Thankyou Osiris Hotel.

PPengguna TetamuОстанавливались в отеле всего на одну ночь, перед вылетом в Москву. Отель выбирала по принципу близости к Тахриру и остановке GoBus, т. к. мы вечером приезжали и Хургады. От остановки автобуса до отеля дошли пешком минут за 5 с чемоданами и ребенком 5 лет. На ресепшен нас уже ждали и сразу же зарегистрировали и проводили в номер. Номер дали 4-х местный вместо 3-х местного(который я бронировала) угловой с потрясающим(не забываем, что это 2 звезды ) видом на город и на реку. Номер соответствует фото с сайта, довольно просторный и чистый. Что удивило, не было полотенец и туалетной бумаги (вообще) муж сходил на ресепшен, полотенце одно дали, а бумаги у них нет. Окна открываются, есть кондиционер и холодильник, слышен шум от Тахрира, но я этого ожидала, это передает колорит Каира. Утром был включен завтрак :булки+плавленные сырки+джем + по 2 яица на человека и кофе/чай на выбор. За завтраком нас спросили, чем мы планируем заниматься днем, мы сказали, что планируем просто погулять и оставить чемоданы до 10 вечера, чтобы потом поехать в аэропорт. И нам предложили бесплатно продлить номер до вечера! Мы даже растерялись, задумались и переспросили, точно ли это бесплатно. В итоге это оказалось очень удобно, мы в районе 7 вечера вернулись в отель приняли душ и чуть-чуть успели поспать перед выездом. Приятно поразило доброе отношение сотрудников отеля, до этого жили в отелях 4-5 звезд в Хургаде и там не чувствуешь себя таким желанным гостем как здесь. Если еще раз окажемся в Каире-точно приедем сюда.

PPengguna Tanpa NamaIn general, it is not bad for me to stay in a single room with a common bathroom for 10 nights. Above all, I would like to express my gratitude to the staff's efforts to manage the City Hostel clean which is too old and out fashioned building. * Location & Transportation Without noise, it is the best location to stay. It is located at 2 2-minute walk distance from Attaba subway station that connects to the Ramsis Railway Station and the Egypt Museum, only 1~3 stops away, charging 6 EGP per way. Of course, you can go to both by walk in 20 minutes. It means you can also enjoy the Nile riverside which is close to the museum. And it is a 2-minute walk distance from the Attaba market which is the biggest public market in Cairo and so many locals visit to buy their livelihoods stuff at a cheap price. In addition, you can also walk to the Al Azhar Mosque and Khan El-Khalili traditional market in 30 minutes, and St. Marc Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in AL Azbakeya in 10 minutes Two problems I experienced are firstly the noi⁹sy from 8 am to 3 am outside the building due to market area and cars' horns. It took 3 days for me to adapt it. Any room in the hostel cannot escape it without changing the windows to soundproof ones. If you are sensitive to sound, it is better to find other lodges in a residential area or modernized ones. Secondly, its location on the Uber taxi map and other maps is not accurate, so drivers have some problems in finding the city hostel. I have to meet them in front of the KFC next to the Attaba subway station. The signboard of the hotel is too small to recognize it. * Building and room conditions Like many other buildings in Cairo, the hostel building is old and shabby. The interior design and facilities are also outdated. However, the staff manages it so clean, particularly a common toilet and shower room. It is quite convenient a washstand in each room. However, it is bad there is no electronic kettle to boil water in a room or a common space. I could not enjoy my tea or coffee time at any time. I have to ask for hot drink water every morning when receiving breakfast, and store it in my tumbler. It will be better to provide a tea or coffee service area in the hostel. * Cleanness & Safety Cleanness and safety are very good. I have no issue with this. * Services There is no basic service that most guesthouses provide in general: toilet paper and drink water. Wifi is too weak to use the internet. Other services like laundry are satisfied. * Others During my stay, I couldn't enjoy having an exchange time with other travelers. I think it is because there is no reason to stay in a common space where only sofas and a table are. Largely guesthouse provides a commonplace where guests enjoy better the internet or drinks including tea or coffee and foods, which makes guests meet each other naturally and structurally. In conclusion, if the hostel provides basic services like toilet paper and commonplace with drink water and electronic kettles, it will be much better. And it is necessary to change its signboard so that is more recognizable. Except issues I mentioned above, it is a very good budget lodge.

PPengguna TetamuThis hostel has a good location and I would say that it is pretty walkable in the early morning and very late at night but the walking infrastructure is not the best in Cairo. Mid day the traffic makes it very tricky to walk around even though there are many good restaurants and attractions nearby. Finding it is a little tricky but it is down an alley that doesn't allow cards and it is located on floor 2 of an older building. There is an elevator but all doors and gates need to be closed in order for it to work and we found guests at the hostel weren't good at closing after themselves. The staff are very kind and welcoming but we got a bit hung up on the payment. We booked on Trip with the ”Pay at the Hotel” option for 3100 Egyptian pounds for three nights in a private room but they were asking for 3600 when we were checking in. After a little back and forth they let us check in and gave us the keys so we could rest and wait for the manager's answer. The manager said no to our booked rate, we were told we booked on Expedia and we now had to pay 3900 Egyptian pounds. I'm at a loss of words for this discrepancy between Trip and the hostel but there weren't better deals in the area we wanted to stay and we very reluctantly paid. The room was just a place to sleep with a box to the side where our shower and toilet were. The box had no ceiling or ventilation so there were smells throughout the room from the drains. The beds were comfy but were not completely clean when we arrived - there was hairs in the bed sheets. The room cleanliness overall could have been better. The area is quiet at night and we got a good night's rest to spend our days exploring Cairo. The breakfast was ok but there wasn't much room to eat in the common areas during our stay so we asked for breakfast in our room during our stay. We had a simple breakfast with a fried egg, cucumbers, tomatoes, cheese, banana, tea/coffee and Arabic bread. It is enough to get you through until lunch and is served starting at 8 pm. There is a convenience store close by that offers fairly priced snacks and drinks which you might want to seek out because they do not provide water at this hostel. We hope this property improves because it seems like it used to be really good and the location is good as well.

PPengguna TetamuThe service was good and staff were friendly. They were able to answer any questions I asked. The main issue I had was the noise and checked out a night early. I wanted to sleep in the afternoon due to coming from a different time zone but it was too noisy with traffic in the area. I asked to move to a quieter room but they didn’t have.

Thank you palace court, you have been so helpful to us during our stay. My boyfriend has a job interview while we were away and they opened up a room for him to do the interview in even though we had already checked out. Also when we returned to Cairo after a week in Hurghada, they allowed us to leave our bags with them for the final day even without a booking. Very clean, right in the heart of downtown Cairo and the staff have been so great to us, thank you so much xx
