Hotel berhampiran Yiu Ming Temple, Sydney

LOCATION IS TERRIFIC!! Just next by central station. I had a large room, and bed is just fit for me - soft but not too much. But the cleaning is one thing needs to be improved. Not because it quite aged, I got one milk in flthe fridge. Surprised. And the floor needs be vacuumed. Overall, still coming back next time.

Clean hostel with friendly staff. Rooms were spacious with large lockers for each occupant and personal plugs and bed side lights in a great position. Showers/toilets on each floor and I never had to wait to use them. Downside is that you can hear the music from their basement club even on the 6th floor until late into the night. Didn’t bother me as I was only there a few nights and I managed to get enough sleep. Kitchen is WAY too small for amount of guests in the hostel. The social events put on by the hostel were a good way to meet people as a solo female traveller.

I traveled solo, so I chose the hostel for staying in Sydney for 4 days. The location is great!!! 20 mins away by a train from the airport, a lot of train stops and bus stops around. Breakfast is not great, yogurt, cereal, croissants, muffins, toasts, some can fruits, tea, coffee (12$). In this hostel something happened that never happened to me before. I left some of my clothes on the bed, keep housing changed my bedsheets and took my clothes away. Even though I still had 2 nights left. The best decision (that’s what they said) is they gave my a voucher for breakfast lmao!!!! I kept coming and asking if they found my clothes but they didn’t and the last day when I already was leaving they said okay, we can call the police if I want to solve this problem. That’s ridiculous! For 2 days they didn’t do anything, every time when I came to the front desk there were different workers and it was quite hard to find a manager! So if you decide to stay here, keep all your stuff in the locker. The padlock is 6$. There are washing machines and dryers, I didn’t use but as far as I remember around 8$. The cockroach was on the kitchen level, huge as my thumb.

Amazing stay! We stayed over the new year and it was in ideal walking distance to opera house and bridge, around half an hour! Lovely staff and room was made up with fresh towels everyday, the toilet was next level...it had a remote control and different settings! Overall great stay and would recommend, we even got a complimentary box of chocolates from them to celebrate the new year which I thought was a lovely touch and much appreciated

I stayed at the hotel for 2.5 weeks during one of the busiest times in Sydney. The rooms were cleaned daily. The staff exceptional. The manager on duty incredible. I had a few hiccups as any traveller would at any hotel but once mentioned by me to the staff they without hesitation went beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. It isn’t the most glamorous or biggest or even the most sophisticated place but it was perfect for a solo guy like me travelling in Australia for Mardi Gras and site seeing. Other friends of mine ran into numerous problems beyond my challenges at other big chain hotels but this little place kept me going and made me very happy. I’d return anytime. It’s location is perfect for site seeing and a overnight sleep or daytime nap. Thanks to all the staff there that were amazing. See ya again soon I hope!

The location is unbeatable. It’s in the middle of CBD and only 10 min walk to circular Quay. We did not stay in the heritage room, instead, we chose the tower room. TBH, we expected nicer interior design. The furniture gave us an IKEA feel. Fullerton in both Singapore and HK is very nicely done. When we turned on the hot water for either shower or bath, it makes a screeching noise sometimes, which was not pleasant to hear. Anyway, the room is clean and the cleaning ladies were very nice and friendly. The breakfast was good too. Overall, the staff were really good!

Hands down worst nights sleep Ive ever had away from home. I arrived late from an interstate flight. The code I was given to get into the front door didn’t work. I tried half a dozen times. It was night, I was a solo small female and tbh I was starting to feel a little scared. Fortunately someone walked out of the building and let me in. The code to key collection worked and I went upstairs to my room. Now if u have heavy luggage this is not the place for you. Think European hotels with no lifts! Same same! The room itself was nice. Bathroom and toilet are not part of your room. It’s a seperate room. For everyone! Shared. That’s fine unless you get a case of bali belly! I guess this is all due to the age of the building. Renovated and lovely mind you. Problem I had is the bathroom was the door next to my bedroom and with a two inch gap under my door my room was excessively noisy with the opening and banging of all doors and especially the bathroom. That door was on constant rotation. Then I could hear the shower going. All up I think I got no more than 2-3 hours sleep. Only choice is bring ear buds or the hotel should provide them complimentary! Worst night sleep I’ve had in any hotel across the globe. Room was very clean, as were the amenities, staff seemed lovely. In daylight area felt fine. I suspect rather alternative and trendy bring a non Sydneysider myself. At the price and cleanliness I’d recommend but bring good quality ear buds!

I had high expectations of Capella Sydney after staying multiple times at Capella Bangkok and being treated as though I were the most important person in the hotel, just like all of the other guest who stay there are. The attention to service detail at Sydney location unfortunately failed very short to meet my expectations. The booking process on the website was glitchy and the pricing was inconsistent, sometimes showing pricing including tax sometimes not without indication and only upon receiving confirmation via email from reservations was the price confirmed, which did not match the screenshots of the reservation when I placed the booking so I had to go back and forth with reservations via phone and email to simply confirm the accurate pricing for my stay. After creating an account to log on to their booking platform although the option of modifying the booking was offered, the feature did not work on the site, so you had to cancel the booking and book a new booking if you simply wanted to extend by 1 day. This is before I even arrived at the hotel. When I did arrive, it is of course, no small feat that the restoration of this historic building was carried out with the utmost respect for the architecture, from the flooring material to the fenestration and even the internal grand stair way was brilliantly retro-fitted with current code requirements for the handrail in a historically appropriate yet contemporary solution. The hotel does not have many floors, so I encourage anyone to take the stairs to experience the beauty of the restoration work. The recognition of the strong identity of the urban location and sense of place in Sydney’s CBD offers us a promise, an encounter, as the space of the possible. I wish I could say the same about the interior design. There was a real disconnect between the intent of the architecture and that of the interior design. The decoration at best seemed vague, and so for the guest experience, how could one of have a point of view about the effect of the design? The space of the expectant “possible” relationship I was expecting from the simple activity of stepping into Farrer Place’s south entryway marked Department of Agriculture, as local stories interpreting colonial history with ancestral elements of the Eora people by Waayni artist Judy Watso unfolded, or the sense of expansive freedom through the bronze Palazzo doors on Loftus Street into the latent quiet luxury of the grand stair was lost when I was met with the contrasting designs and colours of the lift lobby vestibule axminster carpet and that of the corridor carpet to the guest rooms, able to be seen in the same frame. Although an argument can be made about eclecticism and the use of curating a collection of exceptional vintage and contemporary objects this was not the case here, it read as a mismatched bric-à-brac (to borrow a Victorian word from the building time period that's true meaning in French means ”any old way” or ”at random”). The location's great. We had a harbour view room with nice view of the harbour bridge. We were also happy with the service at the check-in and check-out. Unfortunately we were disappointed with how clean the room was. The cleaner obviously forgot to clean the toilet. It had stains on the toilet seat and in the toilet bowl. We also found an empty Mt. Franklins water bottle lying under the desk. We have stayed at the hotel a few times before. This is the first time that we were disappointed with the cleanness of the room.

Nightcap at Chester Hill Hotel demonstrates excellent reviews from numerous hotel guests. Upon our visit to the pub and entertainment floor at the ground level, the room's interior design was relatively unique and posh. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful, and well-trained, and they informed us accordingly about the covid restrictions. We want to give special thanks for an excellent demonstration of Ms. Yasmine's Hospitality. Thank you to Ms. Yasmin, who has been helpful and guided us with direction and amenities and gave us a warm welcome, and guaranteed our expectations and concern had been met.
