RedRoof had always been our go-to hotel for consistency. They are usually well-maintained and clean. I don't know WHAT is going on with this place though... First off, the evening staff at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. That was about the only good part. Once we made it around to our parking area, we parked next to a 30-year-old abandoned truck stuffed with garbage. Even the driver's seat was full, so it's obvious it's not being driven. As we made our way toward the building, it was concerning that the outside door to the corridor has a swipe-lock, but it was not operational, and the door stayed unlocked. Nice security. Once inside, the smell of vape, cigarettes and **** permeated the hallways. I was passed by a man carrying a large clothes hamper on his way to the laundry. I assume he lives there. Once we got to our room, I could see down the hall that garbage cans and bags of trash were stacked in the hallway (I assume from more people who live there). I also noticed TONS of dog hair along the hallway carpet. I wasn't even looking for it. It just was that dirty that it caught my eye. I could hear kids screaming and dogs barking already, the walls were that thin. Once inside the room, we noticed how poorly maintained it was. The lampshade was broken, the tiles had months of dirt buildup along the edges, the toilet seat had cigarette burns, and the commode itself was so loose I thought it would fall over. The bathtub had hair and bits of debris in it. I turned on the faucet (which, along with the spout, moved in and out of the wall about an inch when touched), but the tub just filled up and swirled the debris around, taking several minutes to drain, leaving even more debris behind. So we couldn't use the tub. I'm not going to stand in ankle-deep dirty water with somebody else's hair. The mattress was completely flat in the middle. It was like sleeping in a hammock. My wife and I had to stick pillows under our sides like wheel-chocks to keep from rolling into the middle. The walls and floors are extremely thin. We could hear EVERYTHING going on beside us and above us. We could even hear the upstairs dog walking around as if it was in our room! Plus people slamming doors all night, screaming in the hallways, making every dog in the building bark in unison... Like I said- RedRoof is usually a solid choice. But NOT THIS ONE. It is VERY poorly cleaned and maintained. We were only there for one night, and I bet most people wouldn't have even made it that long.

Room was decent for a 1-night stay. I do not normally post reviews but this one was necessary. At 2am my toilet decided not to flush. I tried calling the front desk multiple times with no answer, no call back, nothing. Up until 7am when I decided we’d just wake the kids and leave early. When I went to the front desk to check out I told the lady that our toilet hadn’t been working and nobody would answer the phone when I called. She could have not cared any less. Only muttered “oh sorry” without even making eye contact.

The hotel was nice for a short stay with my family. Pros: there was one lady in particular that worked at the front desk on Friday evening and Saturday that was very friendly from the moment we checked in. Honestly her positive attitude contributed to our lack of complaints during our stay. The free daily breakfast was decent. There’s a nice variety and you can’t beat free (well it might’ve been included in the cost because I’m not sure what we really paid for) and one less meal to plan for my family. The hotel itself has nice character and is beautiful to the eye initially. The room that we were in was very spacious which was a plus! We didn’t have a chance to use the pool but from what I could see it looked nice. Cons - I believe this is becoming an issue with most hotels possibly due to staffing shortages but the cleanliness of the hotel and the room especially, lacked. Having an infant with us brought this to light. He kept bringing us things that we know for sure we didn’t bring into the room, like butter packets, toothpick/floss sticks and an abundance of hair that didn’t belong to us. And the carpet could certainly use a deep clean. The bathroom toiletries were very basic. The fridge left our food warm, I did notify the person at the front desk when we checked out but she didn’t seem to concerned. We couldn’t get lake check out (but I know that’s never guaranteed, it’s just the first time it’s happened to us lol) Overall it was a decent stay. I think we paid more for Location and hotel brand but we survived.

I feel that it’s a really good hotel beds are comfortable has stove and refrigerator it was very cleaned when I walked in only problem with the room always stayed cold the heat was not working at all try to switch me to another room an it just wasn’t what I expected like the room I was actually in was a bit of a mess so I just stayed in the other room just being cold and the thermostat doesn’t work either so hopefully they can get it fixed an do a better job with fixing things but after all good hotel you can wash your clothes but cost to dry them.

I was fearful that this hotel would be a bust. IT WAS NOT. Other reviews of this property painted it poorly with derogatory comments about linens, bedsheets, staff, food and more. I'm not sure what they were seeing, but it didn't exist for our stay. The room was nice... big actually. A/C worked well, Beds were clean and comfortable. Bathroom was good, with the necessary accommodations and the water pressure was even impressive. The was basin separate from the toilet and tub was a nice add on. The indoor pool was nice, not over-chlorinated and clean. The fitness room was pretty well set up and the machines all worked well. The common areas were clean and the staff was very friendly. The breakfast bar was more than adequate with a well rounded choice of proteins, grains, juices and even a fast waffle machine. The eggs and sausages were tasty.... not like home, but still pretty good. Coffee was good and they even had the expensive Nestle Creamer available. The area was safe, the outside clean, the highway noise was not an issue. I am not sure what is with the people that left these other reviews, but this hotel is getting a bad rap. Additionally, it's being updated next year to become a Staybridge Suite so I can only see a bright future for this facility. To the other reviewers that were so bad, I'd say the problem wasn't with this hotel. Peter

I feel that it’s a really good hotel beds are comfortable has stove and refrigerator it was very cleaned when I walked in only problem with the room always stayed cold the heat was not working at all try to switch me to another room an it just wasn’t what I expected like the room I was actually in was a bit of a mess so I just stayed in the other room just being cold and the thermostat doesn’t work either so hopefully they can get it fixed an do a better job with fixing things but after all good hotel you can wash your clothes but cost to dry them.

I was fearful that this hotel would be a bust. IT WAS NOT. Other reviews of this property painted it poorly with derogatory comments about linens, bedsheets, staff, food and more. I'm not sure what they were seeing, but it didn't exist for our stay. The room was nice... big actually. A/C worked well, Beds were clean and comfortable. Bathroom was good, with the necessary accommodations and the water pressure was even impressive. The was basin separate from the toilet and tub was a nice add on. The indoor pool was nice, not over-chlorinated and clean. The fitness room was pretty well set up and the machines all worked well. The common areas were clean and the staff was very friendly. The breakfast bar was more than adequate with a well rounded choice of proteins, grains, juices and even a fast waffle machine. The eggs and sausages were tasty.... not like home, but still pretty good. Coffee was good and they even had the expensive Nestle Creamer available. The area was safe, the outside clean, the highway noise was not an issue. I am not sure what is with the people that left these other reviews, but this hotel is getting a bad rap. Additionally, it's being updated next year to become a Staybridge Suite so I can only see a bright future for this facility. To the other reviewers that were so bad, I'd say the problem wasn't with this hotel. Peter

RedRoof had always been our go-to hotel for consistency. They are usually well-maintained and clean. I don't know WHAT is going on with this place though... First off, the evening staff at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. That was about the only good part. Once we made it around to our parking area, we parked next to a 30-year-old abandoned truck stuffed with garbage. Even the driver's seat was full, so it's obvious it's not being driven. As we made our way toward the building, it was concerning that the outside door to the corridor has a swipe-lock, but it was not operational, and the door stayed unlocked. Nice security. Once inside, the smell of vape, cigarettes and **** permeated the hallways. I was passed by a man carrying a large clothes hamper on his way to the laundry. I assume he lives there. Once we got to our room, I could see down the hall that garbage cans and bags of trash were stacked in the hallway (I assume from more people who live there). I also noticed TONS of dog hair along the hallway carpet. I wasn't even looking for it. It just was that dirty that it caught my eye. I could hear kids screaming and dogs barking already, the walls were that thin. Once inside the room, we noticed how poorly maintained it was. The lampshade was broken, the tiles had months of dirt buildup along the edges, the toilet seat had cigarette burns, and the commode itself was so loose I thought it would fall over. The bathtub had hair and bits of debris in it. I turned on the faucet (which, along with the spout, moved in and out of the wall about an inch when touched), but the tub just filled up and swirled the debris around, taking several minutes to drain, leaving even more debris behind. So we couldn't use the tub. I'm not going to stand in ankle-deep dirty water with somebody else's hair. The mattress was completely flat in the middle. It was like sleeping in a hammock. My wife and I had to stick pillows under our sides like wheel-chocks to keep from rolling into the middle. The walls and floors are extremely thin. We could hear EVERYTHING going on beside us and above us. We could even hear the upstairs dog walking around as if it was in our room! Plus people slamming doors all night, screaming in the hallways, making every dog in the building bark in unison... Like I said- RedRoof is usually a solid choice. But NOT THIS ONE. It is VERY poorly cleaned and maintained. We were only there for one night, and I bet most people wouldn't have even made it that long.
