The hotel is nice. It offers a welcome drink for guests and there us a seating area at the lobby where guests can chitchat there . The breakfast area is a little bit small and sometimes guests need to wait for awhile for getting seats. It is quite close to the Frespo Takayama outlet where there are Uniqlo, a sports store, V Drug pharmacy and Aoki shop. When we returned to the hotel at night, the street was quiet and there were not many street lights.

We had an exceptional experience at this hotel, where the culinary delights took center stage. One of the highlights was the private onsens available from our room, providing a serene and relaxing escape. It added an extra layer of luxury to our stay, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. A thoughtful touch we appreciated was finding our shoes neatly arranged each morning as we left the hotel for the day. It showcased the meticulous attention to detail that characterized our entire stay. Overall is good. Breakfast included Hida beef menu. Free a bottle of green tea if you don't need cleaning service. Parking fee at the hotel 1500 yen per day. There is public parking near hotel which is just 300 yen from 6pm to 8 am. Room size is small as Japanese standard.

福地温泉は奥飛騨温泉郷の中でもいかにも山中に来たというちょうどいい寂れ感があって、この元湯孫九郎も温泉が充実しつつも秘湯っぽい雰囲気がいいと思います。 価格帯的にもサービス的にも、旅館としては中級なので、高級旅館のようなおもてなし感を期待してると少し残念かもしれませんが、温泉メインでちょっと奥地らしい旅館を求めてる層にはしっくりくるんじゃないでしょうか。 正面玄関の雰囲気と比べると、部屋は改装してそれほど経っていないのできれいで、設備等も申し分ありません。デイベッドのある部屋に泊まったので、湯上りにそこでだらだら本を読んだりして、とてもリラックスできました。 あちこちに置いてある小物類もかわいくて良いアクセントでした。 温泉は混み具合にもよるのかもしれませんが、旅館の規模に対して内湯・露天風呂・貸切風呂と十分にあり、泉質も変えてあるので何度も楽しめます。バスタオルが人数より多めに用意されてるのも、温泉をエンジョイしてほしいという配慮が感じられました。 料理はそれほど凝ったものではありませんが旅館の雰囲気とも合ったこの地域らしい内容で、飛騨牛もおいしく、量も十分ありました。 それ以外にも、庭や高級音響設備の部屋など、ちょっとひまだなと思ったらウロウロするところもあって、2泊3泊といても、のんびりする目的なら飽きずに過ごせると思います。時期は限られるでしょうが、7月上旬の庭にはホタルも飛び交っていて、テラスからは星空もきれいで、手持ち無沙汰になりがちな夜も楽しめました。 接客の人によるムラも、この規模の旅館なら味と思える範囲で、困ったことなどはありませんでした。 全体に小規模旅館なのでオーナーのセンスが色濃く出ている部分もあり、そこが合うか合わないかで印象も変わってくるかもしれませんが、インテリアやスタンスなどトーンが整っていて、旅館としてバランスがとれていたと思います。

Throughout the 9-day trip to Nagoya, this is the best hotel I have ever stayed. Pros👍 🇯🇵The hotel is located right next to the Takayama JR station which is very convenient for luggage drop-off. 🇯🇵The interior design and environment is very nice. 🇯🇵 Love the hot springs (also include one for foot!) and the night view on rooftop even though it was raining. 🇯🇵The front desk staff are helpful and friendly. They speak English well. 🇯🇵The room size is bigger than expected, with a small table and two chairs. The room provides a great street view too! Cons👎 🇯🇵um I can’t think of any so far lol (maybe I just stayed for one night)

Country Hotel Takayama is the perfect home away from home in Takayama, Gifu Japan.This hotel is located right across the Nohi Bus Terminal which is right beside to Takayama Train Station. When you get off from the bus, you will immediately see the building. Aside from their perfect location, this hotel also has a KONBINI (are Japanese convenience stores) Family Mart at the ground floor, open 24 hours. Morning markets, Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine, Old Town Street, Hida Kokubunji Temple and Nakabashi bridge are a few tourist location you can easily access by walking (10-15 minutes) from the hotel. I was here last February 24 to 26, 2020. The room is quite spacious for me, got a single room type but I think it can accommodate 2 people in it. I was able to booked it online through Agoda.com for Php 4,024.78, not bad! It has complete basic amenities you can find in a room including a comfy sleeping robe. Room is super clean and smells so good. Considering I wrongly booked the smoking type room. The only downside I had about the room was that the heater was broken. It was so hot inside, thanked God it was winter time so I just slightly opened my window. So cold breeze from the outside can get in. Overall, Country Hotel Takayama is HIGHLY RECOMMEND aside from their perfect location. Staff are very good, speaks English and really helpful and accommodating. Their Manager helped me booked a taxi who is going to picked me up at the highway on my route to Gujo Hachiman. Because taxis in Gujo Hachiman are booked a day before your arrival and they don’t speak English at all. And If you’re a Filipino, you are most likely going to bumped into one of our kababayan who is working on this hotel. So far, she’s the only Pinoy here and she speaks Bisaya, from Davao City. This hotel is centrally located, just next to the Mercure. You leave your shoes in a locker and walk along the common areas barefooted or wearing socks. It's quite a hassle putting on shoes in the reception area to leave the hotel. The drawback of this system is that some guests remove the shoe cabinet keys when they check out. There's a pair of sandals in the room which you wear when you go to the toilet. This is different from other hotels in Japan where you can wear the sandals around the hotel. The hotel is only 1 block across the JR station with many restaurants around the area, less than 10 minutes leisure walk to the historic area. Room is very well maintained and spacious, with comfortable beddings, strong showers. The hotel is very responsive with my emails and questions, I feel that they are really trying their best to accomodate my request with occupant change that we really appreciate. Breakfast is adequate with a good selection of hot dishes, Japanese and continental. Overall a great hotel in Takayama
