This hotel is amazing! The rooms are spacious and very clean, the restaurant is great, there is an indoor pool, a sauna and a gym and the outside areas are also great. You don’t need to leave the premises. What makes this a five star rating: twice a day the rooms are provided with water. At the end of the day they will bring biscuits by, the restaurant is open all day (great when traveling with kids) - also for room- and pool-service. There are many activities for kids and they provide the cutest little presents for babies by arrival. They just have much attention for detail and really make an effort to make your stay pleasant! Make sure you don’t mind kids, since there are many of them ;)

Bellissimo hotel nel centro di Evora...un po' difficile da raggiungere in auto per via delle stradine strette del paesino ma dispone comunque di un parcheggio auto interno. Personale gentilissimo, parla fluentemente inglese. Sono stati molto carini all'accoglienza e si sono offerti di prenotarci il ristorante in città per noi. Camera spaziosa, fresca e pulita. Con cassaforte, aria condizionata, frigobar e angolo caffè con macchinetta a capsule. Posizione molto comoda per girare a piedi il centro di Evora. Davvero consigliato
Alentejo Marmòris Hotel & Spa, a Small Luxury Hotel of the World

This is a wonderful, unique hotel in Vila Vicosa. It's owner also owns one of the many marble quarries in the area and has made extensive use of Portuguese marble as well as marble from other countries in the décor of the hotel. Our room was the Arabe suite which was one of the largest, most opulent suites we've ever stayed in. Daily housekeeping was thorough and efficient and our bed was extremely comfortable. The daily breakfast was full of many different dishes, including typical European breakfast food, as well as pastries, eggs and sausage. Service at the hotel and dining areas was attentive and professional. The one issue, which seems to be unique to Portugal since I've never run into it before, is that one Nespresso coffee pod was provided each morning for free and each additional pod was 2 Euros each. Every hotel I've ever stayed in has always offered free in-room coffee. But, in the grand scheme of things, this was minor annoyance since coffee was plentiful in the dining area and included with breakfast.
Sleep & Nature Hotel

Too expensive for what it offers. Overbearing and foolish management that won't admit its mistakes. Decisions that favor business events instead of the relaxation they claim to offer leisure guests. Access is 1.5km on dirt, full of terraces from tractors, which makes it impossible for a car to go more than 10kms/h without breaking the shock absorbers. At check-in there was a group of around 50 people at the entrance to the hotel. We headed for the pool and were surprised by the same group on the pool terrace. It was a company team building event with food, drink and a lot of noise. It was impossible to rest. Small, plastic outdoor pool overlooking the air-conditioned rooms. The company's employees took over the hotel and filmed us with a drone while we were in the pool, without any authorization or warning. This is a clear disregard on the part of the hotel for the privacy of its guests. We went to the room and found the sheets and pillows dirty. The group continued to make noise all afternoon all over the property, on a peddy paper, running and shouting, and even peering into the bedroom windows in search of something. Later, we had dinner in the hotel restaurant and the group continued to sing Alentejo songs and drink at the bar throughout the meal. In addition, the dishes we ordered (cod and sea bream) were salty. After dinner we went to reception and told them that we didn't want to stay at the hotel next night, arguing what I'd explained and asking for a refund for the next night we wouldn't be staying. We were told that the next day they would talk to the superior to see what the situation was. On the way back to the room we found a plague of insects near the entrance and on the outside walls of our room and the adjoining rooms. The next day we showered and smelled of chlorine, the level used in the water. At breakfast the group was still in the hotel. We went to reception and the receptionists told us that we wouldn't be refunded the €190 for the night we hadn't stayed. We left and they kept the money. Relaxation and tranquility?!?
Convento do Espinheiro, Historic Hotel & Spa

We spent a wonderful seven nights at the Convento in May. We booked directly with the hotel and requested an upper floor room (there are only ground level or first floor rooms in the new part of the accommodation) which we were given. It was quite far from the reception (room 149) but was quite a big room with a balcony looking over the countryside and sun in the afternoon which was fantastic (and pushed up our daily steps quota!). The location of the hotel is perfect for those looking for a peaceful break. Évora is easily reached by taxi (average about 10€) but it's also worth giving the two on site restaurants a try. Be aware that it's best to reserve well in advance and the more informal Italian option wasn't open every night during our stay. The bar also does food but the one night we used this we had to wait a very long time for the food to arrive (not so much of a problem in the wonderful surroundings of the Convento, but still...). This is overall a 5 star property but there were some aspects which we thought required attention. As others have mentioned, you will need to book a time slot for your breakfast. There seemed to be frequent coachloads of mainly American tourists who all took breakfast during the earlier slots so you should bear this in mind. It didn't really bother us but we had to take a slot nearer to 09:00 every day which might be an inconvenience for some. We requested a kettle for our room as well as cups but had to ask three times before they were delivered to us. Towards the end of our stay we were pleasantly surprised to receive a complementary bottle of the house espumante. We really would recommend taking one of the wine tasting sessions and the short guided tour of the Convento. Apart from the fantastic location, the superb grounds and pool plus everything else we have mentioned, the 'fifth star' at this accommodation is definitely the staff who were always smiling and ready to help/offer advice when needed. Ecorkhotel Evora

Not a great start but did get better through the 4 days. Our arrival was frosty, especially madame manager who couldn’t crack a smile for her customers. Next it’s a 4 star hotel that wanted payment for the room upfront. Then they didn’t accept Amex and finally, laundry service was suspended but they could give us the details of do it yourself launderettes in the town. Not a good start to our expensive stay. That said we had a very nice bungalow, well maintained and a nice cool retreat from the blistering summer heat. Great shower pressure, comfortable beds. All the important things for a vacation. The weird process of having to book specific times for breakfast and dinner didn’t make much sense, especially since there were never more than 4 tables occupied for the times we were there. Could be a process still in place from the pandemic. The jewel was the roof pool and solarium. A lovely place to chill after tourism. The staff we engaged with were very nice and helpful. It’s a shame our initial experience was tainted by management and some obscure policies you’d not expect for a hotel with 4 stars.
Stay Hotel Évora Centro

We’ve been travelling for five weeks in Spain and Portugal and this is the first hotel we haven’t loved. The location is good…we walked to and from the bus station. Breakfast was really delicious but it was 8.5 Euros each on top of room in most other Portugal hotels, we’ve had breakfast included for similar price. We just didn’t love our room. I think maybe it hadn’t been upgraded yet. Even with air conditioner on the whole time, it only got down to 24 degrees. For us, the mattresses on top of the bed frames kept sliding off and pillows were really big & uncomfy. Also, it was 40 degrees there and there was no ice in the hotel no fridge in our room to cool down our water bottles. We ended up buying water in plastic bottles which we hate doing.
Heaven Inn Suites & Terrace

Our second stay in the en-suite room and, if possible, even more relaxing than the first time. The staff were superb, attentive and generous and the room was immaculate and peaceful. The breakfast is simple but enough to start the day for us. We went back because we wanted a few days of peace and quiet in a comfortable setting and that is exactly what we got. We said we would stay there again last time - and we have and will do again in the future.
Hilton Garden Inn Evora

We had spent 3 nights at this Hilton and we got a top rate service, starting from the reception, with Moises, Raquel, Davide, the room services are excellent, as the different restaurants, where I remember just Celso, Diogo, Paolo. The breakfast display is amazing. The rooms large with excellent beds, plus free cover parking for gold members. If in Evora don’t look around this is the place.
