The Engineer

I have great memories of a drinking session at the Engineer with some of the finest friends a man can have. That was years ago, and the place has changed a little since then, but it’s still a very pleasant place to drop into for lunch. The pub stands out in the street, with its huge windows and white paint job at ground level and then what looks like an attractive two storey house plonked on top. It’s named in honour of Isambard Kingdom Brunel and its pub sign still has the Charrington name on for some reason, a nod to the pub’s past perhaps.
