The Ship Aground

The public sector often likes to talk about pubs being at the heart of their community (so do developers before they try to knock them down). While this statement is more or less true depending on the venue, The Ship Aground really is the focal point for people living on the estates which surround it. I've visited twice now, and both times this comforting back street pub was busy with older folks playing cards or talking over a pint, blokes playing darts on the board hidden behind the bar and others dropping in for a drink.
