We had an offer from Strawberry with dinner which was really value for money. In addition to super service and food at the hotel, the city has an incredible amount to offer in terms of culture, food and drink experiences.. Charming city and hotel especially in the summer, but also all year round due to the mild climate.

This is the second year running that we have stayed here and were able to get the same room which was very convenient as it has a fridge and a lovely view, very useful on a long stay of 11 days. At our suggestion a coat hook had been added and it shows that they do listen to the customers suggestions and recommendations. You can refer to our previous review of last year for more details but overall a very pleasant stay and the staff made you feel at home.

The positives here are the location and the friendly staff. The big negative is the bar which becomes a local hangout at night. We stayed on a Saturday night, and were kept awake by the noise from the bar, and the patrons who gathered on the sidewalk outside, directly below our room, making lots of noise late into the night. We arrived after midnight from a wedding, and there were many drunk people filtering into the lobby, which was off-putting given that we were traveling with a child, and was not a setting we wanted to bring her into. The room was sparsely if adequately furnished, the decor is lacking, the bathroom feels institutional. There were external blinds on the windows, which are necessary due to morning sun. These did not appear to be controlled from within the room. We had a suite, and they were down in the bedroom, but not the living room where my daughter slept, so by 8 am her room was a greenhouse, too warm and uncomfortable. The breakfast was fine, nothing special. The setting by the water is nice. All in all it felt overpriced for what it was. The hotel needs to decide if they want to run a nightspot or a hotel, as the two are not compatible.
