First, the location is eye catching. The people are accommodating,  from the guards at the entrance to the staff, they all make you feel welcome and important. Their service is superbly excellent! I had a wonderful stay at Mandarin Plaza Hotel in Cebu! The location was excellent, just a short walk from Ayala Center Cebu and many great restaurants. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the free Wi-Fi worked well.

We had a booking at Mercure Hotel. We arrived at 3:45 PM and had to wait in a very long line for check-in because there were many guests. Unfortunately, the line we chose had the worst service. Many guests were having problems with their bookings because their reservations could not be found in the system. Some people were shouting at the attendant out of frustration because they had already waited four hours for their booking. In our case, we were traveling with our baby. Although we arrived at 3:45 PM, we were only able to check in at 9:00 PM. We were extremely tired and very frustrated. While we were eventually given a room, some tourists were transferred to another hotel because they could no longer be accommodated. This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I would like to commend the hotel’s amenities, cleanliness, and food they were all good. However, the shuttle bus going to the beach runs only once every hour, and the beach is quite far from the hotel, taking about 5–10 minutes to reach. It also seemed like there was no proper system for beach access. When we arrived at the beach, the guest attendants told us that we needed to get a bracelet coupon from the hotel first. However, this was never explained to us beforehand. The hotel itself is good, but the service and overall system were very disappointing

Staff is friendly, the location is good and they have different pools and activities for kids. Great for families. One of the pools was closed for a few days which wasn’t ideal. Breakfast is very complete and the restaurants serve good food for a reasonable price. I would suggest having more kid friendly toilets both in the hotel rooms and around the pool area.

I will not recommend this hotel to anyone. Poor service. First time in my life I got to use the bidet as shower. We called the receptionist for our complain about the unbearable hot temperature of their shower and we are told that they will call the engineering dept.to respond to the issue. But after almost an hour of waiting (imagine, I already got my body pre-showered,because I stopped when I felt that the water is so hot) we got a call asking if we will be extending our stay. And luckily, it was my husband who answered the call. And calmly replied, “No, we will be checking out in a moment”. Because if I were the one who got the chance to answer the call, then I will say “we will definitely not extending our stay. And never to come again.” I decided to just use the bidet as shower so we can leave the place. I hope this will not happen to anybody. Their price doesnt justify the means. NEVER AGAIN! 😌

I have been using Costabella for nearly 20 years and have always considered it a pleasant, well maintained hotel. In fact I even got married here! However, during my most recent stay, the experience fell noticeably short of expectations. We booked a poolside room and, after check in, I was genuinely surprised to find that the room was on the third floor. Based on my many previous stays, I had always understood poolside rooms to be those adjacent to the pool at ground level. If you are booking a poolside room, be aware that this may not be the case and expectations should be managed accordingly. The room itself was a little dated in style, but it was clean, comfortable, and well looked after. Housekeeping was consistent throughout the stay, which helped offset the older décor. The pool area is relatively small but generally well maintained. Unfortunately, it was extremely crowded throughout the day due to the large number of day pass visitors. As a result, there were no chairs or loungers available for hotel guests for most of the day, which was disappointing. On a positive note, the beach area was clean and pleasant. The food was the main let down. The buffet breakfast would rate no more than 4 out of 10. Much of the food had not been replenished, including empty juice and coffee stations, and what remained was cold and unappetising. However, it was better on the second day. Dinner was equally disappointing. Several main courses were served cold and had to be sent back to the kitchen twice. In the end, we cancelled two seafood dishes altogether, as reheating raised concerns about food quality and safety. The steak, which was once a highlight of Costabella for me, was extremely tough and far below the standard I have previously enjoyed. Overall, Costabella still has many positive qualities, but this stay did not reflect the standards I have previously associated with the resort and this will be my last visit. Unless the quality of the food and the management of guest capacity improve, I would find it difficult to recommend Costabella based on this recent experience.

Stayed for 2 nights with my family — our first time to try the new building/wing — and it truly exceeded our expectations. We were given two adjacent rooms with a common access area, making it feel like we were staying in our own private suite. The rooms were impeccably clean, thoughtfully designed, and very comfortable. The pool view from our rooms was soothing and relaxing, setting the perfect tone for a family getaway. Breakfast at the 12th floor was a delightful experience. We used to dine at Abalone in the OJ Wing during previous stays, but this time was extra special — great variety, excellent food quality, and warm, attentive staff who made the morning even more pleasant. The service throughout the resort was consistently exceptional — from check-in, housekeeping, and dining staff, everyone was courteous, welcoming, and always ready to help. Facilities are well-maintained, and the entire environment truly makes it feel like a premium family vacation destination. Highly recommended for family bonding and leisure. I enjoyed everything about this hotel. Just one complaint which isn't much. It advertises cable TV. In reality it is just one streaning App. TLC chennel. No instuctions on how to find it. When I finally figured it out. It kept buffering at times and would freeze up. Over all. I enjoyed my stay there. The whole staff were very freindly and accomadating. Excelent breakfast buffet as well as good food in the restaurant. In close walking distance of quite a few things to do and see. Overall I would give it a 4.8 out of 5
