What a beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of a hutong. The hotel has been styled gorgeously with lovely fringed sofas and lamps in the communal spaces. Local girls dress up and use the hotel as a photoshoot location which is fun to see. The room was spacious for a family of three with a huge bed and a sofabed. Lovely bathroom with shower and Japanese style toilet. All immaculately clean. What made the stay extra special was the service provided by the very kind staff. They were all so accommodating and friendly. I could not have asked for a better introduction to Beijing and would stay again in a heartbeat.

Evrything was excellent. The breakfast was very diversified and tasty. The laundry room offered 4 washing machines and 4 dryer which is very convenient. The gym is also in a separate room. The hall has a billard table that you can easily enjoy and there’s some games as well. The room was well maintained and clean. The mini fridge in the room was a must ✨ There’s a mall on the other side of the street with fashion stores and restaurants and also the subway station which is only 5min walk. Overall, we will definitely come back in this hotel in our next trip to Beijing.

Facilities: The room facilities are very convenient, fully smart, and it was really comfortable to stay in. Plus, it's super easy to get here by subway — we even talked about making this our regular place to stay in the future. Hygiene: The room is just the right size and very clean. 👍 Environment: Green-themed, fresh, and cozy. Service: The service is very thoughtful. We arrived quite late last night, and they called to ask what time we'd be checking in, and even upgraded our room in advance. Nice! 👍

My son and I loved this hotel. It’s beautiful, modern, and in a fantastic location. We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a suite, which gave us an amazing accommodation with two rooms and two bathrooms. I especially loved that there was a yoga mat in the room, so I managed to fit in a little yoga session during our stay. We also went to the pool every day, which was perfect given how hot the weather was. Breakfast was excellent, with a great selection of both Asian and European dishes. The location couldn’t be better—the metro station is just a short walk away, and there are two shopping centres with food courts, as well as plenty of local shops and restaurants nearby. We would definitely stay here again the next time we’re in Beijing.

MO hotels are usually very well located and this one is no exception. It is like an oasis in the middle of the hustle bustle of Wangfujing and I looked forward to my return to the quiet and solitude of the hotel after suffering the torture of accompanying my wife to numerous shopping malls nearby. We have travelled extensively all over the world and are familiar with well known hotels. I was expecting top notch service with warm hospitality and the hotel certainly lived up to the expectations. All the staff were warm, polite and helpful. Some are more fluent in English than others, but it was not an issue at all. Check in/check out was smooth. Stena at the front desk was very efficient and courteous. Osgood with his pins was also very friendly and saved me the trouble of finding a post office. The dining room staff spoke excellent English and I felt great when one lady said my pronunciation of 谢谢 was perfect. They really know how to make the guests feel happy ! Breakfast buffet had a good mix. After three weeks of travelling in China eating steamed buns, fried rice and noodles for breakfast I was desperate for some proper continental breakfast and the hotel definitely delivered. One of the best almond croissants that I have ever eaten. The egg benedict was perfect. My small gripe with the Avo toast is that I am used to having the Avo mashed and spread on the bread with a bit of lemon/salt and not served just as slices on bread. No big deal of course. Our room did have a partial view of the forbidden city, you get better view from their terrace. I regret that I did not have time to enjoy the pool. Lovely big bathroom , his and hers basins and a separate WC with one of those Toto modern toilets with many buttons, even separate settings for two users ! Very good sound proofing. One small thing that impressed me was that I had left several cables plugged to the wall socket in the morning. On my return I saw house keeping has neatly tidied up all the cables and even used a cable tie to make them look very organised ! This is not a huge hotel and that makes the experience more personal. It does not have a grand lobby and you may be disappointed that the entrance is common with a shopping mall. But as soon as you step out of the lift it oozes old world charm and sense of peace and solitude. Incidentally my daughter was staying at the MO in Barcelona at the same time and told us Bad Bunny was staying there and it has turned into a circus. Thankfully no celebrities and their fans disturbed our peace. Have a look at the room key card. It is designed by Timmy Yip, who was the art director of one my my most favourite films Couching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. I appreciated the gifts at the time of leaving. My one little comment is that I found the pillows a bit on the soft side. Some hotels have a pillow menu where the guests can choose pillows with different level of firmness. Maybe the management can look into that. Overall a very satisfying stay and I'd certainly consider staying here if I return to Beijing.

At ~RMB600 per night, including breakfast, during the low season, this 5 star hotel offers excellent value for money. **The good points:** - The shuttle bus driver was very polite and helpful, and assisted us with our luggage. - The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. - The room was very clean, with high ceilings that made it feel spacious. **The biggest disappointment was definitely the breakfast.** We paid an extra RMB 100 per person to have breakfast included, but honestly, it was one of the worst breakfasts I have ever experienced at a five-star hotel. The fried eggs were all prepared in advance and left out on display, and for some reason, they were placed on top of slices of bread. The drinks were not refilled for over an hour, even after they had run out. Nobody came to clear our used plates, so by the end of breakfast, our table was completely covered with plates and glasses. Meanwhile, the staff were just standing nearby chatting with each other. And overall, the food does not taste good. **Another issue was the air conditioning.** The room felt rather stuffy, and the air conditioning was not powerful enough. I had already set it to the lowest temperature (16°C) and the highest fan speed, but the room temperature displayed remained at 22°C throughout our stay. In reality, it felt even warmer than that. On the positive side, the windows could be opened to let in some fresh air. However, doing so meant having to put up with considerable noise from passing cars and aircraft. Overall, the hotel offers great value for money during the low season, especially considering the room quality and friendly front desk service. However, the breakfast experience was far below what I would expect from a five-star hotel.

Amazing! We spent five nights staying in a deluxe king room with terrace/balcony at The Purple Horse Hotel in Beijing at the end of June 2026.. The location is excellent. The hotel is situated in the heart of a Hutong which offers a calm quiet and serene experience in the middle of a bustling city, only a short walk to restaurants and shops. The Hutong itself is a great experience, it's safe and friendly and we enjoyed chatting to the locals at the corner shop. The hotel is absolutely wonderful. It's less than two years old and It is finished to a really high standard, the attention to detail is incredible. It felt luxurious with the highest quality furnishings and the bathroom and shower were like something you would find in a spa. Our room had great views over the Hutong and the Beijing skyline and had excellent air conditioning. We had a buffet breakfast and a buffet dinner included and it was delicious and served in a beautiful restaurant on the top floor. Above that there was an amazing rooftop terrace with an outdoor swimming pool, a cocktail bar and 360⁰ views of the city. There is also a Peking duck restaurant on the ground floor, a gym and a self service complimentary laundry room. The best thing about this hotel is the staff. The level of service and the attentiveness of the staff is at a level that we have never experienced before. The staff are super friendly and polite and they are always trying to help. Our room was cleaned to an immaculate level every day and we were often left little gifts and kind notes. The service in the restaurant was great and once again always really kind and friendly, special mention to Nieve for looking after us so well. Anything we needed, any questions we had, the staff really went out of their way to help us and did so with big smiles on their faces and we had fun times in our interactions with them. Everyone had a good level of English, especially the front for house staff and management . If you want a comfortable, clean, modern hotel with great facilities, in a great, safe location and would like staff that will advise and help you and direct you and even organise trips and transport for you, then this is the hotel for you. We would like to thank some of the staff that really went out of their way to help us. Ella and Anduo who organised a print shop for us and helped us find some specific gift shops. Nieve for making us smile everyday in the restaurant. The housekeeping team for making our room so clean, comfortable and amazing every day. Terry the manager for being a really nice guy, for taking the time to talk to us and ask us if we needed anything everyday. And Kevin for making us some really nice tea and helping us with everything when we were checking out. We have stayed in hotels all over the world but this one will always stand out for being that little bit different, for being so immaculate and for going the extra mile. I had an incredible weekend at Club Med Joyview Beijing Yanqing! It was the perfect family escape, offering a fantastic blend of fun and relaxation. The location was ideal, being just a scenic 1.5-hour drive from downtown Beijing. The resort had something for everyone: the kids adored the massive indoor water park and the huge sports hall, while the amazing G.O. team kept everyone entertained with nightly shows and lively parties. We enjoyed the delicious buffet food and even visited the resort's own Cloud Winery for a unique experience. What made it truly special was the hassle-free, joyful atmosphere that allowed both kids and adults to have a great time. It was a refreshing and recharging getaway that I highly recommend.
