The hotel's facilities are excellent, and the rooms are incredibly spacious. Each room even has an oxygen generator. You can see the Potala Palace right from the lobby, and the view from the Tufan Bar on the sixth floor is particularly stunning. The location is unbeatable, right on the central Jiangsu Road. The Lhasa Municipal Committee is directly opposite the hotel, and Barkhor Street is within walking distance. Overall, it's highly recommended. Breakfast is semi-buffet style, where you order your main course. On the first morning, my two elderly parents went to the restaurant by themselves. Either due to a communication issue or staff oversight, no one helped them order. Consequently, my parents complained that the breakfast selection was so limited, and they only ate a few small pastries.

I booked a room with a Potala Palace view, and it truly felt like the entire palace was right in front of me – the view was absolutely perfect. The bedding was also very comfortable, and I slept wonderfully every night of my four-night stay. The facilities were comprehensive, with nasal oxygen equipment and a humidifier, both working well. The bathroom facilities were a bit basic, and there was a slight odor from the floor drain. Every night, fresh fruit and yogurt were delivered to the room; the yogurt was delicious. There's no private parking lot, so you have to walk about 100 meters, but the hotel reimburses the parking fee.

Staying at this hotel in Lhasa, I really want to recommend it to all my girlfriends! The location is absolutely amazing, super close to Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Street, all within walking distance ✨. It used to be the old Nepalese Consulate, so it naturally has a 400-year historical vibe. The courtyard is perfect for taking photos in ******* outfits! They offer a free ******* outfit experience + 10 free travel photos, and you can even get a direct view of the Potala Palace from the third-floor terrace! The rooms come standard with an oxygen generator and humidifier. The little basket by the bed even has face masks and makeup remover wipes – a dream come true for anyone who loves attention to detail 🥹. Upon check-in, they present you with a Hada (a traditional ******* silk scarf) and serve sweet tea. You can also experience tsampa making for free, making the check-in experience absolutely fantastic!

I stayed at this hotel from June 5-7 2026. The official check in time is listed at 2 pm. They did not give me access to my room until after 4 pm. Furthermore, laundry is listed as included service and they said their facility was not working and had to send it somewhere else. They charged me a hefty fee. I believe it’s a misnomer for this hotel to call themselves “international” This hotel really only caters to Chinese speaking populations, which is fine and the typical situation in Lhasa, but to be more accurate, the hotel shouldn’t make the claim “international.” That would typically imply better more comprehensive services for people outside of one population and nationality. This hotel is listed as 5 stars in Lhasa. I have traveled to many countries and stayed in many 5 star hotels. According to my experience, this hotel doesn’t measure up to a 5 star standard. Perhaps it did in the past. 5 star hotels typically have much better restaurants and dining options. The room was clean and I had a nice view.

Many people, myself included, often debate between the St. Regis and the Shangri-La, as both hotels in Beijing are quite unremarkable. Ultimately, I chose the Shangri-La for its value for money. I had considered Songtsam too, but common sense told me to be a smart spender. Although the hotel shows its age, its architectural style is grand and refined, revealing luxurious material choices. Time has inevitably left its mark, but a classic car, even when old, is still a classic car. Moreover, service and quality require time to accumulate and withstand market scrutiny. While the Shangri-La may not have many existing locations, it still holds a strong market advantage, and it takes an discerning eye to appreciate it. My butler, Bowen, arranged my room before I even arrived. Looking out the window at the Potala Palace's silhouette in the distance immediately set the mood. He then meticulously delivered on all aspects of my package. I found Bowen to be a man of few words but very steady, highly responsive, and an exceptionally smooth driver. He never asked inappropriate or subjective questions, which I truly appreciated. Over three days, Bowen's accompaniment added a unique dimension to my Lhasa itinerary. Among the few Tibetans I've encountered, he was a definite plus. I sincerely wish him all the best in his work! The Shangri-La in Lhasa lives up to its brand's standards and enhances the reputation of its sister properties. I'm so glad I made the right choice; this will be a memorable and wonderful travel experience.

This hotel is absolutely stunning, with a rich ******* style that makes every photo-op a winner. Seeing so many international guests here shows how popular it is with tourists from all over the world. The front desk staff are incredibly warm and great communicators; they resolve issues quickly and even help guests pick out ******* clothing and enthusiastically assist with photos. If you book a day in advance, the hotel provides a private car service to major attractions, which is super convenient. On the second floor, there are complimentary massage chairs – perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing! And I have to mention the breakfast: *******, Western, and Chinese dishes, plus a great selection of fruits. It’s incredibly diverse, with handsome chefs freshly preparing ******* noodles, Chongqing noodles, pho, and rice vermicelli, catering to all tastes. If I had to choose again, I'd definitely stay here.

Beautiful hotel that still preserves its historical architecture with modern luxuries. We enjoyed the heated floor (it's so comfortable to walk around) and the oxygen machine (a lifesaver when we just reached Lhasa!). Special thanks to Guest Service staff - 次塔 for coordinating breakfast and housekeeping with us throughout our stay, and for helping to safekeep our forgotten item when we checked out! Her warm hospitality helped us ease into the high altitude environment more easily! Oh and don't forget to try the Indian restaurant within the hotel - it's extremely delicious and the price is affordable! We hope to return soon!

Returned to the Hilton Shigatse and loved it just as much as before! My account manager, Wang Haitao, called me in advance to check on my needs. Upon arrival, all the staff were incredibly warm and attentive. Manager Wang Haitao even personally came to my room to ask if I was feeling unwell and brought me fruit and dried nuts. Extremely satisfied! The hotel is very close to Barkhor Street and Potala Palace, both within walking distance, making its location absolutely superb! The hotel elevator goes directly to the 6th floor, where there's a popular cafe that's perfect for photos. Atour is a chain, so it's very clean and well-equipped with a light luxury feel. The Dyson hairdryer, high-quality pajamas, Peet's coffee, and a coffee machine are all highlights. Most importantly, the hotel also offers a video shoot of the 'dryland scallion pulling' experience, a welcome gift, and afternoon tea/coffee! There's also a butler service; you can just WeChat them if you need anything. Truly excellent! 👍🏻

I absolutely love Farly Hotel. The staff, both the ladies and gentlemen, are incredibly kind and welcoming. The hotel offers a wide range of activities, like spinning prayer wheels and performing sang offerings. I particularly recommend the evening sound bath experience and the morning Pilates. The instructor's stretching exercises really helped improve my posture. I also woke up early to watch the sunrise, but there's a mountain to the east of Farly, so the sun actually appears about 45 minutes after the official sunrise time. Still, it was a beautiful sight.
