AAnonymous UserOur stay at Manon Boutique Hotel Semarang was a mix of pleasant surprises and a few frustrating moments.
First, the good things. Since the hotel lobby isn't located on the ground level, the security staff was very helpful in assisting us with our luggage, which we really appreciated. Check-in and check-out were also quick and hassle-free.
Unfortunately, the bathroom could use some attention. The shower drain didn't drain properly, leaving water pooling on the floor and making the shower area a bit slippery. The shower pressure was also quite weak, so it took quite a while to rinse off. The hot water worked, but it was only warm rather than genuinely hot.
Another thing that caught us off guard was our room window. The room had a window, but instead of a view or natural light, it faced another wall. We had a little laugh when we opened the curtains because we weren't expecting that. I suppose it's there to make the room feel less enclosed, but don't expect any morning sunshine.
The most confusing part of our stay was the breakfast arrangement. The night before checkout, my husband asked whether we could have our breakfast packed to go since we planned to leave very early. The hotel staff initially told us it wasn't possible. Later that evening, however, someone from the restaurant informed us that takeaway breakfast could indeed be arranged, so we thought everything had been settled.
The next morning, my husband checked with the receptionist, who had no idea about our breakfast request. He then went to the restaurant, where they also seemed unaware. After returning to our room and calling the restaurant directly, they finally prepared our breakfast. We still have no idea where the miscommunication happened, but fortunately we had already decided to cancel our early morning plan. Otherwise, we probably would have left without breakfast. We also weren't informed about takeaway drinks, and by then we were simply too tired to ask.
Thankfully, the breakfast itself made up for a lot. The Monte Cristo Bliss sandwich was absolutely fantastic and easily the highlight of our stay.
Would we come back? Maybeâfor the Monte Cristo Bliss alone. The hotel has many positives, but communication between the front desk and the restaurant definitely needs to be improved. With better coordination and a few maintenance fixes, the overall experience would have been much smoother.

They are spotless, thoughtfully designed, and maintained to a standard that would not feel out of place in a well-rated international 4-star property.
What truly elevates the experience, however, is the management and ownership behind it all. There is a noticeable precision in how everything operatesâfrom the smooth check-in process to the overall atmosphere of calm efficiency. Itâs clear that someone is paying close attention to the finer points that many hotels overlook.
The staff deserve special recognition. They are consistently polite, professional, and impressively efficient without ever feeling rushed or impersonal. Service here strikes that rare balance between warmth and competence.
Breakfast is another highlightâgenuinely exceptional. The quality, variety, and presentation go beyond what you would typically expect at this level, turning what is often a routine meal into something to look forward to each morning.
Location-wise, itâs hard to fault. Perfectly positioned for exploring Solo, everything feels conveniently within reach.
All things considered, the 3-star rating is genuinely surprising. By international standards, this hotel comfortably performs at a 4-star level, if not beyond in certain aspects. FIM by Zigna is a standout example of what happens when strong management, attention to detail, and genuine care for the guest experience come together.

HHENDRO PRDOn my frequent business trips to Semarang, I always stay at the PO Hotel, which is conveniently located next to Paragon Mall. It's a 5-star hotel in the city center, offering a nice staycation experience. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and for dinner, I just walk to PG Mall through the connected doorway. The breakfast menu is also comprehensive and delicious. My suggestion for PO Hotel would be to upgrade the TVs to smart TVs and add more local channels, specifically Anteve and Indosiar, if possible.

OOn the earthI always choose this hotel whenever I visit the area because it consistently provides a comfortable and convenient stay. The biggest advantage is its excellent location. The hotel is directly connected to a shopping mall, making it incredibly easy to shop, dine, or simply relax without having to travel far. Whether I need daily necessities, restaurants, cafés, or entertainment, everything is just a few steps away. This convenience saves both time and transportation costs, which makes every trip much more enjoyable.
Another reason I keep coming back is its outstanding value for money. The room rates are reasonable considering the quality of the facilities and the prime location. The rooms are clean, well-maintained, and equipped with everything I need for a comfortable stay. The staff are also friendly, polite, and always willing to help whenever assistance is needed, making the overall experience even more pleasant.
I also appreciate how easy it is to access nearby attractions and business areas from the hotel. Whether I am traveling for work or on vacation, the location perfectly suits my needs. After a busy day, I can simply walk into the shopping mall to enjoy a good meal or do some shopping before returning to my room.
Overall, this hotel offers the perfect combination of convenience, comfort, and affordability. Its unbeatable location next to the shopping mall and its excellent value for money make it my first choice every time I visit. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable stay at a reasonable price.

AAnonymous UserNice staycation at one of the 4-star hotels in the heart of Semarang, near Simpang Lima. It's a cool new hotel, clean, and has a strategic location. Right next to the hotel, there are plenty of food options, like Tegal goat satay and authentic Semarang Hapkie noodles, plus a Superindo supermarket across the street.
I often stay at this hotel chain for business trips. The breakfast menu has a good variety, including dim sum. The only downside is that the rooms don't have wardrobes, drawers, or anything like that, so there's no space to store belongings.
One more important thing: please offer more attractive big discounts so I'll always book through vendors like Trip.com.

The stay was good the food was amazing however I do have to say that in the four star hotel class in central samarang there are a lot of other choices so feel free to take a look at those first but do not leave novotel entirely out of your list.

The staff were also very kind and helpful, offering great recommendations for nearby attractions, which I really appreciated. Thanks to them, I had a wonderful trip. GGuest UserOmah Alchy Cottages was, without question, the highlight of our trip to Karimunjawa Island. Everything about this place was exceptional.
The service was outstanding from start to finish. The staff were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our stay memorable. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, providing the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the island.
What truly sets Omah Alchy apart, however, is its breathtaking location. Step outside your bungalow and you're right by the sea. The property has its own jetty stretching out over the water, which became our favorite spot every evening to watch the most spectacular sunsets. Seeing the sun sink into the horizon over the calm sea was simply unforgettable.
As an added bonus, guests can use the free canoes to paddle out on the water and enjoy the beautiful surroundings from a different perspective. It's the kind of place where you can completely switch off and appreciate the natural beauty of Karimunjawa.
If you're visiting Karimunjawa Island, do yourself a favor and stay here. Omah Alchy Cottages offers an incredible combination of stunning scenery, fantastic accommodation, and genuinely wonderful hospitality. We would return in a heartbeat.
