On a clear day with no clouds, the atmosphere is perfect for couples and families. The hotel services are great, including the breakfast and the onsen.
A very lovely hotel that is a heaven for kids.
They have all the necessities you might need for babies to preschooler. Great staff, all friendly and helpful and really great amenities. Located in a peaceful lovely town with very kind and friendly locals.
Only gripe is that the soundproofing of the rooms are non existent! We could hear the entire conversation of the guest next door.
90% local Japanese guests but surprisingly they are not the usual polite and considerate guests. They allow their kids to run and scream down the hallways outside the rooms as early as 6am and late as 11pm, the adults themselves are talking loudly too. So, if you're a light sleeper who goes to bed early, this hotel is not for you.
Perfect stay for an authentic Japanese experience! We loved the building, food, staff and amenities provided. We selected a tatami style room for 4 and it was just the right size, however do note that suitcases are only allowed at the entrance platform of the room and not into the tatami bit due to the nature of the flooring. The hotel breakfast is highly recommended for a great slow and healthy start of the morning! There is also a rooftop area which was a bonus surprise for us as you can view Mount Fuji from there (if it says hi). Above all, the public bath was amazing - we went every day haha
Good location, not too far from Oishi park. You need a car to easily reach the guesthouse. The place is old, but have everything you need. The good thing is the public hot tub, you can privately take it after long days of travel.
We were so impressed when we checked in around 6pm—Mt. Fuji was perfectly clear! The reception staff were very thoughtful, explaining the onsen, activities, and double-checking our booking. They even guided us to the camping site and let us fill bottles with Mt. Fuji’s pure mineral water—so welcoming.
Breakfast and BBQ dinner were excellent, with fresh ingredients and tasty meat. The staff were very helpful during the night-time BBQ—amazing service! The private toilet, shower, and onsen were very clean.
Convenient location near a supermarket, and we even saw Mt. Fuji again when checking out. We’ll definitely come back!
I was able to check in an hour early when i arrived here. The vibe of the hostel front is awesome - they have this relaxed bar/restaurant/couched seating area, where outside patrons and hostel guests alike can commune. I stayed in a mixed dormitory, and again that was great. Slept really well, felt safe, luggage was secure. Great location, too - not hard to get from the station if you have a lot of luggage.

Great
GGuest UserA hidden gem of a hotel with spectacular views of Mount Fuji! I booked a random room just a week before Golden Week, and upon entering, I was immediately struck by how spacious and bright it was. The room itself was also very roomy and incredibly clean. Both of their hot springs offer direct, panoramic views of Mount Fuji! The large floor-to-ceiling windows in the breakfast restaurant started my day off beautifully. It happened to be Children's Day in Japan, and the hotel thoughtfully provided games and movies for the kids. I was very satisfied with this stay. I highly recommend staying two or three nights – it's truly rejuvenating.
NNathalie KarmannThe self check-in was very strange. There were many Japanese staff and a foreign staff members but they insisted that I my name and address manually.
Then I had to pay the onsen tax, which is fair.
The machine suggested either cash or credit card. I chose credit card and then the staff suddenly popped his head out to tell me to pay cash, which is extremely strange.
It was very confusing. Either they set up their machine correctly, or they should stick to traditional check-in since they have a lot of staff. Still after I paid it took quite some time to get the key, they were ineffective.
The room was OK, even though my booking was for 2 BEDS and 1 futon but only got 3 MATTRESSES on the tatami floor...
I really enjoyed the bathtub with a view on the lake although there are only few of these bathrooms.
The outside onsen looked nice but one of the baths was out of use, unfortunately.
GGuest UserWe came for the playground and closeness to the fruit farms. They playground was terrific, or at least thats what can be interpreted when you need toddlers to do something - anything is agreeable before ‘playground’. Finishing food, brushing teeth are suddenly all ok. The style of the hotel is polished, there’s lounge with premium room bookings, three elevators with space to push in a trolley and 2 strollers(rare in Japan), matches 4.5 star international expectations. We didnt use the hotspring as we came with an infant and toddler. The breakfast was a very nice spread of one section japanese one section western, and a one hour window!
GGuest UserFor any Yuru Camp anime fans, if you also are interested in an Onsen experience this is the perfect place. The facilities and staff are amazing! I couldn't believe the size of my room, especially after coming from a business hotel in Tokyo. I thought Deluxe Twin was just the ”deluxe” version of a standard single twin size bed room instead of two twin beds but there are no complaints.
Given it's more remote location I was expecting zero English but I was so surprised at how well some of the staff spoke English and had print outs for English speakers. I have to shout out two staff members, Nozomi and Joon Bae's english combined with my limited and grammatically atrocious Japanese they went above and beyond making me understand how everything worked as well as assisting me with my ventures outside of the onsen. They have two e-bikes available for rent which I rode to the next station on the minobu line so I could visit the school that was used in the anime as well as get a taxi to take me to Lake Shibere, from episodes 6 and 7 of season one.
It was my first time in Japan, being the only foreigner at the hotel for the two full days, I only visited the baths once however the facilities are amazing and I plan on going back to use the Onsen more.
RRon_NYanagiya is a nice little local onsen. They do not have too many rooms so you will not feel overcrowded. It is a nice place to spend for days to relax your body and mind.
Staff are very friendly and helpful. They can speak limited English but in case you come across any issue with language, feel free to use translation app.
If you are driving, the onsen is easy to find and there is a carpark in front of the Onsen with plenty of space. There are also 2 x EV charging but not sure if they are for onsen guess.
The room is spacious, clean and tidy. The air conditioner is featured with heater and cooler function, so you don't have to worry about weather during winter and summer.
The hot spring is open for 24 hrs, except time when they swap between male and female access, usually it takes 30 minutes and they take this opportunity to clean up the facilities too.
Food are generally fine and portion is reasonable. Staff are caring d considerate. We have two kids at age of 7 and 9 and they do not take spicy or raw food. When they noticed, they have offered to tailor made the breakfast for the kids so that they don't prepare food that kids do not eat.
수수비니버스Service staff were efficient, although queueing to trade your keys for your shoes slowed things down. (Understandable, because this is also a day-trip onsen, so the hotel needs to ensure all tabs are covered before letting guests go.)
Facilities were old but well-maintained, although my room window couldn't be closed without force. Wide variety of baths to choose from, and convenient hours.
Note that there is no shampoo, conditioner or body soap in guestrooms, as this is an onsen facility - all soaps and bath amenities are provided in the onsen area.
Several onsite restaurants providing many food options, which made up for the lack of vegetarian-friendly options around the area.
OOppa LimA short drive from Lake Yamanaka, we checked into here for the night—mainly because we wanted to explore the area and try the region’s famous Hōtō noodles.
We chose a traditional Japanese futon room for the experience. That meant laying out our own beds—slightly clumsy, a bit of trial and error, and a lot of laughing when we realised there’s no “redo” once everything’s set.
The weather had a chill to it, so the onsen became the highlight. Stepping into the hot water while the cold air lingered outside—it slowed everything down in a way you don’t realise you need.
Nothing extravagant, nothing overly planned. Just the four of us, figuring things out as we went.
Looking back, it wasn’t the hotel or even the lake—it was those small, unpolished moments that made the night feel complete.
GGuest User- **Unbeatable Views**: All rooms offer direct, breathtaking views of Mount Fuji. You can enjoy the stunning mountain and lake scenery from your private onsen bath, balcony, and even the fireplace area, with spectacular sunrises and sunsets.
- **Ultimate Private Onsen Experience**: All 32 suites feature a semi-open-air natural hot spring bath (fed by Mount Fuji volcanic rock), with fresh water and disinfection daily, ensuring maximum privacy.
- **Impeccable Service**: The concierge service is attentive, efficient, and discreet. The kaiseki dinner and breakfast, featuring seasonal, fresh ingredients, are beautifully presented.
AAnonymous UserPros: Close to nature with beautiful scenery. They focus on the experience, and both breakfast and dinner are self-cooked. If you book in advance for a weekday, they can drop you off at the station. The staff are very polite.
Cons: Transportation isn't very convenient. You have to take a taxi from Kawaguchiko Station, and taxis are hard to come by – you might wait around 40 minutes. The hotel only offers pickup service for guests with a Japanese mobile number. Check-out time at 10:00 AM is too early. Breakfast ingredients are delivered at 8 AM, so by the time you cook, eat, clean up, and wash the dishes, it's already check-out time. You also have to wash your own dishes after breakfast and dinner, but the tap water in the mountains in early spring is freezing cold. The Pao (yurt/tent) is quite damp and has a musty smell; even the curtains are moldy.
GGuest UserA classic old-school modern hotel with ryokan-type service. The room is huge and has excellent views of the river. On a good day, it should be possible to see Mount Fuji as well. There is also big onsen area with an outdoor bath area.
Dinner is served on the ground floor restaurant and it was a delicious multicourse meal which includes really good wagyu steak with wasabi shoyuzuke. Dessert also includes the region's famed grapes. Breakfast was served buffet style with selection of Japanese and western items.
I drove to the hotel with a rental car. It is not too far from a station on a local line but I recommend driving around to explore instead. The patrons to the hotel also seemed more local.
