The Granville Hotel is a 4-star hotel in the centre of Waterford city and, from our experience (4 couples who stayed there for 1 night in 4 double room), it is worthy of that star rating. We ate dinner together in its lovely Bianconi Restaurant and were very happy with the food and drink we were served and with the excellent service. Breakfast was also served there, and the level of service and choice of fare offered were also very good - including the hot food options which were cooked to order and brought to the table rather than delivered via a self-service buffet. We stayed in standard double rooms which were quite spacious, well decorated, clean and well heated (we were there in February), Our rooms also had air conditioning, which we did not need to use. Here are another couple of things to be aware of: The Granville does not have its own cark park but has an arrangement with the Clock Tower Car Park across the road. Bus Eireann's Expressway bus terminus is a short walk away on ther other side of the road, while Waterford's railway station is on the other side of the River Suir (walkable at a push). It doesn't have a swimming pool or a spa but that didn't bother us.

We had an excellent 3 night stay in Dooleys. Our Double Room was in very good condition, spotlessly clean & tidy, the staff were welcoming, friendly & helpful. The Hotel is in an excellent location on the Waterfront a few minutes walk from the Museums, opposite the Bus Station, walking distance from the railway station across the bridge, close to the cycle hire and at the start/end of the Waterford - Dungarvan Green Cycle way. The Hotel has both an alacarte restaurant and great bar menu, is walking distance from several other good restaurants and the shopping centre. Live Irish Music is played in the Bar in the evenings - all in all we had a great experience at Dooleys

Great location quayside with the restaurant right on the waterfront and a really short walk to all the places of interest. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food and drink was good from the restaurant and the breakfast good also.

Stayed for 2 night on a b&b and evening meal package, room very very small to the stage it felt suffocating with myself a teenager and a 5 year old. Rooms are very dated and I don't know if it's just the room I got (room 122) or all of them but there was literally no wardrobe space or anywhere to store clothing or cases! The bathroom was OK definitely on the smaller side and the stopper didn't stop the water from leaving the bath even with it in the water was running down the drain! Daughter attended the kids club and had a great time in it she kept asking to go back. Food overall was gorgeous had dinner in restaurant on first night was 10/10, staff were brilliant and food was out very fast.It's a shame I can't say the same about night 2 we opted for food in the bar area I spent from 7.32 until 7.58 waiting to order food with the barmen serving in no order at all it seemed they took food/ drink orders from who they felt like, leaving myself another man and a woman waiting for over 30 minutes to be served I ended up going to reception and asking the girl was there someone I can order from she promptly went into the bar and spoke to one of the barmen who took my order approx 5 mins after she went into him. Service in the bar seemed to be all over the place on both nights the barmen kept apologising about the delay yet he was wondering around like a headless chicken doing everything yet doing nothing! Again the food was lovely cleared plates all around just the service was absolutely shocking it would put me off going to the bar there again.

Our wedding at the Majestic Hotel was truly a dream come true! From the moment we stepped foot on the property, we knew we had made the right choice. The facilities were impeccable, the staff were incredibly accommodating, and the ambiance was simply breathtaking. Laura went above and beyond to ensure that every detail was perfect. Her attention to detail and dedication to making our day special were truly exceptional. From the initial planning stages to the day of the wedding, she was always there to answer our questions and provide guidance. The reception and dining was nothing short of spectacular. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the fish and chips, seabass and the service was impeccable. The music kept everyone on their feet and dancing the night away. The garden area was a picturesque setting for our wedding photos, with stunning views of the beach and sea. The Majestic Hotel has everything you need to make your wedding day unforgettable. The beautiful dining area, the spacious dance floor, and the stunning surroundings all contribute to a truly magical experience. We cannot recommend this hotel enough to anyone planning their special day. It is a truly majestic venue that will exceed your expectations in every way.

Had a client interview today in the Viking Hotel and was struck by the excellent customer service especially from KateLynn in the bar/ restaurant. Given she is only one week in the job (!) her attention to detail, kindness and professional support made everything easy and relaxed. She guided me to the quietest corner of the restaurant to do the interview, checked we had refreshments we needed, and provided customer service with a smile as I ordered lunch. It's a great hotel anyway but wanted especially to make this comment. Thank you. Pat
