Hotel Dengan breakfast di Hanover, Jamaica

This was my second time at the hotel, the first in 2019. The rooms have deteriorated with a very strong smell of damp. After some heavy rain during my stay, i saw water running down the walls - my room was on the 3rd floor. The food, save for at the Indian and Posidan Al a carte restaurants were mediocre at best. On the positive side most of the staff were a joy to interact with. The location is amazing as is Sunset cove beach which is my favourite spot. The entertainment had improved tremendously from the DJ's to the singers. Such exceptional talent. Unfortunately I do not think I'll book a third stay due to the conditions of the room despite the cost and the phenomenal expense of transportation should you wish to leave the resort

Good Birthday trip!  The room is good with very comfortable beds.  Poor design of bathroom bc entry.  Lighting was an issue as we still didn’t figure out how they work.  It seems all ON or OFF - bedside lamp did not work independently.  JAMROCK restaurant seem to be the hit.  The entertainment crew - Donald, Tyrese, Romain, Tiffany, Shanel, Naomi, Prince are top tier.  Romaine the fitness instructor was very good - yoga, Pilates and aquacise EXCELLENT!   The 24 hour coffee shop was amazing- Crystal knows her thing.  Jodadene at the Azure pool bar kudos.  Cons - If you are looking to experience Jamaica’s natural beaches this is not the resort for you… the corridors outside the rooms are hot and unkind.  Architect should have done a sustainable plant wrap around the buildings.  No cooling system  in lobby area so it gets warm…

Check in went bizarrely unhinged and mismanaged. The next day management visited to rectify the horror. Overall service was above average in most departments. I rebooked because nothing is perfect and amendments were offered.

I went to the hotel on Wednesday September 16th for my birthday on the 17th. I was warmly greeted at the the Front desk by Amiel. Who advised me that we had been upgraded which was a great surprise. I also requested that I get a room on the ground floor as I did not want to deal with the stairs and he quickly accommodated my request. My room was very lovely and gave me the right setting for my birthday. I found the service excellent and the workers were very helpful and friendly especially Marviet aka Ms Hanover one of the servers at the Breakfast and Lunch buffet. She was caring and very pleasant and made us feel very special when she served us. The supervisor came and checked on us each time ensuring we were well cared for, she also got the ladies to sing Happy Birthday for me at lunch time and gave me a nice slice of cheese cake. The food was generally very good. I loved the variety and the choices they gave us eventhough they were reduced because of the effects of COVID_19 on their bookings. I also used the Spa service which was just great, Tamara the young lady who did my massage was top notch. I felt very relaxed afterwards. I also enjoyed the activities on the beach and of course Bingo with Jason and Ann-marie who took the time to sit and chat with us about the hotel activities. I was really impressed with how the staff all wore their masks and everyone ensured that we followed protocol regarding COID-19 procedures I did not feel at risk. I really want to thank the staff for making my birthday a very special one for me with great memories despite having to deal with COVID-19.
