Great hotel Don’t expect luxury but given the price point you know this already The rooms are small but functional with everything you need for your stay including a great coffee machine that’s topped up daily. Breakfast is well beyond what I was expecting and had cereals, meats, yoghurts, breads, cheeses, sausages, eggs and probably much more! Plus more really good coffee! Located 5 minutes walk to Bayard ski rental, and an additional 1 minute to the Gornergrat railway taking you up onto the slopes From the hotel, you can be on the train in under 10 minutes. Staff are really helpful and allowed us to keep our bags there on the last day even though we’d checked out. There’s a quick lift to all floors. I would highly recommend the hotel if your plans are to ski all day, go out on an evening and use it as a place to sleep. Would certainly return

I was very happy with interlaken youth hostel and decided to book zermatt youth hostel. Free Good Breakfast, although a toaster would have been nice but they have good coffee machine and good collections of tea bags. Clean property and good view of Matterhorn from dining area! The property did not mention that the bus do not go anymore to 'luchre' stoppage. The property is quite high up in the mountain. The bus left me a place way below to the stoppage. so it was very hard to take luggage up to the property. Also, the distance between Luchre bus stop and the property is also bit long. considering the steepness. Second thing, the property does not have lift! It was really really hard to go up to 3rd floor with luggage. For me, a kind romanian staff helped me to take the suitcase to the 3rd floor. I also find the room (most probably 138 or 134) that I had been given at the very last corner of the corridor, which is fine. but opposite to that room, there is another property whose bedroom or lounge room facing my room, The room does not have curtain. it was very uncomfortable. Interlaken youth hostel has the curtain. not all the room needs curtain, but some room facing other properties, I strongly recommend this small addition. when I mentioned that to the lady, she said, go to a hotel, this is hostel. I replied, Interlaken has curtain. she did not reply. while leaving, the lady staff was very rude and said no one can help you to get the suitcase down. One gentleman was kind and helped me. This property is good. unfortunately, it is not possible perhaps to add lift or change location. but they can add curtain for sure.

Our family of 4 was very pleased with our stay at Hotel Alphubel in early May 2023. Our hosts, Werner, and his lovely sister, were so pleasant and helpful. We arrived in the late afternoon and Werner suggested we make a reservation at a local restaurant for fondue (which was fabulous!). The room for 4 was clean and comfortable. It isn’t a super fancy establishment, but this wonderful family-owned hotel was conveniently located, quiet and served a delicious breakfast each morning which we appreciated before long days visiting Zermatt. Thank you again, Werner, for making our stay perfectly delightful!

My wife have grown quite fond of mountaintop lodgings for our ski holidays and they don’t come much more emblematic than 3100 Kulmhotel Gornergrat. Perched atop a peak facing the iconic Matterhorn, it exemplifies the panoramic views and towering location that we adore. Make no mistake, despite my issues raised below, this is a truly magical property. But it isn’t cheap and it comes with a number of limitations that you should be aware of marooned in the middle of nowhere. • COMFORTABLE ROOMS WITH STUNNING VIEWS – Especially the Matterhorn view rooms where the image of this iconic promontory fills your window. • NICELY PRESENTED FOOD – Not quite gourmet, but a clever effort to dress it up with alluring ingredients and garnishes. But the food is tasty and the portions are ample. HINT - GETTING THERE IS VERY COMPLICATED – Do not just put the hotel in your satnav as it will not be able to help you and you will hit lot of problems. Here is a step-by-step guide to getting there: • AVOID THE CAR-TRAIN: The satnavs will give you the fastest route that takes you on a route where you load your car onto a train to be transported through a shortcut tunnel, BUT that train runs very irregularly. So you end of up waiting an hour for a train that saves you 30 minutes of driving time. • GO TO TASCH, SWITZERLAND: Tasch is where you park your car. In fact, I think that the town’s sole purpose in life is to be a giant parking lot for Zermatt. You see Zermatt itself is CAR FREE. So you have to park in Tasch and take a 12 minute shuttle train into Zermatt. I recommend the underground parking lot just to the left of the train station (facing it) which had reasonable prices (12 euros/day), plenty of spaces, but most importantly was the shortest walk to the station (very important when lugging luggage full of ski equipment). • RENT SKI GEAR AT BAYARD – Unlike most ski resorts, the ski rental shops are not obvious. We had to ask to find one. Several people recommended Bayard and they gave us great service. Most importantly, they are on the block adjacent to the train station again minimizing lugging distance. LIMITATIONS - It is a stunning, bucket-list worthy property, but its pricey rack-rates also command a bit of discernment… • OBSERVATORY NOT AVAILABLE – When you read about the place, one of the first things that gets mentioned is its observatory heritage which includes still operational telescopes available for public use. HOWEVER, the observatory is run by a separate company and viewings are only available by prior and separate arrangements. This situation could be better communicated and coordinated. • LOUNGE NOT AVAILABLE – Unfortunately, the hotel doesn’t yet have a common area lounge where you can relax and have drink. You can go down to the dining room and sit at one of the tables with the view of the Matterhorn, but nothing more comfortable. So it is either a table or your room. They are in the process of remodeling the facility and h

Convenient near by restaurant , shopping area, clean. But the room litter small. Can’t fixed my big Luaggue 😅 My room can saw the beautiful landscape

Fantastic location right next to the train station and very large modern room which very spacious and comfortable. Couch, armchair and table, large modern bathroom with large bath and underfloor heating, loads of storage space for clothes and cases, and a large balcony overlooking the mountains. Cannot hear trains with doors to balcony closed so a great night’s sleep. Breakfast was also very good. The bistro wasn’t open during our stay but there are plenty of options in Tasch and Zermatt and two lovely little local supermarkets across the road stocking all the main items.

That is the fantastic hotel in Zermatt; the service and facility are excellent, and the room has a good view of the mountain and Matterhorn. The price of the room is already included the swimming pool and gym and Sauna, that is the excellent price that gives you the service. I will book this hotel again.

We spent three nights and four days at this hotel. It is along the river that flows through Zermatt and a few streets away from the Main Street. Therefore quiet yet close to everything. It is a ten minute walk from the train station. The rooms are modern and very nice. There is a hot water kettle and a safe in the room. Breakfast is included and is very satisfactory. My suggestion is to spend the extra money and get a room with a view of the Matterhorn. It is amazing to go to sleep and wake up to this view. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. Excellent value for money. There is an elevator and this is not always the case. If you feel like it enjoy a glass of wine in the lounge — you have to pay for it but they have a nice collection. They also have arrangements with four restaurants in the area. We enjoyed staying at this property and strongly recommend it

I traveled with clutch and to the hotel is simply easy walk. Direct opposite the rail station and near all the restaurants and Coop. I used the pool and it’s so nice.The breakfast was wonderful (some FOC selection in menu and a good spread in buffet) and they provide afternoon tea too.

This is the 2nd hotel we have stayed in Switzerland and we stayed here for one night. The hotel is located about 5-7mins walk from Tasch train station and there are a few restaurants and a mini-supermarket around. The hotel's external view gives one a B&B impression but upon entering, it's a hotel setup! And I am not sure why the hotel receives such a poor rating which I felt it's decent and good. Our room is at 307 (corner room). First, the room though simple structure and layout is nice and cosy. Bed is comfortable and there's a balcony where you can enjoy nature, mountains, lakes and nice scenery over a cup of coffee (though it is a common walk link with all the rooms next door). The TV has many channels and there's a TV channel guide which is good or you will need to spend time in searching for the channels you like to watch. The toilet is nice and got bathtub. The restaurant is nice and cosy and the breakfast spread is satisfactory. Foods were nice too. Service staff were friendly. In terms of areas of improvement, do note that there's only one lift and a small one. So for all the members of our tourgroup to get into our rooms, if we want to take the lift with luggages, it will take a long time. So we only load our luggages in the lift while we walk up the winding stairs. For most of us, the walk is ok though a little inconveniced. And there's no kettle provided in the room and cannot cook even cup noodles for fear in triggering the fire alarm which will fetch a 500 euros fine! The boss, Mr Chon, was very friendly and hospitable. He greeted all of us and even served us. When we left the hotel, he even boarded our coach personally and bid us goodbye! (he even brought the two of us around the entire hotel ground, including the buidling next door that is under renovation in improving it's facilities like constructing the spa, game room etc) Overall, our stay here was satisfactory and pleasant though there are hits and misses but I dont think it deserves a 1 or 2-star rating. It deserves a solid 3-star rating as rightfully awarded to it.

We chose to stay in Tasch as we were travelling back to home in France from the UK and had a car full of suitcases. If we want to visit the Matterhorn again with less luggage then we would definitely stay in Zermatt. Saying that, we chose well with this hotel, being right next to the train station was perfect for our visit with 2 dogs. The staff were very helpful on arrival and provided advice on what to do and where to go. Unfortunately the spa area has been decommissioned but we didn't see this mentioned on the website which is a shame as we needed this after a day walking the Matterhorn. We booked the Alpine Style Deluxe room with balcony which was a good size, modern and the balcony was south facing so it was lovely to sit and soak up some rays. There was plenty of storage space and the bed was comfortable with decent quality pillows and duvet. The only comments are, it would be good to have a fridge in the room to keep water and dog food, the showerhead in our room needs securing as it kept falling off with pressure of water and there was a fine line between warm and scorching water in the shower. We were happy with our room and stay.

Sono stata parecchie volte a Leukerbad e ho soggiornato in molti hotel differenti. Questa volta ho prenotato una notte al Grichting con trattamento HB, ad una tariffa molto conveniente. Dopo aver vissuto l'esperienza posso comprendere come mai il prezzo fosse così apparentemente competitivo. La camera era nell'edificio separato (a cui si accede dalla strada, oppure da un sottopassaggio interno all'hotel). Ampia, pulitissima, rifornita di infusi, caffé e minibar a pagamento, ma decadente. Crepe nei muri, fori nelle piastrelle del bagno, parti in legno sbiadite, stanze per nulla insonorizzate, cassetta del wc rumorosa, ecc... La SpA sarebbe un vero gioiellino e sarebbe un piacere pagare qualche franco in più per usufruirne (attualmente l'uso è compreso nel prezzo della camera ed è disponibile 24/24h), se non fosse lasciata totalmente andare: ruggine ovunque, dai lettini alle parti metalliche di tubi e corrimano, scrostamenti vari del soffitto e dell'interno della piscina. Che peccato trascurare così tanto questo angolino! Colazione nella norma. Fin qui diciamo che vantaggi e svantaggi potevano compensarsi, rendendo accettabile il soggiorno nella struttura. Tuttavia il peggio è arrivato all'ora di cena: prima di prenotare ho verificato tramite Bot se prevedessero menu vegetariani e vegani. Avuta questa conferma ho riservato il trattamento HB per 1 vegetariano e 1 vegano, specificando la richiesta anche nella prenotazione. Arrivata all'hotel ho ricordato in momenti diversi a due diversi receptionist quali fossero le nostre esigenze alimentari e mi è stato confermato che la cucina era già stata avvertita. Quando mi sono seduta a tavola mi è invece stato detto che purtroppo il loro menu non prevede nessuna portata vegana. Ho segnalato che sicuramente dovevano essere al corrente della mia richiesta e la cameriera ha verificato, tornando dalla cucina e spiegandomi che potevo avere unicamente un'insalata come entrée e un piatto di verdure con riso in bianco come portata principale (per tutti il menu della mezza pensione prevede unicamente due piatti). Nessun'altra possibilità! L'insalata verde è arrivata, seguita poi da un piatto contenente un mix di vegetali (champignon e credo zucchine e taccole) e un dischetto di circa 20 grammi di riso bollito (20 grammi letteralmente, non per modo di dire!) freddo, duro, tutto incollato insieme. Ho segnalato direttamente alla cameriera che ci ha seguiti quella sera, in modo discreto per non disturbare gli altri ospiti in sala, la mia insoddisfazione per una cena che era parzialmente non commestibile, non adeguata e non poteva ritenersi un pasto bilanciato (anzi, in realtà non poteva nemmeno essere ritenuta un pasto! Verdura fredda e verdura calda. Stop. Fine). La signora al tavolo si è detta dispiaciuta e ha affermato che avrebbe senz'altro avvisato la reception del mio disappunto. Al mio compagno, vegetariano, è andata leggermente meglio perchè nella carta erano presenti 3 o 4 pietanze vegetariane fra cui scegliere.

The property is well located within the beautiful village of Leukerbad. Great pool and surroundings, perfect for hiking and relaxing, close to the thermal baths and to all facilities & restaurants in the town. The room was clean, comfortable, and while the bathroom was VERY small, it had all the necessary facilities and was clean. If you’re in Leukerbad to enjoy hiking, bathing, tanning, or simply hanging by the pool, it’s a perfect hotel. If you’re looking for a place with charming and forthcoming 4-star service, then you can forget this place without a second thought. My daughter has Crohn’s disease and cannot eat solid food. We had reserved a family room for 4 including breakfast. Upon arrival we asked if we could remove one BF from the bill, as my daughter wouldn’t have any: That wasn’t possible. We asked if we could benefit from any alternative offer (even a drinks voucher for the bar would have been nice). We were told “No, can’t do anything, my hands are tied!” – by whom I wonder? You have to book the restaurant for the evening. Having had a tiring drive with 2 young kids, we pre-booked the table and ordered the food for 7pm, we arrived at 7pm, the place was nearly empty, the food arrived at 8pm… my kids were already waning. The food was mediocre at best (even in Switzerland I’m not used to pay 130 Fr. for tiny portions of deep-frozen food). At 9pm we asked for the bill, and were told “You have to wait”. So we decided to leave and put our kids to bed instead. Even with the tired kids in tow, the waiter shouted after us “can’t you just wait 10 minutes?”… by now the place was totally empty… why? Spending some time at the pool with wet hair, my daughter asked if she could have more conditioner. We were told “No, only 1 per person per stay”… of those tiny tiny bottles… why? At least as we checked-out, the annoyed front office employee didn’t ask us if we enjoyed our stay (smart move there). And as we left the hotel for the last time before driving back home, an employee we had never seen before left us with these beautiful last words: “THAT’S THE DOOR!” (I’m not kidding)… Now, I understand the hospitality sector is in crisis because of a lack of schooled personal, but the lack of charm of the hotel staff (apart from a young lady at breakfast and a friendly young man in the restaurant) was almost comical.

Sad to share that what used to be a proud, classic 5-star Swiss hotel experience now is reduced to an overpriced mediocre experience, at best. Through my stays during the past 15 years, I have witnessed a hotel fading to become a worn-down average 3-star hotel without proper staffing or attentive service, but fighting to stay in the five star range – at least when it comes to pricing. How about a 40$ simple gin & tonic in the bar? After you had to walk over to the front desk so they could try to locate a grumpy bartender. Twice! Breakfast was slow, even we were the two only guests. Ordered fried eggs and it took at least 15 mins for them to produce it. Coffee was semi-cold all three mornings. In general, the staff has severe problems communicating in English, so expect confusion and misunderstandings. If you are sensitive to mold, well, you should definitely choose another hotel. The pictures speaks for itself, this is next to the bed. In general, the lack of maintenance of the hotel is very visible. If you try the outdoor pool, look out for screws in the deck which have popped out everywhere. The so-called Turkish sauna barely broke out a sweat, and the ceiling was black of mold. Leukerbad is quite hilly, so dragging your luggage around is not ideal. We therefore ordered transport by the hotel minivan at 8:30 to the bus station the day before departure, to make our connection for journey back home. The transport was confirmed twice by the front desk. Checked out at 8:15 and sat down waiting for the transport, nobody came at agreed time (come on, this is Switzerland, right?), minutes went by, our bus was departing soon, went to ask the front desk, she was sorry, but the portier had took off with the van filled with luggage for a group that was departing later. No one could not drive us. She had no other suggestion, so instead of calling a taxi or try to help us in another way, she just continued doing nothing and yelled it was not her fault. We ended up running through the town with our bags and made our connection in less than a minute. A good advice; pick another hotel in otherwise amazing Leukerbad. Les Sources Des Alpes can no longer defend their stars – neither price. A 3-star at best.

Als Paar geniessten wir drei Nächte im Hotel Dala. Es ist uns folgendes aufgefallen: sehr nettes Personal, erstklassiges Frühstück mit Saisonalen Früchten und Käse vom Dorf, Liebevolle Betreuung an Ort, ruhig geschlafen und sofort löslichen Kaffee im Zimmer. Wir können das Hotel weiter empfehlen. Es hat von unserer Seite her an nichts gefehlt, wir kommen gerne wieder wenn wir in der Nähe sind. Die Gastgeberin hat sich für jeden einzelnen Gast Zeit genommen und das Gespräch geführt, sie konnte uns Empfehlungen angegeben die wir besuchen können. Auf diesem weg möchten wir uns für diese tolle, freundliche und sympathische Gastgeberin bedanken und wünschen ihr weiterhin gute Geschäfte.

A notre arrivée on a été rappelé à l'ordre que nous devions payer un parking + ou - cher selon ou on laisse la voiture ! La piscine n'invite pas à la baignade, l'eau y est verte et nauséabonde ! nous avons renoncé au SPA ( il fallait payer en +) et que dire des chambres....elles sont grandes et spacieuses, mais: moquette tachée, bugs écrasés sur les murs, le sol de la terrasse éventré. La literie est bonne, mais il a fallu du temps pour se doucher, il n'y a aucune pression dans la douche...point très positif, le petit déjeuner est très frai bon et varié Il faudraitpas grand chose a cet hôtel pour qu'il redevienne un bel hôtel, mais c'est vraiment l'Overlook hôtel de Shinning....
