A stroke of bad luck left us stranded in Sendai when the JR East Shinkansen network was suspended. As the night wore on with no trains in sight, we grew anxious. By 11:30 p.m., we decided to book a hotel for the night. Thankfully, the hotel turned out to be a pleasant surprise — newly and tastefully renovated, cosy, and functional. The highlight was the lounge, which offered complimentary beverages and a play area for kids — an unexpected but welcome touch. Like most hotels in Japan, it provided complimentary toiletries, but this one went a step further with facial masks and bath salts — a thoughtful touch that made the stay even more relaxing.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were warm, attentive, and always ready to help, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment I arrived. My room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with all the essentials provided. The facilities were impressive, especially the dining area and overall cleanliness throughout the property. Location was convenient, making it easy to explore nearby attractions and access transportation. Breakfast offered a good variety and everything tasted fresh. Overall, the hotel delivered great value for money, and I truly enjoyed my time here. I would happily return and highly recommend it to others.
This was my third stay at The Westin Sendai, and I continue to love both the hardware and the service. The rooms are beautifully designed, and the two restaurants are truly excellent — always one of the highlights of my trip.
However, during this visit, the lady at the lobby reception was not as helpful as expected. While she remained polite, her attitude felt a bit less sincere compared to my past experiences. That was the only small disappointment in an otherwise wonderful stay.
Sendai has become my second favorite city in Japan. It offers the perfect blend of chill and urban vibes — not as crowded as Tokyo, Osaka, or Sapporo, yet equally lively and enjoyable.
This capsule hotel is located right along the main business street, making it very convenient for dining and shopping. There’s even an Ichiran Ramen just next door, and a famous Taiyaki shop only a 2–3 minute walk away. Sendai Station is about a 10-minute walk from the property.
However, one downside is the confusing luggage policy. The hotel rules state that large luggage cannot be brought into the sleeping area, so I rented a chain lock (JPY 100) to secure my suitcase in the hallway. Despite this, many guests still brought their bags inside, so the rule seemed inconsistently enforced. For guests like me who followed the policy, it was a bit inconvenient since my capsule was quite far from the hallway and it was troublesome to retrieve my belongings each time.
GGuest UserOur 8-day stay at Hotel Metropolitan Sendai East was exceptional from start to finish. We booked a Superior Double room, and it felt surprisingly spacious and comfortable—especially for an extended stay.
If I had to sum up this hotel in one word, it would be convenience. Its location directly within Sendai Station makes getting around effortless. Trains, buses, and a wide variety of dining options are all just steps away, which made exploring the area incredibly easy.
The breakfast selection was generous and satisfying, offering plenty of options to start the day well. What truly stood out, however, was the customer service—consistently attentive, professional, and welcoming throughout our stay.
We would absolutely choose to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sendai.

GGuest UserThe hotel was renovated last year, and the rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well-lit, with enough room for two large suitcases.
There's a self-service refreshment area (note the opening hours) that offers coffee, soft drinks, and surprisingly, nostalgic snacks and ice cream.
Basic toiletries and skincare products are available for guests to take freely, and they even thoughtfully provide daily essentials for babies and children.
In summary, aside from the hotel's location being a bit far from the JR station (about a 10-minute walk), there are no other drawbacks. There's a convenience store near the hotel; just head out towards the parking lot and cross one road.
Jjie125This hotel is supposedly the best in Sendai, so when I visited, I booked two nights to experience it. It's a bit far from Sendai Station, which isn't ideal if you're lugging luggage. We ended up taking a taxi from the station. Since we arrived before check-in, we were able to store our bags on the first floor. Later, after we checked in, a staff member brought them directly to our room. My room type offered a nice view, with a distant glimpse of the Great Kannon statue. The room itself was spacious, but it definitely felt old; many facilities are in need of repair and updating.
Cchoy yuNo return to Japan in three years!
The most anticipated trip this trip is Li's Zhuquanzhuang Hot Spring Hotel will stay for 2 nights! On that day 2022-10-21 My wife and I were driving to the King of Tibet at 11 am in Shinjuku, Tokyo. The most ideal time for default is four and a half hours! At 6 pm, I arrived first! As soon as I arrived, the staff of Zhuquanzhuang used super kind attitude to condolences! After explaining, they dry the room without saying anything! Check-in at the extreme speed! After finishing, we will have a beautiful dinner for us! Fear that I will starve to death! After eating, soak up a hot spring and all the troubles are drying! On the second day! My wife and I are going to the nearby attractions to scare down the cable car to scare the maple leaves! About the hotel 6:30 meal! I know that the car is slower than before! Another half hour later, return to the hotel first! They again use their kind attitude to condolences! So they have used a kind of attitude to care about the guests for two consecutive days! Prove that the quality of the hotel service is not vegetarian! I really feel that they are waiting for their family to come back to eat! No matter the restaurant, open air style and room privacy is extremely high! Their service attitude is better than I thought! Looking forward to coming back next time ⋯!
I am not a god of food so I did not write food review!
To the hotel tips: the first time to be Boding outdoor wind Lu!
WWengThe hotel by the sea, there is a height standard left by the tsunami on the outer wall, a rare hotel, there is a century-old clock after the restoration. Free drinks on the first floor! Service attitude is also very good. There are fewer restaurants around. I will definitely go there next time. I like the girl at the front desk very beautiful and the attitude is very good!
