Hotel Dengan Gym di Coimbra District, Portugal

A superb historic property under private management and ownership - actually, in the ownership of the same family for over 400 years altho’ now a member of the Small Luxury Hotels marketing system affiliated with Hilton. The property in its adjoining Gardens are a destination in themselves, along with the nearby (400m) Santa Clara monastery. They may be sufficient for some visitors, but it’s about a 15 minute walk to the centre of Coimbra and it’s main historical area. Arthur Wellesley - aka Viscount Wellington - was a visitor during his Iberian campaign, so you’re in good company.  Staff are superb and obviously hand picked by the owner. The receptionist when I arrived (Evening of Sunday 16 February) was simply the best I’ve ever experienced, Singapore, Bangkok and Tokyo included.  Genuinely fascinating to talk to about the history of the building and some of the previous guests (famous but  ‘passed’ celebrities so no confidence is breached).  Best to stay in the rooms in the main building if possible, if tales of the previous occupant intrigue. Although the spa Is impressive – up to best Thai standards - and I guess the adjoining spa rooms may be equally good. Overall, an absolute gem that far exceeded expectations.

The hotel is cozy and familiy's friendly, the reception desk was friendly and welcoming, Fatima at the reception desk was great. The breakfast is intercontinental buffet and had a variety of options besides great taste, Dinner is A LA carte menu and the chef is exceptional. We didn't use the outdoor pool since it's so cold but the Spa and the indoor pool was pretty nice، the Jacuzzi was out of order. Overall the location and services was pretty much great definitely deserves another visit.

Actually the room without maintenance well. And the room can’t open the curtain coz people can see through to my room if I open. So we changed the room without jacaccui , but we found the window door almost fall down and so many mosquitoes came to my room from the garden . So I closed and found the way to out all mosquitoes. Also the room was too dark even turned on all the lights, aircon not working. So many problems. So we decided to leave early morning after breakfast. Not comfortable

Great place to stay for a couple of days, beach, plenty of Resturants. Casino all steps away from the front door. The hotel was calm, clean with extremely friendly staff. The breakfast had loads of goodies. Would not hesitate to stay again or tell a friend.

While the soundproofing was a bit lacking, I was generally satisfied. The front desk staff were friendly and proficient in English, which was a plus. However, be careful as water tends to splash out of the shower stall during a shower (the drainage isn't great). I regret not using the pool facilities, as the water was surprisingly clean. There's a spacious paid parking area with electric vehicle charging available.

Hotel em frente à praia, com excelente pequeno-almoço, staff super simpático e profissional, piscina, sauna, hidromassagem e ginásio. O almoço no restaurante do hotel estava top. A seleção dos vinhos é cuidada e o vinho branco seleção da Santa Vitória é bastante agradável. Excelente relação qualidade preço.

very well located hotel, in front of the beach and close to all relevant tourist attractions, as well as entertainment, shops, bars and restaurants. Service and concern for guests is a constant. Hotel with great facilities, spacious rooms, well decorated common areas in a very cozy atmosphere. Heated pool on the top floor allows a stunning view over the beach and the ocean at the rhythm of the sunset.

The parking lot outside the hotel says that the hotel is dedicated, but the hotel said that they don't know what the situation is. It is recommended to park in the parking lot downstairs. There is no place to eat nearby. The facilities are generally old.

Good service, clean, comfortable bed and pillows Good environment, swimming pool, gym, reading room and other facilities are complete, breakfast is OK, the room is small.

The room was very small for the number of people. We could not use the lotion. The air conditioning of the very noisy room. No extra coats and covers. It was a long waiting time in the lift. Infrastructure problems in the walls of the corridors. Not corresponding to a 4-star hotel as indicated. Experience to not repeat.
