Having a balcony in the dorm room was unexpected and very welcome. The location is good in that you are not far from the centre of Munich or the station, but you are also only one street away from a mass of strip clubs. The bar is advertised as open until 2am, but actually closes at 10pm - if it opens at all (it didn't for the majority of my stay), instead there is a vending machine that only accepts coins. Breakfast is great value for money though! Overall, somewhat mixed, but good for the price.

The reason I chose this hostel is its affordable price (8 beds femare room - in one big room), located close to Nürnberg Hbf (only 1 stop using U-Bahn), and the bunk bed has a curtain (the most important thing, since it gives you privacy). The shared bathroom is clean and has two showers and two toilets. This hostel also (surprisingly) has a well equipped kitchen with microwave and refrigerator. You can cook by yourself and eat your food in its nice kitchen (there are some chairs and tables with sockets). I will definitely stay in this hostel again if I come to Nürnberg.

The staff were very cold and unhelpful, and the service was passive. The room facilities were old and outdated, and it was hard to find my way around. There weren't many amenities in the room, and there was no air conditioning. It's equivalent to a room under 150 RMB in China.

Unfortunately, the room (404) had a very intense mothball/naphthalene smell. But like VERY INTENSE. It was noticeable even before entering and was strong enough that all of my belongings absorbed the odor. It was quite unbearable at times and significantly affected the overall experience. I felt bad going out because I had the perception I smelled of naphthalene all the time. Aside from that, the hostel itself is beautiful, modern, and very clean, with great storage and well-maintained facilities. The common areas are really cool and thoughtfully designed, and although the kitchen is small, it’s perfectly functional. I hope management looks into the ventilation or cleaning products used, because otherwise this would be a very enjoyable place to stay.

Service: The front desk staff were very friendly and spoke excellent English, making communication a breeze. Facilities: The building has two elevators, which was really convenient for carrying luggage. The soundproofing on the room windows was great; even with lots of people watching the World Cup outside, it was quiet once the windows were closed. Environment: It's located in a large park-like area, which seems to be a business park with many young professionals. There are plenty of snack stalls and fast-food options, making it very convenient. It's easy to find from the East Railway Station; just take the overhead bridge and follow your navigation. Hygiene: Overall, it was very clean. The only minor issue was that the en-suite bathroom tended to accumulate a bit of water, and there was a raised step, but it wasn't a big deal. The cleaning staff were very diligent and cleaned the room thoroughly every day.

Authentic and rustic on the outside, my room had been refurbished with up to date bathroom fixtures and shower, flooring, paint and furniture. Able to sleep 2 adults, 1 teen and 2 small kids. The Gruner Hof is a short walk across the Isar to Freising's old town and monastery (must see). Lots of options for public transportation; bus, train, taxi. Quaintness factors: 2nd story rooms have the sloping roof and ceiling. I'm tall. Took me a week to stop bumping into it. Across the street is a church/school with a bell tower that chimes the time from 7am to 10pm; you'll always know the time but doesn't bother at night. Good sidewalks everywhere.

comfy stay and very very good location just across the street from the bus & train station. could conveniently walk opp for my flix bus! bed, room & toilet were generally clean!

We like the welcome drinks and good atmosphere for youth. There is lift to every floor including street level to ground floor. The 4You Hostel is behind us towards the right. There is bicycle rental nearby which we may use if it was not snowing. Usual hostel with shared bathroom. We had good warm shower.

Upon arrival no one answered the door on either side of the street. We had no way to call the number posted. Fortunately kind guests helped to call as they were coming out the door and directed us to our room. No contact with hosts until breakfast the next morning. Breakfast was excellent.

Familiäre Atmosphäre, sehr freundliche Gastgeber. Essen hat sehr gut geschmeckt, sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Das relativ große Zimmer ist modern, schön eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Motorräder konnten in einer Garage direkt am Haus abgestellt werden.
