Prima overnachtingshotel op 7 minuten lopen (met koffers) van de luchthaven. We hadden kamer 416 helemaal bovenin in de hoek met ruim balkon en uitzicht op de luchthaven. Volgens de receptionist een van de beste kamers van het hotel. Op de 4e verdieping dus. Deze verdieping is er later opgebouwd en de lift gaat niet verder dan de 3e verdieping. Met je koffers dus de trap om de laatste verdieping te bereiken. De kamer was gemiddeld en schoon. Omdat het een overnachtingshotel is, is het ook een komen en gaan van mensen. De hele nacht door en dat hoor je wel. Nadeel is dat je er niet kunt dineren en het ontbijt is pas vanaf 7 uur open. De beste optie voor diner is het Best Western hotel, wat overigens ook een aanrader is. En achteraf hadden we de € 25 extra kosten voor een hotelkamer graag bij het Best Western gezeten. Maar dat is achteraf. Is het een aanrader…? Ja toch wel.

We were given a family room with a sea view, very quiet and spacious with a very large comfortable bed. Only thing which could have been improved was the size of the bath. Bedroom and bathroom were kept clean,tidy and topped up daily by Lindt. Breakfast was not an english style but there was plenty to choose and freshly cooked eggs to order. Every day we were given a plate of freshly cut fruit and I had a large glass of fresh orange juice. There are free loungers, parasols and towels on the beach, around the pool and in the spa. All staff were friendly and very helpful. We stayed just before the start of the summer season and it was very tranquil and relaxing.

The hotel was great. Close to the aiport, superb pool and restaurant. Amazing room, the staff were very helpful and even transferred me for my early flight. Having worked in the hospitality industry for 6 years I was immensely impressed by the professionalism and upgrade they offered me. I wish I had a chance to stay with them longer. 10/10 would recommend, well worth it!

We’ve been here only for4nights but what the experience we got,amazing friendly stuff, they tried helped us out even with a bottleopener when we needed it.Rooms’re very cleaned and were tidied every day and with aircon! Super10/10 you have to try mussels, they were the best in my life , a range of food was incredible cool, all was fresh and tasty !

The area is very nice, the beach is good the staff is very kind. The room is very nicely soundproofed, which is very good with smaller children (ín the evening the beach is noisy). There is a playground on the beach as well. there are tons of good rated restaurants nearby as well. Maybe the only negative that the baby ceib was a littke bit broken.
Best Western Premier Ark Hotel

As requested by receptionists I post the review- unfortunately it cannot be positive. We arrived on Thursday afternoon (SEP 8 2022). First of all we were disappointed by impolite service in the restaurant that we used twice- for the lunch and for the dinner. During the lunch we were served by the waitress (black pony-tailed hair) who was impolite, impatient and angry. She was confusing the price of house wine several times- once she was saying the price of 800 LEK, shortly after the price increased to 8000 LEK, then 800 LEK again and suddenly she showed her disapproval that we dare to ask of the price of house wine as ”it is so cheap as 80 EUR”. Maybe 80 EUR for the house wine is cheap for the well-paid waitress but we do not consider it to be adequate price. During the evening we were lucky not to be served by Her. Restaurant manager came, took the order and professionally delivered pastas and drinks we ordered. Then nightmare started again as angry, stressed and tired (the same) waitress came and stated that ”she does not know if / and what kind of/dessert is left and we can go to the other bar and ask them”. Seriously? You have desserts in the menu and when I ordered panna cotta and tiramisu I must go to different place to ask it it is still available? This is not a treatment I would expect in a cheap meat shop, not in an aspiring 4 star hotel. This situation forced me to write the review. Hotel itself is pathetic with urgent need of maintanence- in our room nr 101 shower hand holder was falling apart whenever I was trying to move it, fridge did not produce any cold, water did not drain from the bidet and shower gel was so small that was not enogh to take even one shower, for one person. Plenty of insects in the outside pool, water needs impovement too. There is plenty cheaper hotels literally a few steps away where price- quality ratio will be much more honest. And perhaps their staff will not treat the guests as intruders who dare to ask for the price of ”house wine that is that cheap as 80 EUR”. Atmosphere in Best Western Ark at Rinas Airport is dense and the staff treats the guests condescendingly. There are jumping around the people who come for a dinner well-dressed (pretending to be much posh than they really are) serving them free shots whereas ignoring the people who come in casual clothes and telling to go for the desserts elsewhere. It is really strange that from all the guests ordering from the same menu only some get special treatment, even free shots and the others are not even served properly. The staff should definitely improve English. For us Best Western proved again that they are below standards or their much better competitors.

My stay at the Movenpick Durres Hotel had its highs and lows: Staff Recommendation: Leda stood out as an exemplary staff member. Her kindness, attentiveness, and professionalism made a significant positive impact on my stay. She handled every request with a smile and efficiency, embodying the hospitality one expects from a five-star establishment. Check-in / Reception: The check-in process was smooth and efficient, with the reception staff were lovely and extending a warm welcome. Sofa Bed: I had a late flight, and upon arrival, the room was missing pillows and linen for the sofa bed. Although this was swiftly rectified, it should have been set up prior to my arrival. Breakfast: The breakfast lacked variety. For a family staying two weeks, the same food day after day becomes quite boring. A five-star hotel should offer more diverse options. Towels: The quality and availability of towels were disappointing. The towels were more like thin throws, unsuitable for drying off or using at the beach or pool. Also being told towards the end of our stay that there is a limit on the number of towels we can take based on occupancy is unacceptable. In a five star hotel, guests should have ample access to fresh towels without restriction. One towel per person is insufficient for a full day at the beach or pool, especially with children. Beach Beds: The beach beds were comfortable but very dirty, with stains on many of them. This is not up to the standards of a five-star hotel. In other high-end hotels, beach beds are cleaned and washed down every evening, and the beach is maintained without debris. One of the most frustrating aspects was that every morning the onsite team would ”save & chain” multiple front-view sea beds for ”VIPs of the hotel,” which is unacceptable. Most of these chairs remain unused for the whole day. Unless you are present at the beach, you should not be able to hold a spot for others just in case they arrive. Many guests are families who want to be able to see their children playing in front of the beach. Who classifies hotel staff as a higher priority than other paying guests? Dinner Menu: The dinner menu has not changed since last year. We stayed here last year for a few days, and the menu is exactly the same, with no changes. When staying for weeks, the repetitive food is not ideal. Hotel Room Towels and Water: We were three people in one room, and for the beginning of the stay yet we were only given two towels, and replenished water was only provided for two. If we are paying for a suite for three, then provisions should be made accordingly. Ping Pong Table: The ping pong table was a nice touch. However, there was only one ball, and it went missing. A five-star hotel should have replacements on hand and not rely on one ball for all guests. Style. Extraordinary Albergo Diffuso (scattered hotel). The first in Albania Setting. Time travel within confines of Kruja Castle Explore. Mountain town Kruje. Hiking in the area. Museum on site to learn all about Albania’s legends Rooms. Was in a upstairs room, lovely balcony with views of the gorgeous castle. Room had a mini fridge so you can store cold drinks. @ the hotel. Parking is near bazaar outside castle. I had no idea where to park and had luggage with me but called and the owner Olsi Pengili came out to help me. Skipping checkin formalities was a relief after the long trip from Hong Kong to Albania. Sunset right in front of the hotel was magical and the whole Albergo Diffuso project Olsi is going through to restore and preserve this area is exceptional. The day I left, I had a punctured tire and the Hertz car did not have a spare, Olsi saved the day, a car mechanic showed up and fixed my tire on the spot! Food & drinks. No restaurant yet but plenty nearby. Originally wanted to go to Restorant Bardhi but ended up at Kroi, where they have fantastic staff, including the one that alerted me to my tire. Prices. Loved our 5 day stay at the Epidamn. The hotel used to be the French embassy and its decor inside reflects this. The staff make this wonderful boutique hotel amazing. Everyone is super friendly, speaks great English, works super hard and will go the extra mile to help you out. The girls on reception often booked restaurants for us by calling them. Special shout out to the ladies that cleaned our room. Amazingly spotless and tidy. Thanks to Albi in the restaurant for looking after us at breakfasts, lunch and dinner. He was a true professional. He knew about drinks, the food, and worked so fast, efficient but with a personal touch. He wouldn’t be out of place in a 5* restaurant in London. Antonella for helping us park the car when we arrived jet lagged having been awake since 3am. She was very patient with us and was a great help. She also told another restaurant to give us a good table and they did! Also for getting our cases to the 5th floor upon arrival. The bed was super comfortable. The breakfasts are amazing. Especially the 2 eggs with avocados and sausages. Also the pancakes. Dinner / lunch was fantastic - we eat there a lot over the 5 days cause we loved it so much. Parking around the back is convenient.
