Excellent stay I was there with my daughter who was running the Great North Run The staff were fantastic Alana,Brian and Scott what can I say incredible members of staff they are a credit to the hotel.

Nice location and friendly staff. Room starts to show its age and the shower head water pressure is weak.

The hotel’s location is great, which only minute’s walk from central station. The service is fine and the room is big. However, the wall of the room is just like a ‘paper’, we can clearly hear the outside noise. It’s really noisy and the cleaning staff even works from early morning and really disturb us to sleep. Also, they just use the key to open our door without asking or checking if we are still in the room and sleep, which is only 9am. Besides, the bathroom’s water sound is so loud and almost influenced us for a whole night. Overall, it is a not recommended place to live if you want to have a quiet and safe sleeping environment.

We have stayed at this hotel twice and both times we were greeted by friendly staff both times we had no problems with the rooms food also in restaurant was nice no complaints either all in all our stay was made friendly.

The location of hotel is nearby the city centre so it is good for visitors. The breakfast was provided by inn was simple but it is very good for visitors to take away for travelling.

Lovely hotel very close to the train station. The swimming pool, jacuzzi and steam room were very good. All the facilities were clean and of high standard. We didn't have breakfast there so can't commenet on the food.

The location for Hampton by Hilton Newcastle is extremely convenient, just adjacent to the Nexus Central Station. The room are clean and supplied with adequate daily consumables such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, iron, iron board, electric water boiler, coffee, tea, etc. We had requested them to provide one more quilt to us and was attended to timely. Will consider to come again if required. Thanks.

Stayed in this hotel for a one night business trip stay over. If you’re looking for something with a little character this is a great place to stay . Central Newcastle , right next to the central train station and Metro entrance, a little bit of elegance. A lovely entrance foyer ( decorated with an amazing Christmas tree) with large chandeliers and helpful staff at check in. Finding my room was a bit of an adventure , but part of the charm of a historic building . My room was clean , quiet , mini fridge , kettle and tea/coffee , tv , surprisingly good bathroom and comfortable bed. I had a good English breakfast in the morning , and again the staff were lovely. I thought it was very good value , and I would stay again .

I stayed here with my wife before a 7am flight to Palma. We were greeted by friendly staff offering us each a warm welcome cookie, which was absolutely delicious. The room we had was spacious and spotlessly clean. There were tea and coffee facilities in the room and a huge TV. We had a view out to the runway from our room, which was nice. There are two breakfasts. 4:30 for people with early flights, consisting of cold items such as meat, cheese, bread, pastries, toast, cereals, fruit, fruit juice, coffee, tea, and yoghurt. The later breakfast at 6:30 is when the hot stuff comes out. We took the early breakfast and it was perfectly fine.

The staff were so welcoming and helpful. The rooms were clean and the facilities good. The breakfast was of a good quality. The only slight negative were the pillows (not comfortable for us) but overall a great place to stay.

Fantastically located on the quayside. The hotel has parking spaces but these are limited and therefore I parked at the car park opposite Gateshead college, around 6 mins walk away. Tbh it was cheaper to park there than the hotel car park and not that far. The hotel itself is nicely presented and the adjoined bar on the ground floor also has outdoor seating so that you may enjoy the views. The views itself are very decent from the room I was in. The room was very clean apart from a few handprint stains on the wall above the toilet in the bathroom. They looked more like old stains which probably wouldn’t come out unless it was painted again. Can’t comment on breakfast as I didn’t have any, but the hotel provided a complimentary coffee voucher from the bar and also some money off food from their restaurant. Overall a nice hotel and would stay again if ever in the area.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and also gave us a late checkout at no extra cost, which was a great help as we were driving back to London and needed all the rest we could get. We would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

Difficult to get to as roadworks and confusing one way system. Website advertised car park for overnight stay £5 but actual charge is £15. Room had large glass window but on ground floor overlooking a road. No possibility of fresh air so noisy air conditioning meant uncomfortable sleep. Mini bar with nothing in it. Cup of coffee £4.95. Staff appeared fairly indifferent as many tourists coming and going. Would not recommend as other nearby hotels offer free car parking and much easier to arrive at by road.

We stayed for 6 nights and whilst not cheap was excellent value for money. The rooms are large with a massive bed and sofa. Clean ensuite with an excellent shower. Front of house staff were friendly but Steph and Megan were exceptional. As were Ferida and Jimmy in the restaurant for breakfast. The breakfast was plentiful with lots of hot and cold choice. My only observation is that as the hot food is cooked then kept warm at the self-service station, items such as the fried eggs and tomatoes can dry out. However you can request fresh omelette (excellent) or poached eggs (excellent) or fresh mushrooms (excellent) or black pudding (more than excellent!!). We only ate one of our six evening meals in the restaurant as after a four hour drive, it was easier. The food was fine but the service from Josh was fabulous ... a credit to the hotel. My only criticism was when I read my bill having got home, there was an automatic 12.5% service charge for the meal. If you like Indian food I can certainly recommend Jashn restaurant which is only four minutes drive and was one of the best Indian meals I have ever had (I could also recommend Michelangelo for high quality Italian and only 8 minutes from the hotel). We had a fabulous break seeing family and friends and will certainly be back next year and would stay at the Delta again

Fantastic one night stay. Lovely warm greeting on arrival and guided to my top floor “penthouse” room. It had an incredible bathroom , comfy bed and decent facilities. No noise at all from inside or out. That final flight of stairs however you need to be careful on as steep small stairs. Breakfast next morning in the restaurant was buffet style for the continental options and made to order for hot options. Again service pleasant. Free parking. Ideal location if doing business on the Team Valley Trading Estate or if you are happy with a 20 minute taxi ride into Newcastle City Centre. Restaurant also has a long established good reputation. Price was insanely amazing value for money. Not words I use very often!!

GOOD points- Welcomed and checked in by a friendly, informative and pleasant lady, who had a sunny disposition and was juggling numerous roles including serving in bar, cheking in/out (Reception) and cooking/serving to name a few, this lady was approachable, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. BAD points- where to start .. 1. Rooms where outdated (which would have been fine if clean), extremely poorly maintained and certainly not cleaned daily (if at all). Behind bathroom door was a collection of dirt, dust amd bit of rubbish, cleaner cleary has not closed this door or cleaned behind it for a while! Skirting boards where thick with dirt, sheets had holes amd walls had some kind of fluid ”sprayed” all over them (i dread to think what but can't discount it may be human material) im saddened to write this but feel its necessary to inform and alert others. A lick of paint, bottle of bleach and a hoover would have made such a difference at very little cost to hotel. 2. To access rooms you need to venture through an unused dining room (well not used to dine in) its used as a storage facility and is unsightly, after this you make your way along what i can only describe as the ”staff corridor” past the greasy kitchen (door was wide open) and other areas that i would imagine elsewhere would be out of public view to a steepish staircase which lead to the rooms. 3 Corridor leading to rooms was dark and dingy in day light but worse at night as none of the lights apart from the illuminated ”Fire Exit” sign so we relied on torches from our phones to navigate safely. I did not expect the Ritz for the prive we paid for a family of 3 but i do expect the basics to be right which is cleanliness, cleanliness and cleanliness!! Surely has no-one learned from Covid-19?!? Cleanliness should always be a priority even even more so during a pandemic.

It was 40 quid a night for a twin so don't expect 5 star .. It was clean enough but wiffy in the toilet but for 1 night it done the job . Door lock was broken so had to improvise. Car park was dark and a bit spooky .. Staff were spot on tho

Very disappointed to find on checkout that the supposed £50 swipe they demanded of my card for health and safety was in fact to cover possible damage to the room and would not be refunded until my room was cleaned and inspected if they don’t trust me then I don’t trust them I refused to leave until room had been inspected and my refund authorised

We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Hotel, Sunderland. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious. We would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.

I originally booked in Expidia but couldn't find the host and the customerwas service just canceled the booking. I radomly booked this hotel and found out it's the only lucky thing that night. Friendly staff and comfotable room made us have a good rest.

I visited Sunderland to attend the Offshore Wind North East event and selected the Magnum as a reasonably priced hotel as the other hotels in town were charging ridiculous rates. The hotel is easy to find next to a derelict bar restaurant with plenty of onsite parking which was free for residents. The hotel looks like it was once a Premier Inn and at first glance looks jaded. Reception is a bit of a strange set up but the room was clean with a nice comfortable bed, tv, kettle etc and a tidy en suite with towels soap, shampoo etc. I never bothered with breakfast as it was nothing appealing. McDonalds is a short drive away. All in all, good value for money on an overnight stay but don’t expect the finer things.
