Hotel Pantai di Monterey County

Carmel is a beautiful town and the hotel is in the town centre, so the location is perfect. Room was a little dated, but reasonably clean. On the night we arrived to check in, staff was super friendly and helpful. He gave us detailed instructions regarding our room and parking, also local restaurants recommendations. His service was a 5 star! On the morning of departure, we vacated the room and checked out at 9am. We went for a stroll in the town, and returned after an hour. When we returned at 10am I asked the staff (not the friendly staff helped us check in) if I can use a restroom. Knowing we just checked out, the staff bluntly replied there isn’t public toilet in the hotel, so we’d better use the one in the local park. When we asked if we could go back to our room to use the toilet as it’s still early. His said the cleaners were already in. We then walked to our car which was next to our room, only to find the cleaners hadn’t been at all. Zero hospitality, disappointed.

The location was good, a short walk to Asilomar Beach which is a wonderful coastal trail with deer, bunnies & lots of birds in the early morning (before 7am). Was a bit disappointed that no bottled water was available in the room, and the lobby was locked before 8am and after 9pm when we wanted to get a drink. The coffee maker has water tasting of coffee, which is not ideal for non-coffee drinkers like myself. Toothbrushes not provided. My emails prior to the stay went unanswered. It was suggested that we pay $20 for laundry, and we had to ask multiple times where they either told us it was too early / too late and then to look for housekeeping to ask on our own. Night time is quiet but day time is noisy once housekeeping commences, and in the afternoon we had several calls and knocks on our door from housekeeping when we were trying to rest. They did not wait for us to answer but kept calling. I'm likely to choose a different place for future stays. There are several in this same location that are not as costly. I only chose this because the reviews seemed great.

Every employee was exceptional, helpful and friendly. The location is great except for getting in an out with a vehicle. The rooms were very nice, the bed was comfortable and clean. The two issues I had with the room were promptly corrected by maintenance (bad toilet flush and light bulb which was very loud). The restaurant was good, though the server was not exceptional. You feel welcome at every area within the hotel, every employee greets you as you pass. Only bad thing that I can say is that, I am allergic to dogs and could tell from the moment I slept in the room that there had been a dog or pet in the room prior. This lead to some discomfort that I was not prepared for. A bit of warning should be given to those with allergies so that other arrangements could be made.

Overall, it is a nice boutique hotel. I like the location being across a mall and nearby restaurants. Room size is relatively small but still reasonable. However, rooms facing the pool may experience loud music even after 9 PM. Occasionally, the front desk does not have any attendants or has only one person. I have had to wait in line to talk to the front desk several times. There is a $10 per day facility fee, which is not optional, but it’s not a part of the regular room charge.

Room was clean. Location is good, right in the center of downtown Marina. The front desk workers are very nice, don't be scared by the temporary lobby. Biggest complaint is that the bathroom window doesn't have curtains, which is especially a problem when workmen are right outside the window. The toilet also only has a weak flushing power, which can be unfortunate. Noise from workmen & cars on the main road can be quite loud. Breakfast is nothing special, but free fruit, granola bars, madeleines, & yogurt every day is always nice.

Good facilities, there are fridge and microwave in the room, quite helpful for travelers who want to est something simple for breakfast or dinner. The room service helps to keep the room clean. Downside is it can be noisy at night and can hear the outside when the people outside is loud.

Clean and comfortable rooms with free breakfast which we appreciated. The hotel is undergoing renovation which starts at 8am and lasts till 8pm, so if you intend to sleep in, it might be disruptive. The hotel is a 10min drive away from the central part of Monterey where the attractions are, but it wasn't a problem for us as we had a car. Parking on property was free and safe as well which we liked. Overall. Would recommend for 1-2 day stay

good breakfast, the pool is operating. ice machine working well and there is a restaurant with nice food directly next to the hotel. only downside is the plane noise at late night, but it did not affect my sleep during midnight so it was fine.

Zimmer war ordentlich. Der Whirlpool war leider nicht mehr in Betrieb. Das Hotel liegt direkt am pacific highway und an einem großen Einkaufszentrum.
