Stay for the history, not the service. The hotel has a unique history and is in an excellent location for sightseeing and shopping. First opened in 1917 with an eclectic modern European style as the Grand Hôtel de Pékin, the hotel was once the largest and best-equipped in Beijing. It has accommodated illustrious writers such as Rudyard Kipling, Noël Coward, and George Bernard Shaw, as well as royals like Princess Anne and Prince Albert of Monaco. It was also where Chairman Mao Zedong celebrated the inauguration of the People's Republic of China in 1949. For the most part, the service is poor, so go with low expectations. The pool is severely dated and unpleasant. The room was dated but reasonably spacious and comfortable. The Writer’s Bar was a highlight and has an extensive cocktail menu. However, be warned that the kitchen closes at 8:30 PM, so unfortunately, we missed out on dining in.

Absolute perfection! This luxury hotel has it all. The executive club access was a game-changer - the meals were exquisite and totally worth the upgrade. But it's not just about the food. The wellness facilities are out of this world. The sauna and steam room were perfect for unwinding after a long day. The pool is a serene oasis, and fitness enthusiasts will love the well-appointed gym with state-of-the-art equipment. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the exceptional service. Viki and her team went above and beyond in ways I never imagined. On our last day, we had to leave before regular breakfast hours. Without hesitation, they prepared a delicious breakfast to-go for us. That level of thoughtfulness is rare and deeply appreciated. The rooms are immaculate, the amenities are top-notch, but it's the staff that makes this place shine. They anticipated our every need and made us feel like royalty. If you're seeking a 5-star experience that exceeds all expectations, look no further. I'm already planning my next visit!

Great stay, would definitely recommend 💯 A tiny suggestion would be to add little things to your service such as explain where breakfast is (for those who have it included) as well as explain how to get to your room. I was a first time guest at your hotel and didn't specifically know where things were located (had no problem finding them). The elevators were easy enough to find, but explaining where it is should still be something the people at the front desk does and as a guest you should not have to ask where breakfast is, it should automatically be told to you upon check-in. It will smooth things over with guests. Other than that, everything was perfect and I was super satisfied with it 😊

The location is very good. 5 minutes from Tiananmen. The inner courtyard looks cozy and the buildings are hutong style. So overall quite nice and peaceful in contrast to other hotels. The room itself was nice and very clean. Only, the shower lacked proper warm water pressure but the sink didn't which was weird. I was offered a new room however but declined, since it was not that big of a deal. Also the breakfast was a bit lacking for my (european) taste but not terrible either. So overall quite nice and very friendly staff.

這是一個大的會議培訓中心。優點就是在五道口附近，去地鐵和購物的距離都可以接受。環境：院子很大，散步夠了。還有噴泉，綠化也可以。設施：房間設施更新過，是現代簡約風格。可以接受，有點招待所的感覺。內部還有康樂中心。保齡球可以去玩一下。衞生：乾淨，沒啥問題。服務：前台主動升級了房型，服務態度很好。退房也方便，不需要檢查房間。不需要交按金。早餐很豐盛，餐廳很大。因為是可以支撐大規模的會議，飯菜質量很贊。

Nothing beats a hospitable stay when you’re overseas. The hotel staff were so welcoming and friendly! They ensured you were well taken care of. The seating area on the bar side was super cosy and you got to have free coffee or tea to keep you warm. The hotel comes with free laundry service (+++) and a gym. If you fancy some entertainment, there’s a reading corner and a pool table. Whether you crave for outside food or in-house food, you have the flexibility to order a takeout or dine in at the restaurant on the first floor. What amazed me was the robot waiters! Amazing use of them!! The cleaning lady on the 6th floor did a fantastic job at keeping the room clean and tidy, and also super friendly! The hotel cares about the tiniest thing, even your low battery phone. I had a hassle-free access to a charging block. You literally feel like home! Thank you, Sanyuanqiao CitiGo. I will definitely come back!!

Terdapat ramai orang semasa Festival Musim Bunga, dan lokasi hotel sangat baik! Perkhidmatan ini sederhana. tiada apa yang istimewa! Kanak-kanak itu hampir tidak mencapai ketinggian 1.3 meter, dan sarapan pagi berharga 30 yuan sehari. Sarapan pagi agak teruk! Pada asasnya tiada apa untuk dimakan! Nasib baik, lokasi hotel sangat mudah! Hanya bersebelahan Jalan Wangfujing! (Tandas tersumbat sekali. Ini kali pertama saya sering menginap di hotel!)

Great location, the hotel is within Gubei Water Town. It is a short walk to Simatai great wall cable car and to the main area of the water town. Room was clean and comfortable except that it didn’t have air condition. Called the front desk and was told we’ll have to open the windows. We went in October so it was chill at night. Breakfast spread was amazing, there was so much options. It’s slightly pricey, but you pay for what you get.

I had an incredible experience at Sofitel Beijing. The rooms are spacious and clean, and I especially loved the spa-like bathtub. My children enjoyed soaking in it after a long day of exploring the streets of Beijing. The hotel is located in a great area with plenty of delicious food options nearby, and the train station is just a short walk away. Jackie at the front desk was extremely helpful and made our stay enjoyable. Thank you, Sofitel Beijing, for making our vacation so memorable!
