Great value for money in terms of what one gets vs what we've paid for -- trendy design hotel, nice, spacious room, there's even a fridge (usually for this price it's not provided), nice lobby, adequate size breakfast area with nice ambience, good service all round. Good design and layout in room with comfortable beds, adequate powerpoints and charging points. I like that the basin area has a huge top so I could put all my toiletries (I've got a lot) Thoughtful little stuff that I like : torchlight-like light by the beside and mugs with rubber base to insulate the heat. The toiletries in the bathroom smell really good too! Breakfast has good variety -- different types of porridge, some steam dumplings, sweet potatoes and corn, etc, rice, different dishes, there's a noodle station where you could customise your noodles to a certain extent, eggs, there's also bread and some sandwiches (ready-made and can DIY too), fruits, milk, juices, coffee, soya bean milk. I feel that the options available is not bad for a hotel of such a level. Actually my booking didn't include breakfast but was advised by the staff (when I check-in) to join the hotel's membership for RMB$99 so that I can get free breakfast. Hotel lobby also serves water and orange juice - another nice touch. Hotel staff's service was very good all round. Offered to help send my luggage up when they saw I had lots of luggage and was alone (some hotels at this level wouldn't volunteer to do so). Was able to answer most of my questions re nearby malls, where to get stuff like fruits, milk, nearby attraction. House-keeping staff was good too. A big thank you to the 2 reception staff that was on night shift on 6 Apr who had helped me out re a delivery mistake made by ******* platform. They even had to look at the CCTV of the hotel to find out what really happened and it took a long while. They were very nice and patient throughout the whole drama. They also helped me speak to the customer service of ******* to try to resolve the problem. When the problem still could not be resolved that night and I was without what I required urgently like the charging cable for my phone, they staff lent me the hotel's. They also gave me a small fruit pack and a pack of milk and bread (complimentary) as I needed it the following morning to bring outdoors for the day. In addition, they had briefed their colleagues on the next shift re my case so that they're aware and could help me should I require more help. Excellent service! Re location, it's a little far off though but it's really near to Beijing Garden Expo Park (北京园博园) and the accompanying Garden Museum (园博园博物馆) . It's a really nice park that's really huge -- that is made up of little models of different style of parks (from Jiangnan to Lingnan to Beijing) It has pavilions, water features and other Chinese architecture and landscaping that usually adorn such traditional parks. Great for photoshoot. Best of all, there're very few people there! There's a small little mall about 700-800m away from the hotel, that has mainly food there with many different types of value for money eateries, coffee, a supermarket and some other shops for daily necessities that local residents need. For a real mall, head to one call 长安天街, that's about 5km away - you can get there quite easily within 10-15mins by Didi (the online platform where you could get a cab I really enjoyed staying here cost it's almost like a resort - a little remote but so quiet and spacious and there's no crowd at all -- very relaxing! I would really want to come back here especially when i want to be in a place where I can feel really relaxed without breaking the bank.

The Chenshan Chinese Restaurant on the second floor offers a diverse range of dishes with excellent flavors, making the dining experience delightful. Well-Equipped and Practical Facilities: The meeting rooms on the second floor are fully equipped, ideal for business needs. The tea lounge on the first floor is spacious and comfortable, providing a convenient space for relaxation or small gatherings. April Attentive Service Details: The front desk staff are warm and efficient, the concierge team proactively assists with luggage, and the lobby staff greet guests politely when they meet—all reflecting professional dedication. A special thanks to Manager April, whose butler-style service during the stay was meticulous and caring, significantly enhancing the overall experience. In summary, both the hardware facilities and service quality are commendable, making this a very pleasant stay.

The PuXuan Hotel and Spa, is definitely ONE OF A KIND. It is truly a luxurious experience. We experienced several aspects of the hotel: room service, laundry, spa, and even special requests. Our journey started when we arrived to the hotel at 8am. The staff welcomed us warmly and offered tot ake care of our luggage while we explored Beijing and came back to do the proper check-in. We stayed at the parking lobby for a while, and they never tried to push us out. (In other hotels they do). Once we checked in, everything just kept improving. The rooms is simply magnificent, a “smart room” but in a really SMART. No over complicated controls, everything was user-friendly. I want to highlight the design of the room, and specially THE BATHROOM. I loved the sower, everything was clean and offered a great shower experience. Then the HOTEL SERVICES MY GOD, kudos to the all of the staff. We ordered room service and the menu was INCREDIBLE. We are from Mexico and they had Quesadillas, and a great wagyu burger! The service was quick and the food was delicious. The Creme Brulee was my favorite. We also request some laundry and MY GOD the quality of it. My linen shirt came back AS GOOD AS NEW, honestly. No single crease. About the hotel SPA, it was a truly magical experience. I reserved a traditional Chinese Medicine massage and the service was great. Although, from what I’ve experienced in other hotel spas, the price for me was a little bit off, despite the ambiance and the quality of the room. One note is that the robe felt old, it had some loose threads (and I mean I know this is is a small detail, but with everything else being just perfect, it just felt out of place to be honest). Now, the cherry on top WAS THEY NOTICED MY BIRTHDAY. Like, even i had forgotten it! Honestly! They went above and beyond to make this a truly special occasion for me! I was really touched by this present. With the overall experience I was really motivated to comeback to the PuXuan but with this small but significant detail I WILL DEFINITELY KEEP COMING BACK. Needless to say the food, the breakfast, the overall quality of the place is spectacular. Yes, maybe it can feel too modern at times, but you can feel the Chinese hospitality and details through the hotel. The hotel manager was kind enough to wave us goodbye at the checkout (and I loved her shoes by the way, she was so stylish). Great hotel, very big and resembles the old style but new. Very spacious rooms, we had a great view of the Great Wall from our windows.. specially at night.. magnificent views.. staff very helpful but language was a great barrier.. the translator machine didn’t quite work or understand properly.. so a lot of questions were unanswered or incorrectly… and the biggest thing was getting there.. no one really gave us proper directions on how to find the hotel from the entrance when the DIDI driver is not from there or the address is for the precinct not the hotel..

Stayed for 2 nights in Oct 2024, planned for 1 night to visit around the town itself and another night for the Simatai Great Wall. 1. Location - Inn is located within Gubei Watertown and it is necessary to go through the watertown to visit the Simatai Great Wall. By booking an accommodation within the town gives you discounted entrance price into the town and since we planned to visit the great wall and explore the town itself we have decided to stay for 2 nights (also partly the cost and time to travel there from Beijing). Inn is located near the main square where some performances are held and near a shuttle service stop (free shuttle services within town if you’re staying in an accommodation within town. Overall a good location within town. 2. Room - Booked a family room for 4 (2 single beds in each level). Room is mostly made of wood hence its not really a modern feel and its not really sound-proof which the staff has notified in advance. Room is spacious and bathroom is big. Stairs that goes up to the 2nd level is stable but can be a little steep for seniors. Overall the room is decent. It comes with tomatoes, peanuts and tea as welcome gift. 3. Luggage - There’s a luggage service whereby you can arrange for your luggage to be transported to your hotel from entrance, and from hotel back to entrance. This is definitely needed as the ground in the watertown is not a smooth surface and can be hard to carry your luggages around. 4. Services & breakfast - Staff’s services is really good and efficient! Breakfast is simple but has good variety. There’s the buffet portion which consists of small dishes for porridge, bread, bun, drinks etc. And there’s an alacarte portion where you need to order in advance the night before such as bacon, egg, sausages, noodles etc. i think its a good initiative to avoid wastage. Overall a very good stay and would recommend if you are visiting Gubei Watertown and would like to stay in a more traditional feel.

Gubei Watertown Hotel is the best choice we ever made for Gubei trip! The hotel came with the package of spacious room overseeing Simatai Great Wall, unlimited entrance access to Watertown via face recognition, 1 afternoon tea at QingYe Inn (we were pleasantly surprised with the food that they served!), 1 Chinese tea 禅茶with cookies/ fruits n nuts in TongYuan pagoda. We stayed 3D2N in this lovely serene town during this freezy winter but we were paid off with no crowd and zen feel. Breakfast choice is superb based on the varieties that they prepared. Simatai Great Wall is just walking distance but we go with free shuttle service since we are the hotel guests. Simatai Great Wall ticket with 2 way cable car cost CNY220 for day trip. Simatai Great Wall also has night view with cable car cost CNY200 but if you are the hotel guest then special rate at CNY120. It is the only Great Wall that has night view n it is lovely n touching to see Gubei town at night from top of Great Wall. After night Great Wall, we went to sauna spa (voucher provided in hotel package 🥰) n the pool overlooking Great Wall, lovely isn’t it? I want to specifically thank the hotel staff 冀英杰being super helpful to show us the room, recommended the best food, showing the way of work for Great Wall route n he was the one who highly recommend Great Wall night view and I truly appreciate it. He has also helped me to get the money changing since we are back to Beijing via bus, also helping us to keep the luggage after check out as we are walking around to wait for 5pm bus. Overall, I really felt happy to choose this hotel with full package which cost optimal with quality stay. What a memorable trip in Gubei!

Commune by the Great Wall berada di lokasi yang sangat bagus hanya kira-kira 30 minit dari bahagian Badaling di Great Wall. Kakitangan di sini sangat membantu, terutamanya bagi seseorang yang tidak banyak berbahasa Cina. Kawasan ini agak jauh dari mana-mana perkhidmatan atau restoran lain, jadi melainkan anda mempunyai pengangkutan sendiri, kebanyakannya anda akan makan di hotel. Nasib baik, makanannya benar-benar lazat dan disediakan dengan sangat baik di restoran yang ditawarkan oleh hotel. Ia juga berada di kawasan semula jadi yang indah dengan banyak kawasan hutan yang bagus untuk diterokai betul-betul di luar bilik hotel anda. Yang sangat membantu dan membantu saya mendapatkan tiket dan teksi ke Tembok Besar Badaling.

We stayed at Bolo Hotel for one night after a long day visiting the Great Wall, and what truly made our stay memorable was the outstanding service provided by Liam. From the moment we arrived, Liam impressed us with his initiative and professionalism. As soon as we stepped out of the car, he immediately helped with our luggage and insisted on carrying our bags. While all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, Liam stood out by a mile because of how proactive he was in anticipating guests' needs. We had purchased some fruits from a nearby local market, and without us even asking, Liam offered to wash them and later presented them beautifully plated in our room. He also offered to assist with our laundry, consistently going above and beyond what would normally be expected. What impressed us most was that his attentiveness never felt forced. On the morning of our departure, despite having worked late the previous evening, he personally came by during breakfast to check that everything was going well and that we were enjoying our stay. At checkout, he had already noted our departure time and, without any prompting from us, proactively asked whether he should come and help with our luggage. His service was truly second to none. Liam is a tremendous asset to Bolo Hotel and embodies the very highest standards of hospitality. He sets an example that many in the industry could learn from. We are extremely grateful for his kindness, initiative, and genuine care throughout our stay. Thank you, Liam, for making our short stay such a memorable one.

My stay was wonderful to say the least! The calming environment was soothing after a long day. All the staff members (especially Stephanie and Bruce) were kind and attentive at all times! I would highly recommend staying at the hotel, to anyone who wants to make use of the great facilities there are to offer or just relax in one of the beautiful serene rooms.

The room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was beautiful and tasty. Laoban was super friendly and did everything to accomodate us. He really made us feel welcome and granted us every wish. We used the hot (very hot) spring. The entrance to the great wall is just across the street. The restaurant is just next door and open most of the time. I defenetely recommend this hotel. What a pitty that we only planned to stay one night here. We were sad to say goodbye. (I also took a picture of the room with private courtyard. This was not our room. But we want to book one next time.)
