Hotel 3 Bintang di Bron

There were two PAIRS of coat hooks in my room.no less! We could hang two coats ,two hats ,and a pair of trousers( by the braces/ suspenders).Staggering in amazement at this luxury,I then struck my head badly on the edge of the skylight opening in the low sloping ceiling. For such a palace,I am paying the price of a cheapish FOUR star in Nice.Such are the joys of conference season in Lyon.If you are coming for pleasure, choose your week! For a CHEAP place, the Campanile Bron( note the apparently erroneous Tripadvisor reviews ,probably for the much newer Campanile Smart Bron) would not be bad at an appropriate price. It is like an old American motel,with external balcony entrances reached by spiral stairs,but with small rooms.The bed was good,the aircon worked,and the roof window had a good shutter.There was a kettle and writing table with lamp. The utility bathroom did have a shower door- better than a modern open walk-in. A good low cost improvement would be to restrict the TV sound level,as the sound insulation is bad. In contrast to some reviews, my room was not unclean, but it could not be kept in a decent state as there was no toilet brush.

Nous étions déjà venu à l'hôtel a l'allée de notre route de vacances, et que dire si ce n'est que notre deuxième passage était toujours aussi parfait. Nous avions demandé les mêmes chambres qu'à l'aller et cela a été respecté, cela fait très plaisir. Petit déjeuner excellent, les madeleines délicieuses. Ne changez rien ! Si nous repassons par la c'est sans hésiter que nous réserverons.

Nous sommes arrêtés pour charger la voiture et prendre un petit-déjeuner L’accueil est excellent, une attention particulière des employées du petit déjeuner Buffet bien fourni et possibilité de charger à plusieurs bornes de recharge.

The identity of the hotel is a little confusing; there is at least one other “ Ibis” very nearby, and the hotel entrance and reception is prominently headed “ NOVOTEL” with “ Ibis Styles” in smaller lettering,without any distinguishing logo, beneath, The Novotel reception and restaurant are modern and attractive.The receptionist gives directions to the “Ibis” and makes it clear that the Ibis breakfast is in the Ibis section, not the Novotel restaurant.After walking the length of a smart Novotel corridor,the era of woodchip paper,painted over in basic bright colours ,is reached in the” Ibis”. Having just come from three ( 3 and 4 star) hotels in Rome and north Italy ,I thought the Ibis expensive for the room facilities offered.There was no fridge or hot drink facilites;not even a bottle of water.The bathroom had a basic doorless shower,only one towel per person,and not even a toilet brush.The firm bed would have been comfortable without the pointless soft foam mattress topper,which caused it to feel excessively hot.Only being early May, the airconditioning was not functional,and the busy road discouraged having the windows open.The space between the outer plastic window frame, and the inner wooden one, had many cobwebs. To mention a positive aspect,we had a good meal at the Novotel restaurant,and breakfast in the bare Ibis breakfast room was of the usual standard.
