The hotel has absolutely stunning interiors and beautiful elevated garden views from the restaurant. 10/10 for the hotel interiors and also for the beautiful manicured gardens. Dinner at The Conservatory was great. The staff try very hard to provide good service and are friendly and courteous, but we found that there was sometimes confusion at reception and the spa staff, and sometimes inaccurate information was provided. A special mention must go to Lisa at the restaurant - it is our second encounter with her (we have visited the restaurant a few times previously) and she was delightful and accommodating on both occasions that we encountered her. I had a massage and the massage itself was absolutely first class, so well done to the masseusse on her technique. Unfortunately the spa is being renovated, which I was not aware of at the time of booking my package, and this somewhat takes away from the 5 star escape that one looks forward to when doing a staycation. The minibar is complimentary, unless you refill, which is a great value add. One element which took away from the experience is that the bathroom, which appeared fresh from an aesthetics perspective, did not have a fresh smell, which both my husband and I found very noticeable. However, since we were only there for a night, we did not raise this as we didn't want the inconvenience of someone coming in to clean, or switching rooms as we had already settled in so we bore with this, but this aspect was not pleasant. We stayed here for 6 nights at the start of January and wished we didn’t have to leave! The guest house itself if absolutely stunning, with lovely communal areas and a fabulous pool. The location is so convenient to walk through the vineyards for a spot of lunch or just a short drive to the waterfront or camps bay. We felt so relaxed here as the setting is so private and peaceful. Our room was very spacious, exceptionally clean and with the comfiest bed. Breakfast each morning was very fresh and with a nice range. We particularly loved the complimentary cake served each afternoon! On top of everything above, the thing that really made this guest house extra special are the hosts Jacques & Jenny. They are both so welcoming and happy to help with restaurant recommendations or day trip ideas. We honestly felt so at home with these two and are already planning our return trip! Thanks again for making our holiday so wonderful

Overall a good experience at the hotel. Was greeted promptly by a staff member. Got a good room on the highest floor and the hotel was smelling of Indian spices (what a great way to start off). It was the slow season so two of the three elevators were operating. Did not wait that long. The rooms were small. Would recommend only staying about three nights. Great for people traveling business. Breakfast was good and had good seats. Wasn't crowded and did not need to come at a specific time. Laptop vault worked. The adapters did not. Luckily I got some Euro plugs which actually worked in the bathroom area (no where else). There is a USB port by the bed but those are not that quick. Wifi was good in the room but not that good in the lobby. I slept comfortably and it was quiet. Easy to get Uber. Would stay again (if I am on a short business trip). Tip: Do not exchange money at the lobby UNLESS it is an emergency. Also, know where you go and do not look lost.

Room and especially the bathroom were small but adequate for a few nights. Breakfast in the attached restaurant was good with many options and an omelet station. There is a market that sets up every day in the square directly across from the hotel, however, this was not an issue. Our room did not overlook the square but overlooked rooftops. The bottom half of the window was frosted to block the rooftops. The rooftop pool and pool area is small. The location is the best reason to stay here. With your back to the market, walk down Longmarket or Shortmarket street to catch the Hop on Hop Off bus on Long street or continue to Bree Street for restaurant options including Hacienda (Mexican obviously), Burger & Lobster (limited but excellent menu and great bar). SCAM One evening, when we were heading to Bree Street, we were stopped by a gentleman with a security lanyard telling us the street ahead was closed because they were filming a movie. We could pass if we scanned a credit card into a wall mounted device. No charge but they need our names to protect the filming equipment. We declined and went up another street to the restaurant. Road not blocked, no filming equipment. We were glad we were suspicious. Amazing how you could be duped by a security lanyard.

I am a flight attendant and this is the hotel my company has provided for our layover here in Cape Town. Needless to say I have stayed in numerous hotels in my 45 year career. This hotel rates among the worst. The rooms are dated and believe it or not there isn't even a chair to sit in. There is just an uncomfortable sofa that is filthy dirty. The shower water temperature is hit or miss. Sometimes it's barely hot enough to be comfortable. Some of the front desk staff has absolutely no idea what they are doing. It took me over 25 minutes to pay for a room service charge. The elevators are hit and miss as well, today there's only one elevator that is operating. The room service is terrible, they just hand you a plate without a tray. I was very surprised that my company would put us in such a low grade hotel.
